  1. You could also try the new program available on this site named rapid13.zip which I think is brilliant as you take a succession of shots and then view them straightaway (back at the desktop) already filed and categorised.I have not always had much success taking screenshots but this prog works very well and is user friendly
  2. Hi GuysI have just moved to a 17" Hitachi LCD CML 174SXWB following several rave reviews of it on respected sites like Toms Hardware and gamepc. The jump that Hitachi have made is in it's refresh rate which is 3/4 times faster than what has been available until now. Also in the UK there has recently been a price drop of c.
  3. Hi MichaelNot the voice but the visible pilot that you see in the spot plane view. The guys who design all these wonderful planes in MSFS2k2 chose a figure to place inside the plane as the pilot and obviously this 'person' can be either male or female. Bitmaps or whatever must be available for this to happen and all I was wondering is if the appropriate files(s) can be tweaked to allow a (sex)change to take place?
  4. Hi guysI have asked this question before (many moons ago) and I didn't get an answer then but perhaps with the passage of time some of you program wizards may have now found a way!!!!Is it possible to change the pilot that we see in the spot plane view from say female to male (or vice versa)?I talk to ATC in my big gruff voice and then see Britney Spears in the cockpit.............no forget it ...I've just had another idea

  6. Thanks Bob...........much appreciated
  7. Hi guysCan someone please direct to where I can d/l Whazzup. I do not seem to be able to find it here!
  8. Hi AllessandroSee my post called 'Video tip?'. I use Riva tuner and the result I have achieved using the 'german' tip has given me the best graphics yet. I am eagerly awaiting response to my other post to see if others have similar results (but I am old and wise and I am not holding my breath)
  9. Hi there Stratus_FractusYou could have looked in the zipdive of the file I mentioned but here is the address for the article:- www.jobia.de/ and look for item 5.
  10. Hi guysD/L a file last night from here called ebchlc05.zip by a Swiss chap called Ernst Bosshard.I have not in fact installed it yet because I became fascinated by a tip in his read me file which sent me off to Germany to try to decipher an article on tweaking your nvidia card. There are some screenshots that help and I do feel that the new settings have improved the distant clarity issue for me. I have a P4 2.66 Hz, 512 MB,GF Ti 4200 128MB. However I am not very scientific in my approach these days and I am hoping that some of you guys who are more inclined to experiment than me will have a look at this and report back. It would also help if somebody could perhaps provide a translation of the article (I may have read it backwards):-lol Danke und aufwiedersen!!!!!!
  11. Hi guysI was under the impression that drivers for GF2 cards are not intended to go beyond 28.32. The latest drivers are developed for GF4 cards. Think about it. Is nvidia likely to devote effort for improving non current cards?I think that DX9 is a bit irrelevant for FS2K2 as the game almost certainly does not contain any DX9 code therefore we are not very likely to gain any advantage from it. I have it installed on my rig because I do do other games apart from FS and it is certin that game developers are incorporating DX9 code now as I'm sure MS will do in the next release of FS2K*This is what I understand....if I am wrong please corrct me!
  12. Wow!It's the last time that I'll buy John West fish products.Oops, sorry..........it's Jerry ;)
  13. Hi FrankThanks for your info. The fix worked like a charm changing all the chosen aircraft.cfg at a stroke! What I had before was not automated and I manually changed each a/c.cfg which gave the same result but took much longer.I didn't know about this bit of magic but this is what I used to put in the a/c.cfg:- use_no_default_bank=1 use_no_default_pitch=1It was these 2 lines that I picked up before and they have now been placed by Dave's fix.
  14. Thanks guys for the helpful pointers. I visited Rob Westhouse's section on this site and d/l his "fix" for the maps. I have as yet only done San Fran North and South because this is where I am presently exploring and the fix has worked. I have not yet noticed a problem with the vector maps!!!
  15. Thanks for this tip. I went there and found a lot of good tips but not the one for the auto pilot tweak. Does anybody have it???
  16. Hi guysLike a few others, seeing the latest patch from the talented and courageous Richard Harvey I have reinstalled Fly!2. I have a new rig and this was another reason for giving it a fresh try. I am pleased with the results that I am getting but occasionally come across the odd item that I remember being an irritant in my original efforts. One is the apparent inability to get one's aircraft in the correct position on the map (keypress m). I was wondering if in the intervening period, someone out there has managed to produce a fix or a workaround for this small glitch.I was a tremendous fan of the original Fly! and I am again experiencing the thrill of the magnificent cockpits and wing shots that this sim has. I have not found better in any other sim.
  17. Hi GuysI remember in the period just after FS2k2 was launched there appeared lots of tips to maximise performance. I am now running a new rig and I did not bring forward all of my previous setting details. Can anyone direct to that site that had all these tips listed. I do want to make the change to the .cfg file that allows you to hold altitude on the autopilot but still allow course changes.I am very happy with my new rig.....all sliders to the right and holding 25 fps most of the time! It really is like having a different simulator.New specs:-P4 2.66 Ghz256 Mb RAM (will up to 512 shortly)gf 4200 Ti 128 Mb120 Gb 7200 HDwindows XP home
  18. Hi ScottI am using IE version 6.0.2800. I have looked through it and I cannot find any specific reference to txt file type and I have all settings at default.Does this help
  19. Hi GuysI have only recently changed my PC and I suspect that some of the minor problems that I am currently having are due to not having some settings set correctly.A particular nuisance is that I can no longer read a text file from the zipdive screen. I can d/l the complete zip file and read all the files back home (as it were) but this is not the way to go.When I click on a .txt file,it is being seen as zipshow.zip, file type Microsoft Picture It! Document and I am not able to read it.Any ideas please
  20. Thanks Scott.............that did the trick.
  21. Hi guysI have tried several times today to d/l the latest patch but without success.I have successfully d/l 2 MSFS and 1 MSTS files from avsim plus the DX9 from MS site all without trouble using DAP.Any ideas please
  22. Hi GuysI have tried several times today to d/l the latest Fly 2 patch. The procedure goes entirely normally (I use DAP) but when I click the d/l button it goes through the authentification, checks resume support etc and gets to the d/l bit and nothing happens. To check things from my end I have d/l 3 other files today (2 MSFS and a MSTS) with no problems. And also DX9 from the MS site!Any ideas
  23. Hi GuysOff topic I know but today is a momentous one in history. So much so that I am tempted to change my username to Easy Ryder :-sun1 Now don't get too downhearted as we'll let you try to win it back next time (and you will be on home territory)Best wishes Frank
  24. Thanks Kurt for exceptionally clear answer to my query. Worked like a charm. I could never have worked that out on my own. In the UK, we call people who help out broken down motorists ' Knights of the road' so I hereby nominate you for the new title of 'Knight of the Flight Simmers'
