  1. Hi, I tried to merge the panel of the Feelthere A346 with the Project Airbus A380. It works except the Alphafloor protection kicks in too soon. If I put in the ZFW numbers I gt by loading the A380 with ACLoader, this A346 panel MCDU calculates a too high approach speed and enters 100% thrust when I try to land with just about 140knots. Who has experiences with such a merge, how to get that right? Entering a ZFW number -20, so it works?

  2. so what about coming back to the topic? Is this JFK Situation realy worth being a thing for the news? Nothing happend but some delay, some FAA research and some worn brakes. Is it soimportaint to point out what could have happen if...?Either EA did not know his way around and did not like to ask for directions or the controller did not check his ground radar, or even both did not do their jobs. Just a side idea: At the end of each taxiway leading to the runway, could some RFID transponder be installed, which are to be deactivated by the ground-controller, otherwise are active and telling the aircrafts closing onto them, that they are approaching a danger zone, triggering an alarm in the cockpit and even initiating a automatic braking of the aircraft, if the pilot is "asleep". even it could be completely automated that these RFID transponder are active as long as a aircraft is on the active runway. as long as there is a aircraft, no other can get onto it. Only a ground-controller can deactivate them on one taxiway entry to the assigned runway part.

  3. So, the pilots do not know about other aircrafts they cannot see. Either they follow exactly the orders of the controllers taxiing or take chances to turn wrong, and then when the controllers are overworked and stressed, they even notice it very late at the ground radar.Well, I think about an iPAD app that is connected to the a/c radar and GPS and recieves transmitter IDs via Internet UMTS 3G where which AC is with heading and speed. As well it all works with google maps and the pilot can enter the taxiway instructions and getting a path to follow as well as warnings if other a/cs are too close. Hope you get my idea...

JFK has ground radar. TCAS is not used on the ground.

  4. Who is sooo foolish thinking it could be some kind of a terror act? Just a EA did not know where he was taxiing and a controller who was very good to see and warn the accellerating Lufthansa bird. These faults are happening and already happened all over the world very many times, often the nomal public will not get any details about it. Is it that foreign pilots do not understand english good enough or cannot read the airport charts, because they have had not enough rest/sleep?

  5. I realy wonder how that could have happen at all! Every modern airliner a/c has a TCAS with TA monitoring, as well as the tower tells the pilots which taxiways to take. And the pilots have to have the airport charts at hand and to know every second where they are taxiing. On the other side, tower has a ground radar to know every second where which a/c is taxiing, so if one is approaching a active runway, a alarm should go off, because the tower controllers cannot whatch every a/c all the time while they are taxiing around. If a foreing pilot does not know exactly how to get from A to B at a airport, he can ask the tower for guidance. In such a case someone is watching closely this aircraft and giving detailed instructions. Am I right? But I know many eastern country pilots/crews do not like to ask for help. They think it would be a unhonorable thing to ask. So it can happen that they get lost and make such faults. So, the FAA is at the case... I would love to know what they will find out and who is responceable.

  6. just use VC and pan around or zoom in. In a real AC you can lean forward to see your instruments better, but would not see a thing from the outside world anymore. The Window is not the biggest and the instruments are large enough to read. Maybe your TFT Screen is not large enough or your resolution setting is off? A real Pilot cannot zoom in the instruments and still be able to see the landing strip at the same time. You need to do a lot of approaches for practice to get the right feeling. At the beginning stick to ILS AP 'till 200ft above. After 20 or 40 times, begin to fly it without AP at 1000ft above. And if that worked well after 20 times, fly the app all the way from 4000ft or even highter all manualy. Same goes with pax/cargo wight&balance differences. do it never with an empty bird. Change the weight more often. And change the approaching airports as well as the weather. Never fly the same weather - that would be unrealistic having all year the same weather....

  7. Yes, I am sporting the latest makerwys.lot for that!I did not tell that I have had this RC problem while using FS9.1 not FSX. I turn on Time Exc 8x for a short period in order to get ridd of the AI ahead of me crowding the taxi to the active runway as well as for the big bunch of AI approaching... I will play around with the aismooth v120 for sure! Thank you a real lot for that! http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=92849

  8. Hi,I got a aPad Flytouch 3 and asking what to do with it! Yes, sure I got a bunch of android apps running. I got a keyboard case I can connect with it and using it like a netbook. Fine thing this devise is! I got some ideas what to do with it like running a video logbook with it. What do you do with your Android PAD or iPAD?

  9. Hi ronzie,I cannot find this tool "AI Smooth Version 1.2" anywhere here... would be kind if you give me a link. All your other text does not tell me any new details. Thank you anyway a real lot!I have the latest fsuipc, I have all my very many addons in good management and order as well as RC is up to date with my afcads and sceneries. But yes, it may have been a issue that my frst waypoints where too close, so I missed them. I had to turn around to catch them. I did catch them, still RC did not count all of them. RC got very confused I guess. Ah I did not fly with time accelleration at the time RC lost me. Normaly RC has no issue with me having many waypoints very close to the airport I am starting from. I fly SIDs and STARs and fly the STARs mostly IAP.

  10. Hi.startet at KLAX, I got somehow lost at the airport taxiing to the right runway. So I had to abbord the takeoff. I taxiied to the right one and stood there for ages. No clearance for takeoff came. I started the takeoff and after I already was in the air, RC told me I can takeoff now. After that I flew as planed but RC did not tell me any flightlevel but kept telling me the air pressure. Strange, I was already well above FL18!Still no chatter, no other radio contact. I even dialed to the center frequency manual without luck. So, what to do now? I am still on my way to KSEA...

  11. Very interesting topic I pulled - seems to be an ongoing one...So please tell me, what does a PIC do in the three phases of flight? And what is the PNF doing in the same phases? Is it true that one pilot could master the job at Flightlevel, but because two are in the cockpit, one has almost nothing to do?I know, I could not take a nap in phases where I am not needed to do much. If I would do so, whenever the PIC wakes me up, I would need too long to be able to concentrate again... So how do you manage this problem?

  12. Hi,I have no Radio/Avionic Power but switch is on. No matter what aircraft I load, no matter if I turn on the engines, I have no power and the radio displays stay dark. Has anyone any idea how to solve this?Normaly, when I change the plane or start FS9 again, the problem is solved (drained battery). But now I can start FS9 again and have the same situation.

  13. Three things have to be considered for operating a A380 at those airports like KFJ: Wider manoeuver zone, slower speed when near the terminal gates and other aircrafts and better training for ground crew and pilots in matter of about how a A380 handles and has to be handled at those airports not designed for such wide and large a/cs This could have been avoided!

  14. well, it's one thing to prevent boarding a plane having not had enough sleep but another thing what you do being in the cockpit for hours - else than working the radio, checking the weather reports, checking the approach charts, watching the instruments and chat with your partner. Mostly you need just one pilot while at flightlevel but two when at takeoff or approach&landing phase. But you always have to be full awake and concentrated in emergency situations and critical flight phases. So, I guess better not playing a ego shooter on your notebook while being in the cockpit, becoming frustrated and unconcentrated when something unexpected happens or the descent&approach phase starts... or just being not awake enough by lag of sleep ... Why can it be even possible that airlines doesnt care about that and so not about the safety of aircraft&Crew and pax!!!???

  15. So it's still possible to start a flight having not getting enough sleep befor, endangering the safety of the a/c and pax. What can and already did happen when pilots have had not enough sleep and rest befor a flight, befor approach phase, everyone knows who is a pilot or crew or have seen some nice NG or other chanel documentation videos.Just some quick little tests can be done by airlines with pilots befor the start their shift, to check if they are ok or if they are a danger for the safety of a/c&rew&pax.I know of own experience how it goes with small companies when the bos tells you to drive a loooong way out to a field trip, doing the job and drive back, no matter how late it's gonna be when driving back. No money free for staying in a hotel befor I drive back. I know how it is driving back being sick / ill or just too tired, not allowed to stay in a hotel. But does the same may happen to pilots? Did alreay happen and the pax does not know about it because no crash happened?

  16. Hi Guys, how is it today, still many more cockpit hours than spare time to relax and sleep for pilots?Do airlines care for their pilots that they get enough sleep between the shifts? Are they able to book a hotel room when the have to stay somehwere in nowhere between flights or befor a shift starts?

  17. FSWidgets GMap- A live map connected to FSX. I don't have this one.FltPlan.com- I use this to view my charts (terminal procedures) from time to time (real world).FlightTools E6B- A free E6B!Aviation Weather- This one is ultra simple. Gives METARs by simply entering desired reporting stations. Quick and dirty app.
Wow thanks a bunch, that helps a lot!Now I will be able to offload some CPU power by using my new apad for viewing the charts online like real pilots do and loading&saving the PDF charts on my device, having them at my side while flying.

  18. Hi,I will get my APAD Flytouch 3 in about 3 days. As I fly with FS9.1 quite often, I thought, maybe there are some nice apps for Android 2.2 I can use. Now, does anyone here know of some nice apps? Like airspace charts or airport charts etc.?

  19. It's a great show! When recorded and cut off the commercials, it makes a rather good documentation show about alaska bush flying. I love it and it makes me wanna make my PPL. If I ever have the money for it!That's what I would call real flying skills! Not pushing some knobs, dials and MCDU / FMC, almost fall asleep between takeoff and landing where the hand flying skill may be needed! Real hand-flying skills there in alaska!
