Thank you, Steve, for your excellent repaints. I bought the expansion last night and have already enjoyed flying the WestJet 736 from CYVR to CYEG.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Quick question about the update: uninstall (via Windows) first and install again, or is this an incremental update that can be install over the previous installation?
-
A mostly analogue process with many touch points … plenty of opportunity for typos, mistakes in calculations, misheard numbers, loading errors, and so on. It’s a wonder that it all worked most of the time.

Lovely. My neck of the woods, too.

True. Still seems kinda early to shoot in a celebratory way … but what do I know? 😜

I use medium textures and don’t really notice much of a difference. YMMV, though.

Gosh, I hope not. I haven’t heard of any other similar news items on Canadian news media.
Come to think of it … I’m wondering if it was something like target shooting or some other type of horsing around, given the gunshots were heard around 6 pm and the location was a “large field” on a “rural property.”

Firing guns on NYE is just not a thing here, and never has been to my knowledge. Discharge of firearms is not allowed as per municipal bylaw where I live, and I would guess that there are similar municipal bylaws throughout Canada--where we don't really have a gun culture similar to our neighbours to the south.
The first time I encountered this practice was a number of years ago, when I spent NYE in Mexico City. While at a party at a friend's house, I was cautioned not to go outside or be near a window as the clock struck midnight. I had no idea why I shouldn't, so I asked and was told that people shoot their guns indiscriminately in the air (much to my then amazement) and that people had been injured or killed as a result.

Thank you, Keven. Above and beyond expectations. So very much appreciated!

I think that the next thing that you should try is to uninstall via Windows, and then download the full installer from PMDG and then reinstall. If that doesn't work, it would be best to open a support ticket with PMDG.

It sure is magical! I just did a night approach to my home airport, CYVR, after flying from CYYC. I don't often fly at night, but I'm going to start doing more night flights.

I have a 2060 and run 5.3 at 1080p resolution.

1920x1080, so yes, 1080p

I'm on 5.3 with EA on a 6gb video card. I keep my visuals modest but pretty good-looking (e.g., 4xSSAA, Volumetric Clouds off, LOD radius medium, no road vehicles, 70% airline traffic and GA traffic density, etc.). Even with FSLabs aircraft at FSimStudios CYVR, the highest VRAM consumption I'm seeing is 3.3gb.
Otherwise, my framerates, set at unlimited, are great (not below 30) no matter where I fly, I have no stutters, and I've experienced no VRAM crashes. I'm a pretty happy camper, actually.

Jannie Roelofse posted in the iFly forum that they found the problem: the "ReadBgl.exe file slipped through and did not get included" and that "both SP1 and the full installer v4.01.0 will be replaced in the next 30 minutes" ... and that was almost six hours ago.

If you already have the aircraft installed you only need to apply the Service Pack, Take note that you will have to reinstall any liveries, and this is a good time to give the GetLiveries tool a go.
Head over to the Product page, scroll down and grab the “Latest Service Pack”.

I wasn't aware of this plane, Paul. It's not one I'm familiar with. Thanks.

For anyone who has the Just Flight 146 Professional or QualityWings Ultimate 146 and is wondering where to fly, 146s and Avro RJs are still being flown in Canada—and probably will be for the next 15 years or so, as indicated by Alex Praglowski on his YouTube channel. Check out his latest video here.

So that I'm absolutely clear on this ...
- Download the full installer
- Uninstall only client, content, and scenery via the Windows uninstaller (and don't deactivate the license when uninstalled the client)
- Run the full installer
Has anyone uninstalled the client, content, and scenery and then simply downloaded each installer and installed individually? That's what I normally do and I was wondering if there's something special about downloading the full installer rather than this method.

Me, too. Coincidentally, I had just watched that YouTube video last night. As a layperson with no background whatsoever in electricity or physics, I have to say that my mind was blown by the Veritasium video.

My home airport is CYVR, so I see WestJet aircraft a lot. Honestly, I'd be happy with what you've done already. To my eye, though, since you asked, the green in "Jet" is too ... ummm ... light? I think that you can get a better idea of that specific colour by taking a look at the various WestJet logos on the company's Media Resources webpage that contain the colour.
Barring that, I have some jpegs of WestJet aircraft at CYVR that may help.
