  1. Make sure your FSUIPC is the latest version and up to date. Had similar issues. Also CHECK that when you install/update that you select either EXE xml file or CAB file during the installation process. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi Guys Is anyone using CPflight 737 MCP with Level-D 767. It seems to work fine with every PMDG, and Default FSX aircraft, but when I try to use the MCP with Level-D...... I receive a: Runtime error 53 message. file not found Paolo (at CPflight) has been very helpful and is trying to solve the issue, but I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions or advice. Regards John
  3. Ray, guys 1) Verified FSX radios and FSX ATC functioned correctly (They do) 2) Decided to check FSUIPC4 from the FSX pull-down menu when in FSX is started (in Flight) 3) Noticed that the: "Hide all single line messages" was NOT checked (so I checked the box as instructed in RC4 manual) 4) Started FSX and RC4 and now observed RC4 Freq window reacting to my keyboard inputs (Ctl 1 / Ctrl 2 etc) the text in the window blinked every time I selected C1 or C2 on my keyboard. 5) Quit FSX ................. and had a closer look at ALL the settings in my Rc4 Main APP/Window 6) In the GENERAL window, I decided to change the Aircraft/Type to ACE and also Changed my Pilot voice from Bret Delana to Dean Barry QUIT RC4 7) Restarted FSX and Rc4 with the default Cessna 172 parked at EGCC and Now RC4 works perfectly with my Keyboard inputs!!! I have no idea what caused RC4 to start working (whether it was the change of Aircraft or Pilot voice) but it appears it was either in a loop or conflicting with something. Anyway I'll play around with it for a while and see if I can get to the bottom of this mystery. Just a couple of things: a) in my FSX settings / control / under buttons ..... I appear to have TWO identical lines for the ATC windows display/hide keyboard selection (Scroll Lock and ' ) Could someone please verify if you have the same thing in your FSX settings. Nuitkati, I've just downloaded SPADneXt drivers, so I'll have a look at them and there compatibility for my Saitek Radio Panel. Thanks again for ALL your help and suggestions, Ill report back with my findings. Many Thanks John
  4. When in FSX at EGCC........ in the RC4 window are 2 frequencies + Main Menu selection C1 - CLR by CD on 12170 C2 - WX Brf on 12817 Main-0 In the past to select either freq I've pressed CONTROL + 1 or CONTROL + 2 respectively from my keyboard and this action has tuned either Clearance Delivery or ATIS. Sorry I also forgot to mention that My set-up is just on 1 PC and I'm NOT using WideFS config. Please be aware Ray that I've disconnected my Radio Panel, So i'm only using RC4 via PC keyboard inputs. Ray I cannot find away of attaching an image of my RC4 keyboard Config settings (default I think). Have AVSIM now withdrawn the Attachment feature to the Post editor? I don't wish to set up any more accounts (dropbox) unless I have to. Kind Regards John
  5. Hi Guys, Well this is where I'm at ............ 1) Completely uninstalled Navigraph (and ALL its files) 2) Radar Contact 4, now opens as expected (No network resource that is unavailable, msi file etc) 3) Removed ALL Saitek drivers and disabled Saitek Radio panel 4) Re installed FSUIPC4, Version 4.943 5) Started FSX first, then RC4 (No other 3rd party FSX programs) Sat on taxiway at EGCC in default Cessna and RC4 red text display window was displayed as expected. HOWEVER I could not interact with RC4 ...............when I pressed C1 (Ground) or C2 (ATIS) or MAIN - 0, on my keyboard nothing happens. Ive tried it several times in Window mode and non window mode, but I cannot get RC4 to react to my keyboard (RC4 window displayed in FSX will not disappear or reappear when the ( ' key is pressed) Ray, Ronzie , for your info I've only installed PMDG 777 and Flight Planner X over the last 6 months as well as Saitek Radio Panel Drivers. Any ideas? My specs are: Windows 7 64bit, i7 2600K, 8gb ram, Nvidia GTX 590 (Running: FSX, RC4 only) Thanks again for your Help, Advice and Patience John
  6. Hi Ray and Ronzie, Thanks very much for the info and support, unfortunately I'm now having another issue when I launch RC4 with a window that pops up: (The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.) ......... path to Navigraph nDAC 3.msi. I'm currently updating my Navigraph account (more money) with the hope it solves the pop-up window problem, and then perhaps I can get back to configuring my Saitek radio panel and RC4. I really appreciate your time and help on this matter and will keep you posted. Many Thanks John p.s. Sorry Ray for my lack of knowledge but what does Otto mean?
  7. Hi Guys, Just wondered if anyone has used RC4 and Saitek Radio Successfully. When I tune in the freq and make them active, RC4 only seems to identify the ATIS Freq, .......... and NONE of other DELIVERY,GROUND, TOWER etc freq Are they Compatible? All frequencies displayed on the Saitek Panel are indeed visible on the Aircraft Radio Panels (within FSX) and display correctly when the Saitek freq are changed. It appears RC4 cannot read the Radio panels within FSX. I have tried setting RC4 with Auto tune Com ON and OFF but has made no difference. I only hope I'm doing something wrong because RC4 is such a GREAT atc program. Kind regards J
  8. Hi Everyone, For a few years now Ive been running FSX at a 1600 x 1200 resolution, and I'm now thinking of upgrading my monitor to a 2560 x 1440 res. 1) Will I see a worthwhile visual improvement in FSX ? 2) Do you think the upgrade will have a dramatic effect on FPS ? 3) Can you give any advice on what I should be looking for in a high res monitor ? My specs are as follows: Intel i7 2600k, 8gb Ram M/b ASUS Sabertooth Nvidia GTX 590 (3gb) PSU: Corsair 1200i Water cooled running: Windows 7 - 64bit, (un-Clocked) @ 3.4 ghz FSX: Pmdg, Level-D, ORBX, FSDT, REX 4, Ultimate Traffic. Many thanks for your help and advice J
  9. Many thanks Dazz, Olli for the info and advice, I'll stick with 8gb. Regards
  10. Hi guys, My PC which is dedicated to running FSX only, ...... currently has 8gb of ram (2 x 4gb) I was wondering if you think I would see any benefit in FSX by upgrading to 16gb or 32gb RAM My current specs are: Sandybridge i7 2600k, Windows 7 64bit, ASUS sabertooth M/board, 8gb Corsair Vengeance ram, Nvidia GTX 590, SSD's Many Thanks for your help and advice John
  11. Thanks to you ALL for your advice and comments. So I guess the only significant improvement visually,....... would be to opt for a 27" 2560 x 1440 resolution monitor. That way I'd have a bit more control over the AA. Regards John
  12. Hi Guys, Just wondered if you think I'd see any real difference in upgrading my current (1600 x 1200 res) 21" inch monitor to a 27" inch 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor. I know the size difference will play apart but do you think I'd see a visual improvement. Many Thanks for your time and advice John p.s. Just for your info my Graphics cards are perfectly capable of handling the increase in res (2560 x 1600)
  13. Hi There, Really enjoyed watching that, very impressed and well put together. Regards John
  14. Thanks Guys, So basically I should be executing the turn the moment I receive the instruction from Approach Control (in this case 310 degrees). Thanks again Craig & Ian for your help and advice. John
  15. Hi everyone, Sorry if this is a dumb question, but could someone please explain what approach means when they say " 7 miles from the marker turn left heading 310 degrees......Approach ". At first.........after I received these instructions I continued to fly my current heading of (250 degrees) thinking I'd hear the Outer Marker audio and that would be the que to start the turn to 310 as instructed by Approach Control, but I heard nothing so I flew way past my turn point. Basically I need to know what instrument etc tells me when to make that turn on to 310 degrees so I can capture the localizer? Many Thanks in advance John
  16. Thanks Manny, I think I'll try and see what effect it has on FSX/frames etc by hooking-up a couple of monitors through my graphic card. Cheers
  17. Hi There, Just recently, when ever I quit FSX the program returns to the set-up window FREE FLIGHT (the one where you can select your choice of aircraft, airport, weather, time). as expected. However the window directly below these choices (normally displays the rotating AIRCRAFT you've selected before pressing FLY NOW)................................................is completly BLACKED-OUT. Any ideas what could be causing this? Ive re-installed FSX along with Level-D 767 and UT2 for now. (Nothing else installed) while I try to pin down the problem. My System Specs are: i7 2600k, GTX 590, 16mb Ram, P/s: ATX1200, Water cooled, P67 M/b running Windows 7/64bit and FSX. Many thanks for your help John
  18. Hi guys, I'm toying with the idea of Dual monitors so I can Expand my Cockpit view but I'm not sure how best to achieve this. Do you think I'll be able to accomplish this via my Graphic Card (GTX 590) or do you advice me to go with Dual-heads to-go. Thanks for any Info and help John Specs: Windows 7/64 - i7 2600k, GTX 590, 8mb Corsair Vengence, ATX 1200 P/S, Sabertooth P67 M/b, Water cooled. FSX, UT2, REXessen, RC4, TrackIR.
  19. Hi There Thanks for the info, I think I'll probably do the same and out-put from the card to an External Amp, just to see what improvement (if any) I get before spending money on a dedicated sound card. Thanks again for the reply
  20. Hi there, I'm currently running FSX from an ASUS P67 Sabertooth m/board and was womdering if you think I'd get better sound/audio output if I install a dedicated sound card. Ive done several searches and read many post on the subject of sound, but alas there appears to be many conflicting reports. So I was wondering if any of you guys had actually installed dedicated sound cards for FSX and what your opinions are before I purchase. Many Thanks for your support and guidance. John. p.s .........my specs are Windows 7/64bit, Sabertooth P67 m/b, i7 2600k chipset, 8mb vengence ram, Nvidia GTX590, Corsair AX 1200 p/s, water cooled.
  21. Hi guys, Thanks for the tips, I forgot all about the Keyboard menu option, so I'll change the keys there, .. probably to CTRL 1 etc, and see how it goes. Many Thanks John
  22. Hi JD, Bob guys Just after some advice, When RC is running the option window often presents me with various options to proceed with ATC namely: press 1 to proceed press 7 to proceed unfortnately when I select GSX the options window it presents are ALSO numbered form 1 through to 6. Now when I select/press no1 for example it activates the option in Radar Contacts window instead (RC4 seems to take priority). So is there any way I can change the option nos in RC4 so they don't conflict with GSX........................eg SHIFT 1 or CTRL SHIFT 1 Thanks for any help and advice John p.s ive also posted on the GSX forum to see if anything can be changed in GSX (really looking forward to RC5)
  23. Hi Word Not Allowed,Well those temps appear to be pretty stable: under 100% Load the highest Coretemp recorded was 39C, as for the ambient temp Ive no means of measuring it....... theres NO heating on and its raining outside (British Summer-time) Anyhow have reinstalled ALL my FSX and 3rd party addons and to be completely honest, I'm very impressed with FSX performance (No stutters, CTD, No memory errors) so much so I'm cosidering NOT overclocking.Ive still got afew more FSX test I want to perform (just to push it to the limits) eg: 100% A1 traffic, Photographic Scenery, LevelD 767, Radar Contact, REX, TrackIR, landing at Heathrow during Dusk.and see how It performs, but upto now I'm a very Happy Chappy. Thanks for All your guidance.Cheers John
  24. Thanks Jim,Thats a good idea, I'll do as you suggest.Many ThanksJohn
