I have no idea why people keep arguing - using mostly meaningless statistics - the very simple fact that MSFS is probably the most successful flight simulator ever published. It has generated a massive eco-system of high to highest quality freeware, and is, even after 3 and a half years is being continuously upgraded and improved by Asobo and Microsoft.
In addition, it has DEFAULT avionics that are, thanks to the work of WT,as close to "study level" as you can possibly get without breaking the bank.
Everything else completely pales in comparison.
Is it perfect. Far from it. For example, the ATC is pretty much useless.
So let's cut Asobo some slack. If not, kindly point me towards a flight simulator that does more than what MSFS does.

Attention to detail shows me that the developer is stepping up to the plate and not just phoning it in.

I've been using toolbar pushback pretty much since the day it was released. No issues here.

I rarely buy sceneries today or "bundles". For one thing, the default scenery and the many "handcrafted" airports are good, secondly, a lot of the payware stuff just isn't good enough to spend money on, thirdly, there is flightsim.to
Also, check the "collections" on flightsim.to

This is what midair refueling is for.

Business jets are, unfortunately, somewhat of an abandoned orphan in MSFS. The only long range biz jet is the DEFAULT Longitude. It's basically just a cockpit, with no cabin, doors, animations inside, etc.
The Hondajet and the Cirrus Vision Jet are nice, but are basically tiny mosquitoes with 0 "ramp presence".
The recently released Phenom 100 by Cockspur is mediocre.
Hoping for a decent Phenom 300 by FSReborn.

I have to say, after completing a number of flights, this is a very rough and unfinished addon that lacks all of the polish that, for example, the recently released FS Reborn Piper, or the Hondajet and Cirrus Vision Jet have.
Sounds are not good. Various stuff is inop. Close to zero animations (except the toilet) in the cabin. No EFB, just a "cheap-looking" laminated card, with a checklist you can't properly use in the cockpit.
It flies ok, at any rate, most of the heavy lifting is done by the WT's G1000NXi.
I have no idea why all the youtubbers who reviewed this are heaping praise on it.
I mean, it's not bad, it looks nice from the outside, but it doesn't have any "standout features".

Someone posted this on Cockspur's Discord channel.
A great video going through all the procedures on the Phenom. It's in Brazilian Portuguese, but you can still follow along pretty easily.

For important visual improvements, increasing immersion, the freeware community comes through again:
These mods remove the Cockspur logo on the outside and on the MFD boot-up screen.

No Vspeeds on the speedtape......

After playing around a bit in the cockpit, I have to say, the Carenado version released almost 10 years ago looks pretty much just as good as this new version......
-
Various buttons, for example, nav and strobe, have no "click sound". Others do. ELT- switch is modeled backwards. Night lighting is decent.
-
I have purchased this aircraft. Initial walk-around impressions: outside is modeled nicely. Same for the cockpit. Cabin, though, I see mostly low-rez textures, nothing is clickable, except for the main door and the lavatory door - so if you want to evacuate your bowels in style, you can do so!

32 Euros in my neck of the woods (Northern Europe).

I'm waiting for feedback from trustworthy sources. In the linked video I didn't see any animations inside the cabin, except for those ghastly zombies that you can load via the MSFS load manager.
Is there a tablet?
How is the flight model?
Overall, this has the feel of a mediocre addon.

...and that is exactly the problem, IMHO. Spending a few houurs understanding file structures, how to unzip, copy, paste, etc. files will help you understand what you're doing, instead of relying on some funky "helper program" that, in the end, may cause problems of its own.

What some of these youtubbers in their rush for clicks don't understand is that by producing a subpar video they are actually hurting not helping developers. I'll wait for more competent reviewers to weigh in. The Phenom 100 is one of my favorite planes, but the developer, Cockspur doesn't inspire confidence.

I wouldn't waste any money on scenery addons. MSFS looks very good right out of the box, even on medium settings.
There is plenty of free stuff of flightsim.to
I bought REX Accuseason and REX Global Airport Textures when MSFS came out.

IMHO, flight simulation is about so much more than just "is this switch modeled correctly" or "real hardcore simmers vs. casual simmers".
Simulation of flight is an excellent tool to teach about the following:
- flight physics - why do planes fly at all?
- technology
- weather
- navigation
- geography
- history
- literature
- art
- architecture (airport design)
- Light
- customer service
- team work aka crew resource management
- communication
- air traffic control (at least the rough basics)
- languages
- time
- Culture
I bet you could put together an entire high school / college curriculum based on a flight simulator (it doesn't really matter which one).I think that's a hell of a bargain for a game that costs roughly 70 bucks!

I'm probably in the minority here, and I only speak for myself, but I am completely uninterested in these "progress reports". I really don't need to see selfies of the team, or reports that you are now in stage 3.56 of the development process, etc.
Release it, patch it, patch it some more. Done.
