  1. Yes. As far as I can tell the IP address on the FS box that was static changed after the new router was installed. I have with the assistance of Active Sky support reconfigured things so I am now running. I created a new IP address and reworked sharing. It took some talking to my internet service provider but I am once again well simcommencted. Peter.
  2. I have run ASE since it was released on a two computer set up and I now want to upgrade to 2012 but simconnect has failed with my internet supplier replacing my router with a higher speed combination modem and router. The Traffic AI will not connect. Before upgrading I would like to know if there is something simple required to get me going like opening a port or ports or changing an IP address. Any help will be much appreciated.
  3. I am afraid this has gotten beyond me. I have a server (FS box) static IP address in the XML file that I can't seem to change and the router address does not appear in either the XML or config file. I have looked at the web page and reworked my way through the Squawkbox instalation guide for simconnect but, if I ever was, I am not now sufficiently computer savy to follow it. I am wondering how I ever managed to configure simconnect and get it working as I once did. I am going to have to get some technical assistance to get back into the game. But thanks very much for the suggestions.Peter.
  4. Thanks indeed. I will work at it when I get a little time and let you know.
  5. Thanks indeed for your response. I do have a new address for the router but I am not sure what difference that should make or for that matter what to do about it. It has been a long time since I paired my computers with Simconnect and I am having trouble remembering how it all goes together.Peter
  6. Thanks very much. Just what I was looking for. Peter.
  7. I am looking to replace my tired rudder pedals to fly the ngx and would like to know if anyone has any experience using these pedals made by dhs Electorinic with this or a similar plane. They are more expensive than the Saitek Pro Flight pedals and I wondering if they are worth the price difference.Peter Lowry
  8. I have operated ASE and SquwakBox with a two computer setup using SimConnect for some time. My modem and router have just now been upgraded and, while the computers are connected as usual, SimConnect won't connect (AI Traffic sample is dead). I can't remember what if anything I need to do with respect to the modem that would fix the problem and would very much appreciate any assistance anyone might be able to give me.Peter.
  9. Thanks again. I use Active Sky (Evolution) which has its own wind smoothing and some instruction on how to address weather problems for more sensitive aircraft like the MD-11, but that does not seem to overcome the instability in my power settings. I will try your FSUIPC settings and see what happens. Peter.
  10. Thanks for your comment Dan. I have all turbulence turned off and I have tried to fix things with FSUIPC smoothing. Perhaps I just have to work with it some more. Any suggestions about the setting for wind smoothing might be helpful. Peter.
  11. When the airplane is flying at a cruising altitude with the autothrottle engaged I find the power settings are frequently unstable. For a period of some minutes all three N1 values range up and down together by as much as 10% if not somewhat more. The N2 and fuel consumption values follow as do the graphically displayed throttles. Much of the time the power is quite solid (N1 of 90% with the GE engines and 79% with the PW engines), but then for some reason it becomes unstable. It appears to occur only when the autothrottle is engaged. I would appreciate knowing whether this is a common problem and, if so, whether there is a fix. Peter Lowry.
  12. Well that is comforting good news. Many thanks. Peter.
  13. I have too have been flying the excellent NG (as well as the MD-11) and looking forward to the NGX for some time. I am, however, disappointed to find no 2D view for the JS41. Having always used only that view, I am concerned this may be signalling the end of 2D for PMDG. Like me I am sure there are others who would welcome any indication that can be given now as to whether a 2D view will be a feature of the NGX which otherwise I have no doubt will be more than worth the wait for its release. Peter Lowry
  14. I think you will find your autobrakes will now be armed on some setting all the time so the cockpit switch is not functioning. I solved my problem by calibrating the brakes in FSX (not FSUIPC) and creating a substantial null zone - at least one third of the slider. Since doing that, they have worked fine every time. Peter.
  15. They work! - finally. I disabled the brake calibration in FUSIPC and set a significant null zone with the FSX calibration sliders. I set the sensitivity slider at two-thirds and the null zone slider one third to the right. The autobrakes engaged twice on rejected takeoffs and four out of four times on landing, stopping the airplane in the table distance. The ABS Disarm did not illuminate until the toebrakes were applied. Many thanks indeed. I appear to be fixed. Peter.
