    Hello

I have been a flight simmer for 15+ years until stopping in 2017 for various reasons. I was using FS9 and flying commercial aircraft under ATC.

Now I am considering coming back, and would like some recommendations based on my desire to:

    1. fly short-medium haul planes like the 737NG, A320 or 717, highly realistic and trustworthy system-wise (I don't care too much about the aerodynamic realism)

    2. fly under ATC, but off-line (I used to use RadarContact v4)

    3. fly with North America and the Caribbean

    4. have an AI environment with fully customizable and up-to-dateas much as practical"

Hi mate, to answer a few of your questions regarding Aircraft, ATC and realism , I use the following on every flight

Many will argue but I have all of the simulations available and I believe P3D has the longest legs (as well as a multi-billion, military backed corporation building it) So my money is (going) on P3D.

Aircraft: 737NG (all good, but getting a bit long in the tooth now, still love to fly it though) A320, most will say FSLabs, but I have both Aerosoft pro versions and the FSlabs, I think AS is more fun and (on my PC) runs the best. 717-200, I also have this aircraft, but at £59, I think I would go for the "Maddog".

ATC: No question in my mind, it has to be ProATC X, as of this moment, I believe, this is the best ATC available offline.

AI Traffic and ground service: Again I have all currently on offer and to my mind UTLive, best models and best fps. Ground service, well there is only one, GSX Level 2.

This video shows off all of the above to some degree, hope this helps.

      Thank you

      I appreciate the input.

It is very tempting to come back but I am not sure I will have enough time to dedicate to it, as it requires a lot of time, especially in setups and tweaks.

I owned the iFly 737 for FS9 and never liked it. So with a new rig, I would definitely go with the PMDG version. I also owned the Maddog but was frustrated by the bugs that would never be fixed in FS9. The only thing with the Maddog is there aren't too many real world flights you can take with it in North America, except for Delta Airlines.
