  1. Hey guys, I noticed that the historic weather downloading in ASX is much different than AS6. In ASX I seem to be able to only download one hour at a time to load and it doesn't seem to have a way of creating a file which automatically loads the next hour, then the next, so on as the sim progresses hour by hour like AS6. Is there a way to getting it to do this that I am missing? If so, how do I sync it with sim time, not system time?
  2. I'm sorry it has been over a week since the last update, but I do have some new previews:Since the last update, I have slanted the blue line at the front (it still needs a little more modification though), I have lightened the metal, and have added new windows and door/cargo door details.I still have to add the starboard-side baggage doors and some other minor details, dirt masks, a detailed alpha channel, and wing and engine textures.Once all of this is complete, I will begin work on the earlier N739PA "Clipper Morning Light" and a non-SCD "Clipper Maid of the Seas."
  3. I know of the several livery formats, and I intend to keep the quality of the aircraft. That's why this project will take several months, if not longer to complete. A lot of it is painting a livery format, then adjusting the Clipper titles and registration, then making whatever detail changes need to be made. The only thing that may not be entirely accurate is dirt masking, I will only be able to create a few to cover the entire fleet.I'm doing it because I have a great passion for the Pan Am 747 fleet. Of course, because resources are limited, every single livery and name combo won't be able to be created. Another thing that happened are planes that shared the same names, in which case, I will choose just one to paint. I may get exhausted as the project progresses and may decide to reduce the number of aircraft I'm painting, or paint some initially, go paint something else, then start another batch of PA 747s. But ultimately, I'd like each name, each registration number, and each livery format to be represented at least once. More the more historical aircraft, they may get more variations, i.e. N739PA and N736PA. N739PA was involved in the worst mid-air bombing in history, and N736PA was the first 747 to make a commercial service and was later involved in the single-deadliest day in aviation history. My initial goals aren't set in stone, but they are more or less a guideline of what I'd like to do, or get close to doing.
  4. Hello, I was wondering about a few things related to bump mapping. Can they be applied to any aircraft in FSX, how do I make one, and how do I apply one to a texture? If they can't be used with any aircraft, does anyone know if they can be used with the POSKY 747V4?
  5. Hello everyone. I'd like to announce a new painting project of mine.Project Pan Am is my objective to paint the entire known Pan Am 747 fleet, every registration number, and every Clipper title and livery they served Pan Am under. I've figured it will encompass upwards of 120+ variants (as many of Pan Am's 747 flew under several names and a few versions of the livery throughout their careers). All textures will be painted on POSKY's 747V4. The aircraft will be released in packages according to aircraft registration. In each package, all variants of said registered 747 will be included. The first package will be N739PA and will include at the moment 3 variants, "Clipper Morning Light," "Clipper Maid of the Seas," and "Clipper Maid of the Seas" Reserve Civil Air Fleet w/SCD. So, without further ado, the first few previews:I do need some help in research of the livery and name histories of the fleet, so if you have any details, I'd like to read them.Thank you.
  6. Hello, I have a little bit of an issue that perhaps you guys can help me with.Every once in a while in FSX, I will switch to VC view and the sim will freeze for a minute, that tell me that there has been a fatal error and asks me to restart FS.This problem was terrible up until yesterday when I reinstalled FSX and SP1, then it went away, and now it's occuring sometimes again, but not nearly as bad as before. Is this just a simple bug that occurs in the coding? Am I switching views too fast and it causes the sim to lock up? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.
  7. It isn't necessarily resolved. I just ended up looking at several other TM2 textures which all had the same problems, so I figured it is a model issue, however, I got it as good as I could get it.BTW, I'm thinking of doing some other Wien 732 livery variants, so if you are an afficionado of Wien, I think you will be interested.:-)
  8. Can anyone help me resolve this two texturing issues the the TM2 bird?"Puddling" on the top fuse, how do I make it blend with the rest of the fuse?Seems like mis-alignment, but I've tried re-aligning about 3 times, and this is the most perfect I can get it.If these are TM2 texture issues I am not aware of, please let me know, and any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hello, I am trying to use archived weather, so I download the archive, and AS tells me that hour's file will be default, but the display shows the last hour downloaded, in this case 6 hours ahead as the active weather file. Why is it reading from the wrong file? Also, when downloading archived weather, if I've downloaded the hours, will is automatically move to the next hour's file once an hour is up?
  10. I don't think there are many (if any) 787 panels out there because of lack of 787 cockpit references right now.
  11. Hey guys, I'm doing some flights with an Alaska 737-200 using the CIVA-INS 1.40 around some of the small airports, commercial bush flying. I was wondering that while on the ground at these airports, before flying to the next one, is it better to find a VOR near the airport (if there is one) to perform a DME update for the INS, or is it better to shut it down and realign it if I have time? I am following published Alaska flight schedules, so I usually have time, about 30 minutes on the ground at a time. Also, if I shouldn't DME update, I can assume DME update is only good for when I am in the air? And is DME updating efficient or necessary on short legs? Thanks in advance.
  12. When I land, I have spoilers armed, they deploy, and half the time, the autobrake INOP light comes on as soon as I touch down and I have to manually brake. I also use thrust reversers.
  13. I've got a problem with the flaps, they will only extend to 30 degrees, they won't go to 40. Why?Also, I've noticed that the autobrake strengths seem too weak. Is it just me or does the 732s autobrake really only produce the amount of stopping force simulated in the TM2 737?
  14. NM, I just reflew the flight and it worked fine.
  15. I am experiencing random CTDs and I don't know why. The only thing I can think that happened is I had to restart my computer and had to load my flight with the 737 from a saved file, which means the CIVA wouldn't be working. Why is the plane suddenly having problems?
  16. OK, now I have a question about Triple Mixing Updating.Do I fly towards a coordinate (ie next waypoint), then disconnect NAV mode, use the INS calculated heading and set the A/P Heading for that, then once over the coordinate, I quickly go to POS, right click the OLD Switch, insert the coordinate which I was flying towards and am now passing over on just one INS, right click a HOLD switch, then input WPT CHG 0-x, then Insert? How effective is this for updating, is DME updating better? Would this be useful for oceanic flying?
  17. Is there a more precise way to get coordinates in FSX for things like VORs than estimating by their position on the map grid (since their coordinates do not show when clicking on them in the map)?
  18. OK, thanks. It's a bit more clear now.:-)
  19. What if I am only using 1 INS unit (like on the TMII 737 panel)? Would I use Nav1 radio instead? Also, could I use a waypoint other than 1?And I'm relatively new to INS operation, what do you mean by Waypoint Change #1? Does that mean the INS will move to follow that track (if the VOR is off the planned track)? Also, when on long routes and having to re-enter points (ie after I pass waypoint 1, I put in Waypoint 10's info into the 1 slot), do I leave waypoint 0 alone? Will that always be position? Also, what about manual updating, for when I am over seas or remote areas?Sorry for all of my questions, but I found the CIVA manual and tutorial a bit confusing, so that's why I ask here. Thanks again.BTW, how could this have been done on Concorde if it didn't have any VORs to update with while over the ocean?
  20. Hey guys, I'm a little confused with DME Updating and Manual Updating the CIVA-INS 1.40 gauge, could somebody give me the steps to doing it?Thanks in advance.
  21. The Ctrl-Q and Ctrl-Shift-Q commands worked. I didn't see them in the commands menu though, but it works now.
  22. Hey guys, I am having serious issues with the 737. After INS alignment, I click the switch to NAV, and over the next few minutes, the API number that still displays rises past 5-6-7-8 then to 9, leading me to believe that my INS isn't accurate. What's the issue here? I had no action codes throughout the process. Also, when airborne I can't get the A/P to track the INS course. I don't know if this is because the INS is inaccurate or because I'm doing something wrong. I put both the F/D and A/P to VOR LOC and botht he AIL and ELEV paddles in the on position. What is going wrong? Thanks in advance for the help.
  23. How do tilt the 2D panel eyepoint up and down? I've tried the raise/lower seat buttons, but they only raise/lower the eyepoint. I am looking to tilt the eyepoint up and down (like in FS9) to get better visibility. Thanks.
