  1. Folks, I have solved the issue. I guess... I turned on VPN briefly and it worked. Go figure... 😦😦
  2. I have done the integrity check as well. Just to be sure, I have also disabled the cloud sync and uninstalled Steam and MSFS. Is there any further procedure to delete the cloud save?
  3. Also logging off steam did not help. 😓
  4. Even the safe mode does not load. Changing the screen resolution or windowed mode also no effect. Changing sound source, either.
  5. Right after Asobo's Logo. The spinning circle in the lower right corner. Sorry I don't know how to link the pic here but it is simply that.
  6. I tried reinstalling it but still the same bug persists. I have tried so far: -Sync the correct time in Win11 -Delete the cloud saves -Load the .exe under admin/compatibility for Win7/8, -Steam -FastLaunch option -Unplugged all USB/ USB-C devices -Delete all folders from Steam Version -Reinstalled Steam on another drive -Updated Nvidia Drivers/Win11 as well. -Checked for file’s integrity under Steam settings. I am running out of options and my last resort is to buy another MSFS from Win App Store…
  7. Yes, The SH series is something to remember. I currently check subsim.com. SH IV (I think III as well) using Stellarium is a great fun to determine your position using only a "snapshot" of the sky from your boat's position. I just gather the angle above the horizon and let the iphone app do the calculations until I learn to do it myself. Since my programming skill is zero I'll discuss this with my friend since he is an app developer. He's also interested in learning cel nav. We're going to download X-Plane 10 to check it out if this can be done. Designing a bubble-sextant just like the one used in the old days would require enormous efforts which we do not have time. A nice addition though. I bet that many sailors would use it just for navigation on sailboats and ships. Crossing the ocean in a 314 Clipper would be very welcomed. There is a bubble sextant add-on for the FS2004/FSX but I haven't tried it yet. I am kind of retiring those sims. For a quick work-around I was looking for something simple as having a camera view and having a cursor/marker at the center then wherever I 'd look I would have the angle above the horizon displayed. Then I would just look at a celestial body. Thanks for the heads up. I'll see to it.
  8. Which one you got? I plan to buy the ASTRA VII because it has a "bubble" for training in-land when there is no ocean which is my case since I live at least 100 miles to the nearest coast. There are some books regarding Cel NAV "for dummies" at Amazon.com but a specific site for that I still have to find. Cheers. ps: http://www.boat-links.com/linklists/boatlink-34.html
  9. Yes that's all I need. A simple tool to look at something using one of the views and having the angle above the horizon given. No hassle in designing a sextant within the sim. A while ago one of the staff (Xplane) wrote me that it was in their plans such feature but so far nothing. Since I lack the skill I was begging for help here. And yes, the "old stuff" is much better. Having to plot , DR, Celnav. Amazing that it's been done for centuries that way. The "self-satisfaction" that a person gets when not relying on electronic devices is beyond words. I've actually got inspired by a real life event that I've heard. One experienced sailboat owner decided to cross the ocean to South Africa from Brazil. After the 6th day he returned because he either dropped or broke his gps I can't recall but he then went to study celnav saying "bloody gps!" Playing the Silent Hunter submarine game using Stellarium and Celnav (from iPhone app) was a big factor as well. I just find unrealistic in the 1940's to have my sub position displayed 100% accurate on the map chart.
  10. Hi all, I do not know if this is the right place. Anyway I'd like to suggest to any developer or X-Plane staff the ability to have a sextant available for use in a ship or an aircraft. Flying Boeing's 314 "Clipper" the way it was real flown navigating with dead reckoning and Celestial navigation must be something to cherish. I know that it takes time and lots of programming to design such a utility within X-Plane but I'd be happy to have a simple "Point at a Star/Planet/Sun then get angle above horizon with a certain margin of error". No need to identify the celestial body nor do all the calculations to pinpoint your location. This feature is in the Virtual Sailor software but sailing in X-Plane's world is much more fun. Yes I know GPS is used but I'm learning Cel nav and I'd love to sail in X-Plane by myself. No GPS, cellphone etc. tks
  11. Hello all,I'd like to suggest (my programming skills is zero btw), to have a sextant tool just like Virtual Sailor's. I'd like to sail using Celestial Navigation and also by air (DC-3 etc..) with a "bubble" sextant. Sailing in Virtual Sailor is good but the greatness in the scenery of X-plane 10 is a lot more fun.
  12. That sucks.. :(
  13. Hi. Tried to search first but no results. (Yes. ZERO!!! Nada...)Anyway...Do any of PMDG's aircraft for FSX have the ability to share the same cockpit in a Multiplayer session? Or Am I limited to the default ones??? I think it's a lot of data to process though...thanks...
  14. Hi there...I've had the Go Flight's MCP Pro for a while but still I can't make it work with PMDG's B737NG. I need to know from other users if the B737NG from Ariane's might work. I know that for the PMDG's case in order to have it working there was a module but it got discontinued and is no longer available to buy. If the Ariane's B737NG does not work...well, there's Cpflight's MCP to buy....comments anyone??? thanks
  15. People,I just use two 22", the second one has the overhead, the two CDUs, throttle panel, the radio stack plus the Lower DU. All are displayed and there are no pop up panels witch I hate to use. All are fully displayed at all times at a glance. The radio panel from PMDG uses a big space to be readable and I think that it could be more efficient. I wanted the default panel from the Cessna to suit my needs and the only disadvantage is the lack of a second ADF but I can still select it using the PMDF radio stack. That's it.
  16. Mark it worked!!!Now I can fly setting up comms easily... I was editing the main panel not the VC...!!!! Thanks a loooot!!!!! :( B) B) :( :(
  17. The font is small and it uses a big space on my screen, the smaller it is the harder to read. The default Cessna to me is a lot faster and easier to set up. THe drawback is that there is no second ADF but I only take a couple of seconds to set up an approach. I tried editing myself the panel.cfg to add, not to replace the radio stack but no good. The panel remains against Obama's policy, it is unchangeable.... :( BTW, there I noticed that in the panel.cfg there is a section left out, an IRS gauge... Probably will be used for a future update I guess. If anyone can do this I reeeeeaaaaaally appreciate.thanx
  18. Hi there, Does anyone know how to add the default C172 radio stack gauge into 737NG from PMDG?I tried editing the panel.cfg but it did not make any difference.thanx
  19. thanks man, will have to make some plans then..chers
  20. Hi there,Does anyone know how to make AI Aardvark planes to show up with the "Explorer" plug in under TOOLS menu? It's the utility that comes with TRAFFIC SDK from FS2004. I do have the AI traffic planes installed but I only see them when they are assigned to a flightplan. thanks
  21. Hi there.I would like to know if there is a keyboard shortcut to type in directly from the keyboard into the scratch pad instead of clicking on the keys.Other things I need to know:-Is there a panel which has a F/O side?-Is there a way to have 2 FMCs displayed? (like PMDG)thanx
  22. Thanks Ray. Looking forward for RC in FSX.Hmmmm. Just to be certain. No downloadable version when it comes out right? Have you received orders to send a CD to Brazil? No problems at all in the delivery process?
  23. Hi there.I read the RC4 manual but I still have some questions:-How does RC4 interacts with FS9's AI? Do I hear chatter from FS9 or a customized RC4 version? -Does RC4's ATC vectors AI and the AI replies? -Is RC going to have speech recognition implemented some day? I was terribly disappointed by MS by not having FSX ATC improved at all. Not even having a HOLD feature. What a shame.

Thanks. Still gotta use a payware traffic then. Too bad!
  25. Hi there.the SDK Traffic Builder is an excellent tool for creating instant AI traffic bgls for those who do not care for real life flight schedule realism. Well, I would like to know if the FSX's SDK version has an option in its config file about letting the builder know which country the aircraft are from.In the FS9's version the builder would create traffic but the problem was that aircaft departing from a country outside the US would still hold a Nxxxxx tail number. To get around that Traffic Tools and a renamer tool was required to recompile the whole traffic with proper random tail assignment based on the route's departure country.Another annoying thing is that the builder cannot distinguish airlines. So if a B737 from American Airlines is inserted in the list the builder would simply assign it to fly the whole world. This feature is only OK when the list has widebodies and common small aircraft flown worldwide.I just know so far that an enhancement has been made in the FSX SDK that now it is possible to assign the correct tail number with the correct country. I would like to know if now the builder knows not only the correct tail number but to properly generate flights from airliners in their respective countries. (B737 from AA only in America, JAL B737 only around Japan etc).
