AI Helos, and Day/Night AI traffic

Featured Replies

Hi there folks. Is there going to be AI traffic with helos? Other thing, MS' "Traffic Builder" that came with 2004's SDK has an option of creating AI traffic with a certain percentage of flying either IFR or VFR. Problem is that I had Piper Cubs flying VFR at night. Are we going to have an option to set AI aircfaft day and/or night flights certified?

"roblem is that I had Piper Cubs flying VFR at night. "And why shouldn't they fly VFR at night? Ofcourse they can fly VFR and they can fly IFR too..if they have all the required instruments and guages.Manny

I meant that it's weird seeing a Piper Cub at around midnight doing a IMC flight in the middle of a storm. I just want to know if in FSX this will be configurable.

AI flight plans have always been configurable as you describe. The best way to avoid the issue is to write 24HR or WEEK flight plans - that way you know what is day and what is night. Many of the default plans are 2HR and 4HR - so the cycle repeats day or night. As far as weather - you can't make some flight plans work in good weather and not work in bad weather.Haven't seen anything on AI helicopters yet.

Hi Reggie. I just use the automatic feature from the FS Builder wich it is based on the percentage IFR/VFR wich doen'st have a "Day Flights only? YES/NO" feature. Don't have the patience creating individual flight plans for all acft.yugo

It is more of a problem with you not wanting to do it or explore the possiblilites of flightplan making.
