I am trying to make a fs9 xml work in fsx. It's for auto rudder switching. Here is what I have for fs9. Seems to me the first 'value' is holding me up. I have tried a number of things but nothing seems to work. I think if the comparison of Var1 returns a 2 it quits right there and will not go foreward. I do not fully understand XML syntax so therefore I am at a standstill. Comments or help will be greatly appreciated. I notice there is only one key F12 that invokes a tail only camera view. I managed to re-assign a combination of ctrl+shift+F1 for a wing view. I would like to know if anyone has a set of key combinations they use for invoking the different camera views. In the same vein there is a little program called 'fscamerax' by Gunnar Daehling that will generate camera view text files for inserting in the aircraft cfg file. It looks pretty good although I haven't put it the test yet. Any input will be appreciated. Paul

My computer is a HP p7 pavillion with 6 gig mem and quad core amd cpu. Win7. No problems with FSX. On board sound and graphics AMD Radion. 1 T/B drive. Really pleased with it so far.

I am getting into Windows movie maker. I am looking for a codec that will handle the FSX video files which have the .fsr extension. I have looked around the internet for such a codec but no luck so far. Or maybe I should just give up and try using FRAPS. I suppose I am on a fishing expedition here. Any comments will be helpful. Again, thanks for the replies. In my case, HP computer with onboard sound thingy, I fooled around with the sound settings tab. In my case I chose the second of three choices. The first was default settings. The second was ' headphones, etc' and the third one I can't remember. Anyway, I chose the second one relating to the headphones (and whatever) and that cured the problem. I hope my answer is not too confusing as I realize not every one has the same computer that I have. Thanks again, people. Regards , Paul

Thanks for the replies. I haven't had much time to check things out but in the sound setting tab in fx I checked 'use default devices'. I will check things out again and make sure what I did was correct and repost here. Paul

My engine (all?) sounds fade away and then come back. Is there a tweak I could use in the cfg file to cure this? It is an annoying situation. Computer is an hp p7-1154 with AMD Quad core A6-3600 processor. Thanks in advance, Paul

I have an old rwy12 creation that I need to delete and restart. Where does rwy12 deposit the bgl file when it's created? I changed computers and have been doing search on search using as many search targets I could think of.. I am pretty sure it has become a rougue file that defies locaton. I can't remember how I named it a few years ago. I found an xml file that relates but don't know what to do with it. I don't know where to look for the bgl.

I think I am squared away now. just a little dumb

I have Abacus EZ scenery. After a lot of searching I found a Q&A on their web site that addressed this problem. It looks as if the program is buggy and will not tolerate certain things. The best they could offer was a work-around. Inasmuch as that is the case, I am about to delete it from my machine and never go back to it. So for me, it's problem solved. I like ADE. Registered version on two computers. One win 7 the other win xp. I didn't mention that I have ADE on the win 7 machine. I wonder if that is the problem. Also ever since I put itin the XP machine (also the w7 one) the cursor keeps leaving the scene and it makes it tough to navigate around. As I mentioned ,I can place objects OK on the XP machine but not the win7 one. The one (7) tells me the bgl type is not compatible so I have to quit it. Still scratching my head.

I Just tried to install EZ scenery on my new computer running Windows seven. My old machine is running W Xp and that seems to work OK (except the cursor keep going away). I tried to re-install it but that didn't help. I seem to be missing something but I don't know how to correct it. When I go to a pristine airport and try to add an object the program wants to install it at a different airport (??). The program will also tell me that the file format doesn't match. Very frustrating. Any comments that will point me in the right direction will be appreciated

Tinhead59...I am good to go now. I just reduced the size and dragged it where I wanred it. Thanks for the tip. And thanks to other responders as well.

That is weird. I just added scenery. I ended up having to go into the scenery config file and edit the entry there for it to work. I looked for similar entries and emulated one of them to make my addition work. Frustrating. That was for fs9.
