  1. Are there HSIs written in XML code? The reason I ask is that I flew a machine for about 5 years that was equipped with duals HSIs. Any existing HSIs for FS are coupled to nav 1. Is it possible to reprogram an HSI guauge (assuming its XML) to couple to nav 2? If not then I will live with what I have. Oh, well.Paul
  2. Scot, thanks for the heads up. I was thinking that might be the case.
  3. The exterior model looked nice. The developer took too many liberties with panel. Obviously he had never seen the panel of an old fastback. I owned one of those things. When Cessna built those things they used miltary surplus stuff. The gyrocampass was an old horizontal moving card device. My gyro horizon was built by C G Conn ltd of Elkhart Indiand under license from the sperry gyroscope company. Mine was ser no.81085B. I know that because I still have it. I had an old Narco "coffee grinder" radio and a "newer" 360 channel navcom. Also the yokes are not vintage. In short, I would not purchase that product unless the panel was a true 1958 arrangement. Sorry about that. Better luck next time.Paul
  4. I am am having trouble with the gate positions on some airports. (addon scenery). I am using RFP B747-100. It seems the plane will not position itself properly. The nose wheel is not where it is supposed to be and in some cases the nose in penetrating the building. I have been playing around with the afcad file and nothing seems to work. Other 747s align properly. Any comments will be appreciated.Paul
  5. I owned a C172 and a Bellanca Super Viking. The 172s high wing didn't give me any GE problems and the viking was too heavy to cause any problems. I have also flown some of the PA28 series. No real problems there either. THe most important thing missing from Flite sims is "seat of the pants" input. I don't think anyone has the wherewithall to buy an expensive "flying chair" that reacts to force feedback. Well, anyway, It's only a game. Lots of practice and fiddling around will get you comfortable with the sim.Cheers, Paul.
  6. I just downloaded simufly's Delco Carousel INS system. I used the sample panel.cfg for the stock 747-400. I can't seem to get past entering the N lat figures. I have been reading the docs. I think I must be missing something. The other thing that has me stumped is getting the ADEU to show up so I can enter waypoint data for the sample KBOS-KMIA tutorial flight. The windows are all used up so I guess I wll have to eliminate the clock so I can get thde ADEU in there. I really think my head isn't screwed on tight enough. BTW, all the gauges are buried in the software and FSPS can't load them. Any comments?
  7. I have a panel that has in it the VC descriptions. The MDL file is rsponsible for whether or not the VC will work.(I think). Is the MDL file someting that needs to de-compiled? What language is it written in ? in short, what do I need to do to the MDL file to make the VC work? Thanks!, Paul
  8. I hope someone can give me some advice. When I click on the nav button on the bendix-king Ap the Alt hold kicks in and locks in the value that shows in the VSI. The VSI value has to be dead on zero so that the plane doesn't climb or decend. Using the trim wheel doesn't do any good. The other anomaly I have noticed is that when the radial is intercepted the AP make the plane do S turns until it settles down and tracks properly. Another question. Is there a way to make the AP track (work) on nav 2? Maybe FS is coded so that it wont work that way but it would be nice if it did.Paul
