  1. 100% right about that...Having a good driver is EXTREMELY important.
  2. I'm no expert but even tough the HD3870 is an amazing video card it ain't as fast as the 8800GTS.3D clouds are VERY demanding and you need a very fast core and memory clock on your Video cardEDIT:Another question do you have the 512mb or the 1Gb model? If you have the 512mb model and your 8800GTS was the 640mb model than you probably have somewhat an answer...Less video ram on your HD3870.
  3. There's a good payware (not expensive) package made by HTAI for Cessnas. I also downloaded a couple of AI Beechs and Pipers from the library (search BEECH or PIPER under the AI aircraft category). After that I removed the Traffic file (.bgl) created by the HTAI installer and created my own flightplans using GA-TRAFFIC by Markus Brunner, it's really easy to use if you read the documentation and run a couple of experiments.Don't forget to have better AFCADs for your GA traffic (no parkings, no planes!) And make sure in the GA-TRAFFIC program to remove any add-on aircrafts from the planes selection list, it's gonna kill your frames!Sorry for the long post, but this stuff is really working for me!Matt

I use GA-Traffic, for the flightplans, I use HTAI Cessna pack (payware, not expensive but excellent stuff) I still dream about the Piper package.GA-traffic is in the library. And you go to htaimodels.com to get the cessna pack. After that it's up to you. I know there's a couple of piper models out there for AI traffic and some other stuff. As for GA-Traffic I have a little tip for you, in the planes tab use the numbers from the default piper cub for a couple of the smaller cessnas (152-172 etc...) that way I get a good variety of aircrafts at really small airfields. I even get 152s in small grass strips! I love it. That's for GA traffic. I use Ultimate GA for bizjets and Ultimate traffic (with better models) for commercial AI.Good luck!
  5. I reinstalled FS9 on a new computer and everything is going just fine but when I installed GA-Traffic (a program I can't live without for my AI general aviation traffic) when it's loading the airports the program stop working. So I can't use it...I've tried reinstall, running as Admin, Allow User access in the security tab, running in windows xp compatibility, everything. If someone could help me please or could anyone recommend a good solution to replace GA-Traffic (I'm already using Ultimate Traffic for my commercial AI and UltimteGA stuff for my Bizjets. I just want cessnas and pipers at my small airfields.By the way GA-Traffic always stop working at Hounde airport (???) I've tried modifying the afcad but nothing seems to be working
  6. Nevin, where did you get the Twotter? you know the one from the screenshots?

Speaking of Vista... Did any of you had problems using GA-Traffic version 1.1 by Markus Brunner on Vista?Sometimes it reads an airport using only the default AFCAD.Ex: I have a CYHU AFCAD with 38 parking spots but when I collect airports using GA-Traffic it still reads only 8 parking spots (default).I'm suspecting this is a Vista problem. Probably my security settings (GA-Traffic can't read a file because it's not allowed by Vista).Anyways... The rest of my FS9 stuff runs super good on Vista!
  8. Hi, sorry this is not Holger but if there's more than one person with the same problem we have better chance of finding a solution.I had the same problem with the British Columbia for Ultimate Terrain. In the install procedures I need to drop a folder containing two .bat files, one for install and one for uninstall. When I clicked nothing happened, except for a dos windows for a brief moment, but no files appeared. Are you using Vista? I think that's part of the problem. Well I think it is for me...
  9. I'm sorry... I've found the solution just add PAN_IN_COCKPIT=1 in the .cfgproblem solved!!!I LOVE FLIGHT SIMULATOR !!!thanks.
  10. Hello. I'm a new user here so please don't beat me up...I've been enjoying my dual monitor setup. I'm still learning how to fly VFR correctly with flight1's Cessna 172.I'm usually setting up my main panel, and radio stack on one monitor and I use a full front view on the other monitor. The problem is that when I prepare to land I like to keep an eye on the runway and I usually do this using the hat switch in the VC.My question is, is there a way to remove the VC panels and use my hat switch to pan around in the VC view??? I'm using my main panel on the other monitor so there's no need for the cockpit but I really enjoy to pan and lock my view with the hat switch.
