  1. Is there no one that can help me here?Hope I can get some good advice from a more experienced user!
  2. Thanks for everyone who replied to my original question.Yes I suspect that I would go for the FSX version, due to it being the turbocharged version, however I am am only running FS 9 right now.I am currently spending all my available cash on completing my PPL course, although I often look on with envy at all the fabulous addons that are being produced for FSX right now.I am currently flying the C152 in real life, and have to say that the Carenado version (which I own) is an extremely good representation of the real thing.Best regards,Chris
  3. Hi all,Sorry if this question has been asked/answered before, but having read through lots of previous posts , I have been unable to find an answer to my question....I have Active sky 6.5, and use FS9I have had excellent results with active sky regarding real life weather, and as I live in Glasgow, currently have EGPF (Glasgow) set up as my default weather station.I am currently close to completing my PPL course, and am delighted to say that the weather in my sim frequently mirrors very closely what I see out of my window! My question however refers to the active sky graphics part of the progamme. Is this a 'stand alone' part of Active sky, or can it only be used when active sky main programme is running?I have tried using the graphics programme both with and without the main programme running, but in any case can't seem to get it do what I think it should....For example, if I choose a 'sky theme', then select 'dew point', save it to Fs then start up my sim, it doesn't seem to show me the chosen theme.Do I need to indicate a location for this weather to show up, or am I missing something here?Any advice would be gratefully received!Best regards,Chris Liddell
  4. Hi all,Hope I can get some advice regarding the C-210.I am considering purchasing the 210 Centurion for FS9.I currently use FS9 and was wondering if the FS9 version of the 210, models the same aircraft type as the FSX version? It seems that the FSX version is the turbo 210 whereas the FS9 version is the normally aspirated one?Any advice would be gratefully received - thanks!Chris.
  5. Thanks everyone.I have just downloaded snapper, and it seems to work very nicely despite my limited PC skills..............Now off to the screenshot forum...............
  6. Hello all.Can anyone help me please. What (preferably freeware) software would anyone recommend for taking multiple screenshots?Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
  7. Hello all and thanks for all your thoughts. To cover a few of these points - the pilot concerned wasn't a relief crew, and as far as I could see was happily chatting up the flight attendants!Maybe I am being too sensitive, but given the events of the recent past, I really would have thought that any opportunity for any non authorised person to gain entry to the flight deck during a flight would have been eliminated by strict procedures.I believe that long haul jets have crew rest areas, which do not require visits through the main cabin? Now obviously the pilots need to go to the toilet and get refreshments, but I would have thought there were ways round that. The toilet into which I was going was literally one foot from the flight deck door, in fact I had to squeeze around the pilot in question in order to gain access, and despite the (half)drawn curtain, there were no restrictions on passenger movement in this area. Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this thread.I do have an ATP contact, and the next time I get the chance to chat with him, I will ask him what he thinks of this matter.I suspect(as has already been suggested) that this sort of issue is fairly commmonplace - maybe I am just being too paranoid!
  8. Hello all.Just a post to ask if anyone out there knows much about current airline security issues.I just returned to Scotland from a pleasant holiday in Lanzerote. On the flight back in a B757, I was surprised/amazed/concerned to see the first officer standing in the forward galley just in front of the flight deck, and in front of the toilet which I was going to use.I presume that the flight deck door was locked, but although the cabin crew had drawn a curtain to hide this from view, he obviously had to exit then re-enter the flight deck.I don't think he was even using the toilet, and the flight only lasted 4 hrs.Does anyone have any similar experience?I would have thought that post 9/11 such trips into the cabin area by flight crew enroute would have been forbidden? Interested to hear what anyone else might think about this issue.
  9. Hi Bob.Thanks very much for your detailed response - it is very much appreciated. Thanks again,All the best from'Bonnie Scotland''Cheers
  10. Hi and thanks for your advice.I seem so have sorted the problem out,and indeed I checked assignments in FS9, which seems to have defaulted to assigning the mixture to the rudder pedals, and the prop to the mixture etc ..........you get the idea!?So - having re assigned things we seem to be up and running - but just out of interest can anyone explain why running the CH programme manager seems to have caused this?In any case thanks for all your help!Cheers,
  11. Thanks for the advice.I have now downloaded the CH device manager ,and the a/c seems to be flying straight! However, despite following the simple steps to calibrate the yoke, I am now having the following problem:When calibrating the prop and mixture, the movement of the levers is detected by the manager programme, but when I fly the a/c the mixture does not work , and the mixture lever now operates the props! What should I do ? - help!Best regards,
  12. Hello all - hope someone out there can help me.I have a CH products yoke, which I have used with no probs for about 2 yrs.Recently I have been having some problems (which may not be related to the yoke specifically)Sometimes when flying the a/c leans - banks to the left - the vc yoke is leaning to the left, and although pressing the no 5 levels the ailerons, the monent you use the yoke again it leans once more.On the ground the left aileron is visibly in a left banked position.I can sort the problem by recalibrating the yoke, but the problem is still there on an intermittent basis.Any suggestions? Is it that the yoke is sending the wrong signal? The little box with the moving cross in it usually shows it to be left of centre when it is playing up.Thanks for any advice.Best regards. Chris Liddell
  13. Can someone explain what the anti ailiasing function does? (I hope I have spelt it correctly!)When I check the box it seems to cause difficulty in accessing some of the menus in the top bar (ie what you see after pressing alt)There is no problem with the basic functions, but some of the drop down menus from various add ons - when you click something in the menu, the screen just freezes and short of rebooting, I can't get anything to work at all.I have vista home premium, run FS9 'as administator' and otherwise my system is running well ( I turn off my anti virus when simming)Thansk for any help. Cheers. PS My original reason for checking the ailiasing box was due to the fact that I was getting some distortion on screen - this has cured it.
  14. Hi Ryan,Sorry for the late reply - just realised that you had responded to my question.I have now tried to install the liveries via the right click run as administrator - same problem, the only 600 that appears on my a/c menu is the default PMDG one.The 700's are fine - any idea as to what I might do?Thanks!PS one new question also - I am having problems with the failures menu.I never used failures before on my old PC,but some seem to work , and other say that they are already failed when nothing has happened.Cheers,
