p3d 2.2 stuttering and single digit fps on i-4670K & GTX760 4GB
Hello all, I've been following all the updates on P3D and have P3D v2.2 installed with Orbx Global and a couple of other third party addons (Justflight's Traffic X and Aerosoft's Mega Airport Brussels X) imported using the EMT. I am also using REX I seem to get widely fluctuating fps (and stutters) and inconsistency: one day it will be in the forties or fifties and today for example, the sim was in the single digits when sitting on the active runway at EGCC. I also experience crackling sounds which seem to be in sync with the stuttering and I have tried to reduce the quality of hardware acceleration in Windows 7. Within P3D, I've tried a number of the configurations regarding cloud shadows off/on and other suggestions (e.g. the cloud layer fix) but today when I began the weather theme was Fair Weather. can anyone suggest any other things to try? Tessellation is on and fps is set to unlimited with VSync on. Specs: - Win 7 64bit - Intel I-4670K overclocked to 4.4Ghz (temps at idle 30c and under load 60c) - MSI GTX 760 4GB - 8 GB RAM - P3D 2.2 stored on a HDD with O/S on an SSD Is there anything else that people on here can suggest or point me to, that might be the culprit? I've also tried to remove addons in logical order to see what the problem is, with no substantial difference. Thanks!

New Videocard or more memory?
neilydone replied to neilydone's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThanks very much all for the tips and advice.I had heard about the 3GB switch.I am assuming that this card will likely present a good general perf increase over and above what I already have? I am assuming I shoudl go for a 512MB or above 9800?Thanks!Neil

New Videocard or more memory?
Hi all,I am interested in views / advice as to whether I should get a new videocard or more memory to run FSX on Win XP / 7 system. My system is Win XP / 7 dual boot and I run both FSX and FS9 with a range of commercial addons. I have 2GB RAM, a overclocked E6850 CPU currently running at 3.6Ghz and a PCI X1950 Pro 512MB card.Currently under FSX my system runs with quite a lot of stuttering which I am keen to reduce if possible. The addons I run are Traffic X (airline traffic at 30%) UTX, GEX and REX. I am not trying to run with settings on mad levels, having Autogen at normal. I have turned cars way down in UTX.Thus the question is would it be best to get a new card or another 2GB memory? If a card, what sort? I read with some interest the posts that indicate a Radeon 4650 would be sufficient (but this does not seem to be markedly more than the card I have at the present time). Thanks in advance!Neil

cannot uninstall VoX ATC X demo
Hi All,I have Vox ATC 2004 UK edition (v3.27) and the VoX ATC X demo installed on one HDD, along with the respective installs of FS 2004 and FSX demo.I un-installed the FSX demo and then tried to un-install VoX ATC but I keep getting a 'Object Reference not set to an instance of an object' when trying to un-install. I've tried to remove this via the Add/Remove programs list in Control Panel, and via executing the VASetup.msi but with still varying types of the same result. What can I do? I fear this is interfering with my tweaked FS2004 set up, because I now cannot use flightplans: nearly everytime I start VoX ATC it tells me that there is no flightplan loaded despite me creating it in either Flight Sim or FS Commander and occasionally it gives me the dreaded FATAL Error. These saved flight plans worked for me before, but all of a sudden they decided to stop working. I've gotten so used to this program, that using the default is no longer an option!Cheers,NEil

deaf AI?
I just noticed that on a couple of flights, when I have been flying to GA airports in the multiplayer session, sometimes the tower controller will ask a plane to leave the runway at the first exit, but then he will get into a loop as the AI plane responds 'Last a/c say again' followed by Twr saying 'Golf 327 turn next available taxiway' - cue endless and endless looping....I wonder if this is a similar issue to what Jiri is experiencing? I am using Gary Summons UK 2000 airport scenery packs.failing that is their anyway to break this cycle, especially as I start to see fumes coming out the back of my crate :( as I am on the approach!Cheers,Neil

glad to see you may be able to find an answer to this - sorry I couldn't help you more....Neil

multiplayer settings
VoXATC should use the same models as any traffic add-on, but not the flightplans, which it creates itself dynamically according to its own engine.I am not familar with Ultimate Traffic, but I think there is a post about using this add-on on this forum which you can find....Sorry I can't be more help, but it seems that if you have the standard FS9 traffic running (using whatever add-on you have) plus VoX multiplayer generated traffic, then this could be the reason you are running into other a/c on the taxiways.....Neil

multiplayer settings
Hi all, firstly, Jiri I don't really mind it - its not something that noticable to be honest. On one or two occasions I have heard the Tower give a/c taxying instructions in the same direction as me for the same runway, so I don't know if there is something wrong with your set up. I often get 'Cannot comply now, runway in use' that sort of thing, along with hold position commands when on the taxiways. It may be that your Ultimate Traffic has its own traffic routines interfering with VoXATC own generated session. HAve you made sure to turn off the 'default' FS9 traffic? However, I understand this logic will be improved in all the VoX ATC X versions (if you want to see the difference I guess you could try the demo for FSX).On the AdvDisp thing I found that it works a treat :-cool ! Thanks for the tip, Richard! I am one happy bunny! :-) I now set up the window, the annoying messages appear and then I select 'always hide' and bingo! away they go! Then start VoXATC MP sesssion. I'd HIGHLY recommend this workaround to further improve the sense of immersion that VoXATC provides!Neil

multiplayer settings
I am very much enjoying using VoX ATC UK for FS9 (v3.27) and awaiting the AT&T voices with some anticipation (although I find that the robotic voices do not annoy me as much as the crazy approach vectors by default ATC ;-)It also works great with my Traffic 2005 addon in multiplayer. However, I have one question and that is whether there is any easy way to disable the green boxes that come up with the 'speedbird245 has joined the session' message, when connected to the VoXATC multiplayer session. I find it detracts from the incredible sense of realism that this program allows....I've read various postings etc about altering the language.dll file and adding in lines to fs9.cfg (for removing general red text lines like 'main exit opening;') but I would be dearly interested to hear if any knows what setting is being used and whether it can be turned offCheers,Neil

VoxATC UK and extra voices
You have to purchase the additional voices, which are available on the DVD edition (GBP49.95) - I think this is for the FS9 UK version and the VoxATC X UK.I understand that they will be in stock Feb/Mar.Neil

VoxATC UK & Traffic 2005
Hi all,I recently downloaded the VOXATC UK demo and I must say on first impressions it is great! However, before purchasing, I have two questions that I have been unable to find answers to, despite searching on this forum.1. Does it integrate with the Traffic 2005 add-on? I read in a post elsewhere on this forum that it does ("VoXATC 4 and an apology" response from tegwyn 12th Aug) that VoxATC UK currently does this, yet cannot see that this is the case. It would be nice to see all the a/c that I've shelled out for interacting properly with the ATC.2. What is the difference between the VoXATC version available for download, and the version available at RC Simulations (which, at GBP49.95 is some GBP15 more expensive). Thanks in advance,Neil
