VNAV PATH expected and calculated
I have a question about 737 and VNAV PATH.I've been reading through dozens of VNAV posts, but couldn't find anything (yet). In the picture below I have tried to draw a VNAV PATH with multiple altitude constraints (not to scale).I was surprised to see that the FMC calculates the VNAV PATH as in the red dotted line. This means that, when flying, the initial descent is at (app.) VS -2400, whereas the following descents are at (app.) VS -800. It seems that the FMC calculates the VNAV PATH from one constraint to the next one.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/187236.jpgI was expecting the VNAV PATH to be as the blue line, where the FMC is calculating a TOD for each segement between constraints.BTW This is including getting rid of the magenta vnav bug after each constraint. Also, I'm not a RW pilot and I have no knowledge of 737's whatsoever, except from what I learn in this forum.Am I doing anything wrong or is this normal (PMDG) FMC behaviour?

Difference between 1900 D and 1900 C
Hi, I also have both and I rarely use the 1900D. Somehow it seems immature and very unbalanced in looks, avionics, VC, sound, and (surprisingly) flight dynamics. I'm surprised that it is still on the PMDG product list.

B1900C Express: realistic range
Great site! All you need to fly lifelike. I think I'll use it to copy flightplans and numbers to fly online. It also shows that B1900's are almost exclusively used for short trips (00:30 to 01:30 hours).Any reason why's that?Even at 2600 lbs the range should be app 3-4 hours flight, so 750-1000 nm.So where's the 527 coming from?

B1900C Express: realistic range
Hi,I'm really fond of flying this very balanced and versatile airplane. I have a question about the range that is mentionned in the manual: 527 nm with max fuel or, worse, 316 nm with max payload.I can't figure out where this number is coming from. The max fuel is 4500 lbs; at app 750 lbs/hr fuel consumption for fast cruise, the range would be somewhere between 1250 and 1750 depending on weather. At economy cruise the range would be between 1750 and 2250 nm.This includes taxi, t/o, climb, cruise climb, cruise, descent, landing, reserve, alternate airport. Can anyone here explain? Thanks

Error?
frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,Had forgotten to post back.Tried both, no results.Upgraded to 533, no result.Seems like I will have to live with it.As I said before, it's not very important.

Error?
frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi, I am very happy using ASv6 and ASG, but....there's something I was wondering.Look at the picture below. You can see that AS shows winds 200/9 whereas FS2004 shows 231/23. It's not a matter of AS not updating the weather, because the weather was updated regularly. FS2004 showed in the weather dialog winds 188/9.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/162310.jpgThanks for looking into it.

Error?
frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,Thanks for looking into it.It happens with every airport over 1500 ft. Sometimes more, sometimes less.Plus: it looks to me like FS and VATSIM and IVAO do find the right way to display current winds! In the end, since I do most flying on-line, I use ASv6 most for off-line training flights, so this error doesn't affect my FS experience.

Error?
frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi,I was thinking the same: maybe FS shows and uses the winds aloft, but that was not the case: the winds aloft are also very different.I was sitting on the runway several times before taking the snapshot, each for about 20 minutes. What bugs me, is that all aircraft FMC's use the wrong data, fortunately FSNavigator is picking up the right data. Strange thing is, that FS weather and on-line flying (VATSIM or IVAO) is showing the correct data.Well, whatever is causing it, we all agree that this is an error, which should be corrected. I hope to see an update soon.

Error?
frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,I thought so too. Point is, that FS weather seems to update the FS display and ASv6 or FSMeteo not. However, all FMC's read the data as displayed.HiFiSim might want to look for a way to update the FS display in accordance with the AS weather.

Error?
frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,AS runs on the same computer as FS, the WideFs is for RCv4.I don't know about other data, only thing I can see is the wind.Well...., rain and snow is OK. Clouds are difficult to tell, they all look the same. :D As far as I can tell, v6.5 is for FSX, which I don't use.Can you reproduce it on your PC?I noticed that FSMeteo shows the same behavior, so I think that FS2004 is obstructing with 3rd party weather software, the FS weather is OK. So is VATSIM and IVAO weather.Looks like FS is storing some weather data somewhere, that are not refreshed by AS and FSMeteo.

frank99 replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumJim,Let me know what you need to know to solve the problem. It seems that almost all stations are involved, but specially the ones at high altitudes, like Santa Fe or Bogota.

Checklist
Thanks, that put me on the right track. In addition to the normal liveries, I had downloaded some extra liveries. For each livery an extra [flightsim.x] section is added to aircraft.cfg for each model. In these extra sections 'somebody' used the keyword 'checklists' in stead of 'kb_checklists'.Yes, my name is Frank. I'll add a siganture to the post next time. Thanks again.Regards,Frank
