  1. OK - so are there any good ATC replacements available? I found FS2020 to be superior to FS2024.
  2. I probably should have come here for assistance, as I have been a member since the late 90s and have been in this hobby since the mid 80s. FS2024 runs quite well on my 6-yr old i5-9600/32GB RAM/RTX 3060ti. Where FS2024 falls short, even compared to FS2020 is in flight planning, ATC, EFB, and Avionics. I normally fly IFR routes of 30-120minutes in the Daher, and I find that ATC will rarely properly vector me to my destination, often arriving at destination at cruise altitude, and are never told to reduce altitude or get vectored back to the airport after passing it. My flight plans are auto generated by the flight planner (either EFB within the app, or on the online version on the FS2024 website) and I always check for approach and runway routings. I realize I may be doing something incorrectly and am hoping this group can tell me if it's me or the program itself.
  3. I remember seeing "My Library in MSFS2024, now I can't seem to locate it.
  4. FWIW, while I still visit these fora and keep abreast of major FS developments, I must admit that after 25 some odd years, my interest in all things flight sim has waned. I might be in the minority on these pages, I attribute this to a variety of factors, both internal and external. First, life. Raising and providing for a wife and two kids, along with increasing job responsibilities has certainly cut into my time. As has other computer alternatives, you tube, social networking, and the totality of content available on the internet for everything from how to tweak my TiVo, to what the best detailing compound is for my car. Over the years I would purchase a computer to 'run' FS, yet I never quite felt that I got there. I would call the Gamestop of the day to find out if the lastest version of FS was in (invariably, they would say yes, not knowing it was the previous version). Far from an accomplished pilot, single digit frame rates on final to LGA (or a dreaded CTD at that same point), would prove incredibly frustrating. And while I did occasionally properly complete FMS programming with some great step by step instructions, I guess it all got too complicated for me. So after taking a break, I am looking for something a bit simpler, which I guess I knew FS could always be.
  5. I have the stock Intel cooler now. I'd love to find the right cooler that won't require a bracket on the underside of the motherboard, as I really don't want to disassemble the entire rig.
  6. Running Vista 32, w/ DX10 and Aero interface. Whenever I start FSX,(now with Acceleration), I get a message that Windows is changing to Window Vista Basic Color Scheme, and the Aero features don't function. In FSX, the DX10 Preview is checked. Is this correct??
  7. Finished building a new PC, with virtually no issues. Running Vista Business, FSX SP1. Set up my first Delta flight from KBOS-KEWR, and when on final about 2NM out, I get an FSX Error saying that I have run out of available memory. 2GB RAM + 4GB Swap shouldn't kill the program, should it?
