  1. I must retract my statement that the plan could not be saved. This time I first went to the RTE page and clicked LSK5L "save" and although nothing seemed to happen I the saved to FS with ; and was able to recall the flight intact. On the stall on approach I was reducing to Vapp speed too early and probably too much flaps. Also th LNAV problem was not so bad. I paid more attention to entering the Gross Weight figure. Thanks for the tip on using the middle mouse button on the TCAS button.Perhaps not so bad after all.Ken Fairbanks
  2. Apart from the LNAV problem I have discovered others. The Tcas buttoncan not be "pushed" as before to dispay the range rings and the AI aircraft, only shows + or -.I get "stall" on some approaches at low speed with the exact same plan I have used many times with V1.Also with V1 after setting up a new flight I am able to save this in the normal way as a Flight in FS and later load this up and I am ready to go. All settings are saved CDU,legs, speeds and alts, V speeds etc. This can not be done with V2.The graphics are certainly improved but at the expense in performance. The new gauges have been re-written with some flaws and some eg the Engine gauges are reduced in size and hard to read.I find it unusable at the moment and hope a Patch will be forthcoming .So be warned!V1 is still perfect albeit without the "eye candy". 3. Hi Ryan. You're spot on. I now set the fuel much lower in the PMDG Menu options. I was following the Tutorial which did not mention this.ThanksKen Fairbanks
  4. Thanks Jay. I'll try it.RegardsKen Fairbanks
  5. Thanks for the prompt repies. You will have to pardon my ignorance but I have no idea how to "dump some of my fuel".Exactly how and where do I do this?RegardsKen Fairbanks
  6. When I am entering data in the FMS I get a message in the scratchpad saying "Max LW 207.7".I note that in the Weights page LW is already there at 246.0 in small type and cannot be changed. What am I supposed to do? I usually ignore it and clear the message. My autolands are just fine.ThanksKen Fairbanks
  7. At last I hear the sounds. Must have been drowned out by the background noise. I have now reduced the Sounds vol in Options to under Medium. The click sounds are very faint. Thanks to all for your replies. Much appreciated.Ken Fairbanks
  8. Sorry about the duplicate post. I was a bit hasty there.Yes I do see the messages TO CLAMP and TO Thrust and I have the ATS armed it is just that I don't hear the clicks at the appropriate times. I don't hear them at all.It is not a big deal as I take off just fine. Thanks for your prompt replyKen Fairbanks
  9. When I advance the throttles to say 75% I do not hear any click sounds. Is there a setting for this? I have already pressed Autoflight, Nav and Prof before starting.ThanksKen Fairbanks
  10. When I advance the throttles to say 75% I do not hear any click sounds. Is there a setting for this? I have already pressed Autoflight, Nav and Prof before starting.YhanksKen Fairbanks
  11. I have searched the manuals and the forum but can not find out how to make the marker sounds audible. Is there such a setting? and if so where do I access this page and what are the steps?Regards Ken Fairbanks
  12. Yes it can be done! I have just taken a test flight from Munich to Stuttgart and also landed at Stuttgart.1. Set yourself at the dep Rwy and load your FSNav plan.2. Set Hdg to runway heading3. Set Alt to 1st waypoint alt and speed to say 213.4. Click "1st bearing source" button (left hand side of a/p panel)5. Set Speed Knob to "Manual" - click on top right of speed button so it turns to "Manual"6. Set FD on.Take off & rotate at say 120- gear up at 10deg (flaps up later)1. Click on A/T, AP, Hdg hold button, Alt hold button2. Press Shift + F9 to engage FSNav.FSNav should now take over.Annunciator should show SPDt,AP,AT,HDG,ALT.If you want to see your route on the MFD you would need to load your flight plan from Flight Planner menu - (click on NO to go to) and in the FMC NAV >flt plan 6Rflt plan>2L Load>Activate. On approach to your Dest airport have you Radio set to correct ILS freq and turn off FSNav (Shift + F9). Click on APP button on A/P panel. You should now be able to land in the normal way.You will need to reduce speed manually, lower gear and flaps as speed permits.I hope you have the enlarged Autopilot panel - much easier to read the knobs - Available on the forum at http//forum.iemit.com -PIC EMB.Happy flying. Let me know how you get on.Ken Fairbanks
  13. I agree that FSNav does not work with non-standard autopilots but it DOES work with ERJV2.It won't control altitude or speeds but it will fly the route. As Scoob said make sure you have a tick in the box to "use default autopilot for altitude hold" in the Preferences section of the Configuration utility.(run from Start Menu).Have your plan loaded in FSNav. Start your flight in ERJ (Non FMS) and takeoff in the right direction. AfterClimb engage AP, Alt, Speed, Hdg (important) and press Shift+F9 to have FSNav take over.I agree however with Tingoose yhat you should persevere with ERJ's FMC.Happy flyingKen Fairbanks
  14. I have installed & installed again several times even in Safe Mode.No success.I am sending you an Email.RegardsKen
  15. Installed on XP Home system. Went OK. Trying to launch from shortcut or by double clicking the exe file does not work. No error message. Just nothing. Right clicking exe file and selecting "run as.." gives me a box saying "invalid picture". Have done all usual checks..virus scan etc. Any help appreciated.Ken
  16. Hi JayYou are spot-on. It was indeed the joystick.Have turned off overrides but the problem is when flying in PMDG 747-400 the joystick loses its calibration on the Y axis and I have to recalibrate. It does not do this in any other program.I am using a CH F-16 Combat Stick analog at the moment but will be getting the USB version shortly so all should be OK.Thanks for identifying the problem, it was driving me nutsRegardsKen
  17. When in cruise and sometimes on approach Autopilot disengages with a message and I have to click on cmd1 to engage it again. This works but later on it happens again. This has just started recently. It happens in Vnav mode and even when this mode is turned off.I have cheched my FMC and all is the same as I have always had. I did a "repair" from add/remove but it still persists. Very frustrating as I have to keep watching!Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ken Fairbanks
  18. After a few tests I have also ruled out DEP. I have AVG and did a complete scan also have tried starting proram with AVG off. No result.Do you think spyware could stop a program from starting? I used to Have Spybot on my old computer. Would it be worth trying this? Thanks for replying.Ken
  19. Have installed RCV4.2 (6 times now) and it won't start from the Start menu or by double-clicking the .exe file directly. It seems to try to start momentarily and stops..then nothing No error message.I am using XP Home SP2. As an experiment I installed it on my old computer running Win 98 and I had no problem starting the program.A previous poster #20026 - May 30th 2006, mark667 had the same problem exactly. It is almost as if SP2's Data Execution Prevention is operating but I have turned this off. No difference.Hoping someone has some ideas as I am very frustrated.Regards Ken
