  1. sorry I dont get where you mean.under setting>control you can set the sen. of axis etc, but there is no option within FSX to adjust force feedback, if you click calibrate that calibrates the axis again but no option for force feedback level. The only place I have to adjust force feedback level is with logitech wingman s/w under global device setting.please explainkrishan
  2. HiI have a logitech force 3D pro joystick. On default aircraft it vibrates like hell on takeoff at 100% setting. At this level PMDG 747 and Level-D 767 both shake a bit (not much) but this setting proves too much for pmdg 747 auto-pilot so I have to set the joystick setting down to 80% at this level AP works on both add-on aircraft else, it drifts this side and that side of course line and then starts doing a circle. The problem is at this setting the joystick hardly registers any force feedback on the add-on aircraft but still can be felt on default aircraft. Now I guess you could say what do you want more AP or shaking!!!! well ideally both, is there a way to control force feedback, or is this some sort of permissions issue?FSX SystemE8500 running at 4.1 GHz4GB Dominator ARM running at 1032MHzVista 64 (on partition)PMDG 747Level-D 767Traffic XFL GlobalFSUIPC4.40I have given full control to FXS folder installed in C:X86.....program files dir.krishan

  4. HelloI have been told by level-D forum that vista can interfree with operation of FSX and the best place to install FSX in not in the default C:\x86\Program files\..... but make a dir C:\FSX and install everything to do with FSX in there. Is this true? will you gain any fps by doing this?On a 2nd point; what options does one have to increase fps other than;1. any setting within the display setting of FSX2. Shutting down all unwanted programs except internet security (unless I want to unplug my LAN)3. Defreg disk4. 5. thanks jimmiWith the last point, it looks like the ground is water in a sense it seems to move a bit, the actual picture is not stuttering except near heathrow. aA better word might be quivering also, it seems to be loading detail all the time as you fly low over london.Add-ons I have apart from aircraft are, TRAFFIC X, FS GLOBAL for X. This issue was there beofre either were added anyway. If I reduce the textures it might go away I guess, it just doe not look steady as you fly (that is the ground, not the plane, and only micro stutters at worst)krishan
  6. HiI thought I would list issues I have come across since I started flying FSX now for a couple of weeks, both in XP 32 bit and Vista 64 bit. Now only on vista 64 bit.1. Is there a way of making any mission or when loading a created flight plan into FSX that the plane has the parking break on, just like FS2004?2. Is there a way of zooming in and out of spot or 3D Cockpit view without o=usinf +/- keys, takes a long time and in my view distorts the 3D axis?3. Is there a way of not having the menu option bar present itself in normal flight (like FS2004, only alt key makes it pop-up). I have to remove from full screen mode and then go back to full screen mode to get rid of menu bar?4. Under aircraft (display) the 2nd tick box something to do with aircraft casts its own reflections, if you take it off, the quality jumps down to meidum-high from ultra-high?5. Around a major airport like heathrow the picture seems to shake alot as the textures are loaded and even generally the ground textures seem to shake a bit compared to FS2004 but then there is far more detail to load, is there nothing that can be done usless I want to reduce the quality? If anyone has any answers to any of the above I would like to know.thankskrishan
  7. ARE OK, YOU ARE RIGHT, i WILL PLAY WITH THE NUMBERS AGAIN
  8. HiI have put fuel laod to max. 382, but when I try and program FMC to fly from lonodn to paris it says cannot attain crz alt!! (27000) I remember having this issue but solved it last time I reloaded it.krishan
  9. Actually, I don't get any error message, the PC just freezes, locked up cannot do anything except press the rest button, I think its a OOM issue but I could be wrong.
  10. I have it and its a carbon copy of the FS2004 version, don't forget the $40 off coupon
  11. HiI have been getting a lot of occasions when I have to reset PC, did some investigating as I only get this with FSX, found that I am running out of memory, presently running XP HOME and 2GB RAM, increase page file to 3069. I came down to 5M of RAM but generally down to 100M, which is why it causes fps to drop a lot and from spot view it does not stutter more like jump and jump.I have FSUIPC4.40, PMDG 747, LDS-767 and traffic X which is the main memory user after FSX itself. Also FSglobal is waiting in the wings. Now I have ordered another 2GB but can someone tell me should I put both in? I here not much use with XP or do I just put one stick? If so which slot should I put it.If I remove traffic and run 747 I have still got stuck once which could be to do with what else was running.krishan
  12. thanks, now I understand, its just a good tweak thingi
  13. HiThought I will post this to see if anyone has any comments, I have no problems playing but just don't like the output, I tried disabling internet security, gave the same output.Note the NAME COLLISION for Shader, in the FSX it is called ShaderHLSL and in your user name local dir Shader, I tried changing name within FSX to Shader as well, same, I tried having both as ShaderHLSL same, so why is there a name collision, what does it mean?Note, the end of this file is at the point the select options to fly opening screen iskrishan
  14. HelloI was using Filemon.exe to check what is going on for fun, I do not have any issues but want to point out something. Among a few other things inside FSX I also get a repeated message as follows;OPEN .....flight simulator X\PMDG\PMDG_SimConnect.ini NOT FOUNDI looked in the PMDG directory and there is no such file, so it fails to locate it, this is as you startup flight sim, I have not loaded PMDG, so is it looking for a file when there is no need to?KRISHAN
  15. HiI have been running FSX for a few days and find that in task manager (32-bit XP HOME) I have about 500MB free RAM and my PF is around 1.2GB used, this compares with FS2004 where I have about 1.2GB free RAM and about 300MB used in PF. Since its 32 bit is there still any point in buying 2 more GB of RAM? Will it make any difference to performance. Or am I much better of changing to vista 32 or 64 (please tell which on) and buying the RAM then. Trouble is I also want to use FS2004, not sure if that would be worse of with vista anything!krishanGigabyte EP45-DS4E8500 running at 4GHz2GB Corsair 1066 8500 running at 1006MHzXFX 260GTX
  16. OK, well I paid and got the FSUIPC4 licence, I am still not sure want I could use it for, could someone give me some tips. I see the options for negating wind gusts etc but why would you do that!, why would need to calibrate the joystick in FSUIPC when I can do that in windows anyway?krishan
  17. thanks for your comment but it does not help me. With FS2004 I found it worth it as I could not fly 737PIC without it, the product update later sorting it out anyway. Assuming I am comfortable with all the setting options within FSX, would you say then there is no need for FSUIPC4, but if you want to tweak the setting thanks to the great options provided by FSUIPC4 on weather, padels etc etc then buy it, is that correct? Also, there doesn't seem be any discount even if you have paid for the FS9 version, hmmkrishan
  18. HelloCould someone tell me if it is better to install and pay for FSUIPC4 for FSXif I intend to have add-on aircraft and traffic X plus FS Global?I have a paid one for FS2004, not sure about FSX. I do not intend to changeany settings other than what is in settings within FSX.krishan
  19. HelloI am just getting into FSX from FS2004. I just ordered pmdg 747, fs global and traffic X, do I have the best add-on aircraft, is there any other, I have Level-D 767 for FS2004 and it is my fav, not sure if it will be the same for FSX.Any other add-ons that help make it smooth or intesting is good. 20. HelloWhen I run filemon I get a lot of "NOT FOUND", some "NO SUCH PATH".The not found occurs for a lot of state.CFG's, on LVDS 767 it goes to the sound directory but there is no plane sound files there which I checked only voices, so why is it going there? I do not have any problems flying just filemon says a lot of things, but then it also says something NOT found for many aplliactions like word, etc.Any ideas?krishan
  21. thanks, I will go with that, I use perfect disk and will look at placing it all on outer disk
  22. HelloI am going to be installing FSX, I allready have fs2004.specs at present are:Gigabyte EP45-DS4E8500 over clocked to 4GHz, FSB 420Corsair 1066 2.1v 8500 running at 1008samsung 750GB HDDXFX 260GTXXP HOMEI have a 200GB spare Partition if required.1. Do I load it in the normal C drive with FS20042. Do I load it on the seperate partition3. Do I install vista 32/64-bit on the seperate partition and then install FSX on that.4. Or do I save up money and buy a Q9550 instead of vista and install it on the same c drive and run it on XP HOME.Or any other better option.thankskrishan
  23. Is there a solution to the insufficient parking issue?krishan
  24. Hello I have been doing some testing and the end results are; CPU between 4.1GHz and 3.7GHz makes no difference to stutter mainly at heathrow with traffic set at 69%. scrency ultra high, plane high, display ultra high at 1440 x 900. The FPS does go up and down depending on CPU clock rate. Zero traffic = zero stutters flying at dubai with 69% traffic causes next to no stutters, its really only happens at heathrow, which has maximum density. Is there any way to limit or reduce the stutter caused by Traffic 2005? I think not becuase FS9.CFG is single thread I think that krishan PS. Is my GPU card going to eat into memory addrssing? when I look at task manager with FS9.CFG running I still have about 1G un-used RAMGigabyte EP45-DS4 E8500 XFX 898MB 260GTX Samsung F1 spinpoint 750G 2G Corsair dominator 1066-8500 ram
