  1. After turning DWC off, Radar Contact ran as it should do. However, I'm not sure where to find the Global setting? Or does this refer to the setting in FSX?Rory
  2. Thanks for the input. I've disabled DWC and will also assign ASE and RC to different cores and see what happens.Rory
  3. Thankyou Guys for all the suggestions! I've turned off DWC and will see how it goes with RC later on this eve.Rory
  4. Guys,I've posted this problem on the RC forum too. Basically, when using ASE and Rada Contact, I suffer delays in communication. When I contact ATC, there is always a delay in a reply, and similarly when I reply to them there is a delay. When I use RC without ASE I dont have a problem. Any suggestions?Rory
  5. Thanks for the reply. My fsuipc is the latest version and registered. The active sky I've had about one month but will check for updates. Active sky also causes me problems with certain add on aircraft as well as RC. Oh, and FS version is FSX, OS is Win 7 64 bit.
  6. I dont use Vroute, but I do use Flightsim Commander. This program does allow the use of sids and stars where they are available. Maybe there arent any for your particular route? You could always use Navigraph charts and then, if you were to purchase Flightsim Commander, you can then update the database with the latest airac. Sorry I cant help further.Rory
  7. Hiya Chaps,I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and is there any sort of fix for it? When I use RC with Active Sky, there is always a delay in either contacting the controller, from when I key press no 1 or 3, a delay in the controller replieing to me and a delay when I reply to the controller! At its worst, I have the controller saying something like..." 7 3 6 3 I say again....." this when I havnt even heard him the first time! This only happens when using Active Sky, as when I dont use it, RC perfoms without fault.Any suggestions?Rory
  8. Hiya Ray,Many thanks for the reply and the link. I'll be flying it in real time as speeding it up spoils the realism, so I can expect a numb behind! I'll also program your suggested waypoints too.CheersRory
  9. Hi Fellas,I'm planning my first and probably only return virtual flight to New York from Manchester, England. Can anyone advise me of how RC will perfom and is there anything special I have to do? The obvious question in my mind is how to request oceanic clearance, or is it not possible in RCv4.3? Also, I use Flight Sim commander to generate the route and the shortest route appears to be a navaid route of just over 3K., will there be a problem with this kind of route?Any help appreciated.Rory
  10. Hi guys,Yes, Brent, I too tried it and it does work, so thanks Ray. I wouldnt have thought of it myself as I dont use the co pilot facility, preferring to do things myself. JD, I guess flying in the 30's was a bit like driving on the roads in the early 50's over here - not much traffic to crash into!Cheersrory
  11. Hiya Ray,Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try and let you know if it worked.rory
  12. Hiya JD and all,I'm using a prgram called around the world in 80 flights from First class simulations, and their aircraft in the program is a Lockheed Electra which doesnt have a transponder. Is there a way for me to use RC still? A long winded way around it is to start the flight with another aircraft and then obtain clearance and squawk, then switch to the Electra, but this isnt ideal. Also, is version 5 of RC out yet or is it still being worked on?Cheers,Rory
  13. Hya all,I just wanted to say a big thanks to JD for his support recently when I couldnt get RC to run after a reinstall - which turned out to be my own fault for leaving off the minus figure in front of the product ID ! So thankyou JD, I know I must have peed you off a bit when you found out it was only a minus figure causing the problem :-) Best regards, rory Hamer
  14. Many thanks for the replies Chaps. JD, I'm sorry and shouldve read the faq more closely. Pete, will do! Pity she couldnt sing like Monique too!Rory
  15. Hiya Guys,I have tried three times to instigate holding patterns at my favourite airport of EGAC (Belfast City) and also at Manchester EGCC. I have ensured that "holding" is ticked in the "general" section. However nothing happens. I just receive vectors to final as usual. I am flying regional flights in the Majestic Dash 8, cruising altitiude 200. Am I missing something? Is there anything else I need to do? I did read somewhere either on the forum on in the manual that if you choose holding then you will always be held.Cheers, rory
  16. Thanks for the reply. I didnt know that, knew they used to be British European, I think. Well that explains the callsign.rory
  17. Hiya all,Noticed last night that flybe aircraft are addressed as Jersey rather than flybe and also that Flybe doesnt appear in the list of Airlines. Is it possible to add this or is there a reason why they're called Jersey? They are a major european carrier after all!Regards,Rory
  18. >Hi Rory,>>Up in th'ills eh? :-wave I'm in Cheadle Hulme.>>If you want to visit just give me a shout. Hope you're>enjoying RC and not incurring the wrath of Bill Stevens ;-)>>Cheers,Hiya Ray, I've already had my licence suspended - twice! and thats just this week :+ But its entertaining all the same.rory
  19. >Ah, obviously coming from Barcelona prevented you from>watching Auntie's "Secret Army" - you know, it was the serious>version of "'Allo, 'Allo". :D Ludwig Kessler was one of the>main characters - the serious Herr Flick, you might say.>P.Ha ha, well spotted Sir! I'm about as old as Kessler was back then. I'm in a WW2 re enactment group around these parts and his is the uniform I wear :-) Happy flying!rory
  20. Hiya Ray and thanks for the reply. I'll look for it when I fire up my sim pc again! Oh, and I'm from Stalybridge! A few miles further out than you.Cheers, rory
  21. Hiya JD,I'm not sure, but I think the problem has cleared up. I did the flight again tonite and think I made a .log (however I cant seem to find it? When I click on debug, I can see the text doc relating to it but thats all!) But, this time, control initially assigned me to rwy 04 again but the later they changed it to rwy 22, which was the correct rwy! I think its now a case of seeing how things pan out. I do confess to feeling a bit dim about having difficulty in saving or locating the log though! Where does it normally save it to?Regards,Rory
  22. Hiya JD,Thanks for the reply. I will do as you ask, and I think I can follow most of the instructions but I'm not sure how to "zip" it up then send?rory
  23. Hi Sir, and thanks for the reply. I've again just flown into EGAC and RC ATC assigned me an ILS app to rwy 04, in good weather. When on final I can hear the controller assigning other aircraft to rwy 22. I'm landing into the path of other aircraft taking off. Does RC control the active runway or is it FSX that does this? On checking the atis, it confirmed the active was 04 and yet this clearly wasnt the case. I'm confused. This is just a straightforward flight, planned thru the FSX flight planner as I dont have another planner. Should I be disabling anything? I have already done as the FAQ says about hearing both the default and RC ATC voices (yet I keep hearing both!) I am using traffic 2005 also.Rory
  24. Hi all,I've only had Radar Contact for a couple of days and so this problem may well be down to me! Please can someone tell me why on a flight from Manchester egcc to Belfast City egac firstly on departure I am assigned runway 6R for takeoff when the active is 6L and similarly, on approach to Belfast I am assigned runway 04 to land on when the active is runway 22? This is a flight I do at lease twice a week and so know from experience and also from listening to atis which is the active runway at both airports. When landing at Belfast City for example I also know that in fair weather conditions the default atc will always assign an ils app to runway 22 and (for some strange reason!) in less than good weather it assigns a visual to runway 04! I have made this flight using RC twice now and in good weather and both times been assigned runway 04 even when atis confirms the active for landing and departing is runway 22.Any ideas anyone?rory
