  1. 1. Point taken, the problem is, with any kind of 'real weather' condition, the plane is frustrating to fly. Disabling it in solo flight is a pity but not catastrophic either. Now in multi (IVAO) the weather is downloaded all along the flight, and unless you quit both IVAP (their program) and FSX to disable weather, you cant do anything while you're flying. Now I understand this is a built in FSX flaw, but the result is there and as you point our it does not happen with other planes. Its nice to have a very realistic autopilot but if the result is as such, I'm dubitative as to its use. Maybe the answer would be to include full FSUIPC licence in your products, just saying.2. Ok, yes you can load passengers on the load sheet, and fuel via FS default menus but then again would developping a loading tool cost so much and justify the JS41 to be sold as much as the 744/MD-11? If yes then, I would be ready to pay for it. Now, tbh this isnt that much of a bother. I'm much more annoyed to have to cut down engines and set up everything C&D myself every time I start a flight. If there was a panel manager it would make things alot easier. If i try to start from the C&D flight provided in the tutorial and change location and/or livery my FMS will refuse to load.I know you can't please everybody and have to make commercial choices, but then I'm part of the ppl who are ready to wait or pay a little more not to have to cope with that sort of things. I'm not griping, I will continue to buy your produts for their incredible quality compared to many other editors that I've tried wich are downright theft, but then I think there still are flaws.Regards,Peter
  2. Im not implying that. As far as I can tell, PMDG makes the best payware around. Just saying that I'd rather wait longer and not suffer from any malfunction. I own the 747X and the JS41, so I know what you guys are capable of, hence why this 737 will be a blessing. BUT I find there are a couple of flaws. The strange FSUIPC wind problem on the 744, wich BTW makes it a nightmare to fly on IVAO, and, regarding the JS41, the absence of a plane loading tool along with a panel state one. If the 737NGX is put on sale without any of what I consider issues like those, I'd be even more happy. And thx for the info on the beta team PMDG!Regards,Peter
  3. Thats alot of eye candy for sure. As usual, PMDG makes the best cockpits ever, and prolly planes as well. But tbh, I think I'm not alone to be more focused on the realism of instruments, systems and flight model. Having said that, and even though I am expecting that plane like a kid at xmas, I'd rather wait for a few extra months until you guys have tested it through and through so that it reaches the shelves prefectly flyable with every feature working properly.Who's beta testing PMDG products BTW?Regards,Peter
  4. A320/330/340 with PMDG quality would be just great !I would also love to see old Antonovs planes such as AN-12.Got 744 and JS41 already, both fine products :)All on FSX ofc.
  5. HiConfirmed, exactly he same problem here. Although, once you setup a new flight from the tutorial one and save it, it seems to work as well. You can then reload that flight and FMS will work. Except if you change livery, then it reloads the plane in a different panel state and FMS refuses to work again. I guess we could use a panel state manager on that plane too :( Regards,Peter
  6. Hi,I finally attempted yet another re-install. And now it works again, the way it used to. I have no explanation. Lets just hope it doesnt happen again. Also, today I bought the Bae 4100, talk about change! :( Thanks for looking into it everyone, and good luck to you Carl.Regards,Peter
  7. Paul,Yes I get that alert in the third screenie I posted. QNH is 29.92.No weather add-ons at all, in fact, atm, its just FSX SP2 with the PMDG 744 v2.1.Regards,Peter
  8. Will do :( Result of my last night tests :Before take off I rearmed FD, A/T, LNAV, VNAV, set IAS, HDG and ALT then pressed the ALT knob. For testing purposes I set it at 10 000ft.Plane took off, reached 10k ft AND started cruising at that alt. 'Victory' I thought. How foolish of me.I decided to test my luck out. I set the ALT to 20 000ft and pressed the knob again. Plane instantly entered VNAV SPD and started gaining altitude. But then one again it proved incapable of stopping at said alt. It kept climbing way past it. At about 27 000ft I decided to set alt to 30 000 and press the knob again. Then something real strange happened. It climbed way past 30 000 'ofc' then it started stabilizing again at 33 000 (which really baffled me since this alt is nowhere to be found either in MCP or FMC. At the time we were on cruise waypoints way out of the SID). Then it started to descend (I thought it DID overshoot the alt and started correcting it, about time after 3 000 ft).... but then it only descended to 31 000 ft ... and then again it started climbing to 33 k. I am so lost tbh. I really dont see where that problem comes from. I thought I was doing everything by the book, obviously theres a mistake somewhere. Is there a flght plan out there I could test out? Maybe I dont know how to program em properly and got lucky until now? Anyway flight plan screenshots incoming that might be where the problem resides, then again this issue happpend with different classic flight plans. Oh and Paul, I am Euro but I understand the Imperial system. :)Regards,Peter
  9. I figured I'd better post all my FMC config :So, to answer your question my cost index is 200. :)Hmm for this flight I had 2/3 full, but the problem exists when i use 1/3 as well I'm sure.Regards,Peter
  10. Hi,I re-installed FSX recently and wondered what the current best (free) AI traffic tools out there are. I was using World of AI before. It works ok, although I saw a few flaws and installing all the packages takes a bit too much time for my liking.I was curious to know what everyone is using and why. :( Regards,Peter
  11. Well I only press that knob to change alt. Usually when I define it from the ground its at 0 and so no I dont press it. But I will try pressing it after that. Thanks. Aha, and how do I fix that? I set it to 1/3 full via the PMDG fuel manager. Thats my usual configuration as I dont usually fly more than 2-3 hours in a row, so I should have had that before. hmmm weird. :( Anyway, thanks for the answers. :( Regards,Peter
  12. Ok here are the different states for A/T, ROLL and PITCH:At rotating point : HOLD | LNAV (green) | TO/GA (green) VNAV (white)If I understood the manual correctly, thats perfectly normal.During climb to cruise alt I get the following states, which also seems normal to me. The plane is adjusting pitch roll and thrust to keep to the course at the programmed speed it seems :THR REF | LNAV | VNAV SPD (all green)Right before I reach T/C the PFD still shows the same states. Upon reaching the cruise alt, the different states change to what I believe they should be :Yet it keeps climbing... (I think all indicators show it should be cruising by now, including the CRZ sign in the 2nd EICAS.)And climbing...Regards,Peter
  13. Ok, thanks for the help Paul I'm gonna look into that. BTW, yes, I am limiting the CRZ ALT of the FMC by using the MCP. Thats how I've always done since I dont master it yet and cant understand why it keeps setting plans much higher than what I ask as a cruise alt. Maybe, cause of the airways imposed alts? I have no clue but so far it never prevented me from flying at the lvl I wanted. As for the screenies Jose. I am working on it ! :(Also, I faced the same issue with both 400 and 400F planes, Im a bit confused as I have been flying those for quite some time without problem so far.Anyway, I will let you know the results of my test. :)
  14. Hi,Ive been using the 744 for quite a while now and for the past days, I have been confronted to something I dont understand. After takeoff, when I activate the AP, the plane usually follows the plotted course without any issue until I land. Now I have re-installed my FSX on a dedicated drive and thus re-installeld the PMDG 747-400. Everything works smoothly except for that. Before take off, I arm FD, A/T, set V2 speed in the the IAS, set the rwy heading and the alt in the MCP. I set the thrust to 70%, hit the TO/GA button and takeoff, then I usually activate the AP at around 1000-1500ft and LNAV/VNAV go green on the PFD. But those days when I do so, the plane seems to start following the course right until it reaches the planned cruise altitude for the flight, instead of gently reducing thrust and stabilizing the plane at the altitude given in the MCP, the plane keeps going. And going, it just wont stop climbing. The only solution I found to the issue, is to disengage AP, rearm VNAV and start AP again, then it finally follows the pollted course at a normal altitude. I have checked all my wayppoints carefully and they all seem to be normal. As usual.I use FSC 8 to design my plans but i usually enter them manually into the FMC. I have done that for quite some time without any problem until now. Am I missing something? I have had that on three different flight plans so far. BTW, the descent and landing go without any problem its just that the plane doesnt take its planned ALT when it should on climbing. Can someone help me plz? Im sure Im doing somethign wrong cause it worked like a charm before. :( I have re read the manual and cant figure out where I mess up.PS : I re-installed the plane twice without any result.Regards,Peter
