Hi Joe, I have done what you have advised, but the black screen is there regardless. In the meantime, I have re-installed the FSX. Downloaded the SP1 and SP2 and installed without any problems. Now, if I boot up the FSX and select the Ultra Light a/c and select an airfield (KSEA) the sim will work. After this I reselect an aircraft of my choice and it will be ok. so, it is working in a fashion. It will not work in the normal manner. Here are my specs for your perusal bellow. Gentlemen, I have just purchased the FSX gold software. I have installed it a numerous times on C:\FSX. The installation went ok. After entering the Product key I attempted to start the sim. The first page with the music came on as it supposed to, but when I selected Free flight to try it, selected my aircraft, in this case B738,( or any other) airfield KSEA (or any other ). Pressed OK. The sim started to download all the sceneries etc, but very slowly. When finally it has reached 100% either the screen went black or just the table top was visible as if I had minimised the simulator. OK, I thought I had to install the Accelerator disk, that I have and the symptoms were exactly the same. Someone in VPA advised me to delete the fsx.cfg file, by pressing the Windows+R to run %appdata%. Saying that on start up, FSX will create a new cfg file, which did occur, but the simulator is still inoperative. Could someone help me please. I still run my trusty FS9, but I thought I will fly the FSX just for a change. Thanks and regards, Miklos Cserny

I have downloaded from AVSIM the following MD11 textures (FS2004) UPS, Lufthansa Cargo and BAW. I have followed the instructions to the letter, but when starting up the FS, selecting MD11F GE or PW all I could get was the dafault PMDG livery. After this I tried various methods of installation like copy textures across to the MD11F files, unzip etc., but the results were always the same. I checked and double checked whether the aircraft cfg. files were correctly pasted as well. Any advice would be welcome.Best regards,Nick

G'day All,I am back again. I have re-installed a clean FS9 (no add-ons) I have also installed into the FS9!!!! the FS9.1 update. After this, I tried to install the PMDG MD11 aircraft, but will not install. Actually, it says I only have an FS9 installation, have to install FS9.1 or higher. When I try to install the FS9.1 update the message I have, I don't need to as I already have one installed.I am also providing two screen shots to make myself clearer.Thanks and regards.

I have downloaded the Registry Repair Tool, tried to install the Beasty, but now it was asking for the FS9.1 update. Unfortunatelly, due to all the extra add-ons like a/c, airports IVAO and VATSIM files, I have to de-install and re-install my FS9 and hopefully I shall be operational in a few hours time.:(

I have been using the planepath.com to update FMC data for all my aircraft, but yesterday I have been trying to update the PSS Airbus data to no avail. The data appearing in the FMC is always the same AIRAC 0212, even though for all the other aircraft I have the 1003. When I looked at the cycle info for subject aircraft it did say 1003, but in the FMC it was 0212. Consequently, I am unable to program the FMC even for a short hop like LHBP-EGKK. :( Awaiting for someone's logical explanation.Best regards,Miklos
