  1. Hi there Kendell,Thank you for your time.I have tried your suggestion to save my flight then i exit the game [not go back to the start menu] but i still have the same problems when i restart my flight. Thanks anyway.kind regardsFletch.
  2. Hi again Highmike,I hope i am not bothering you too much but i tried to see what you suggested to do [Regarding the fsx.cfg ] but i can't seem to find that part called "Situation" in the Userinterface section, So i don't know what to do next.By the way i have also noticed there is a fsx.CFG text Document file also with the same details. Am i suposted to change that also???I have cut and pasted a bit of that section that i think you are talking about in C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX.[from the fsx.cfg]It is as follows.[uSERINTERFACE]ShowAllACPaintSchemes=1SelectAircraftManufacturer=AllSelectAircraftPublisher=AllSelectAircraftType=AllPageID=6OpenATCOnCreate=0SHOW_MISSION_CAPTIONS=0Map_Orientation=2[ATC]Is that [above] the right section?I also gave that renaming thing a go [My_Original_fsx.cfg] and then re-started FSX and then added in my new settings, then parked a default plane at a parking bay, set up all the settings then saved the file and re-started the FSX, only to have the same problem, It's as if it does not reconize any saved games or settings.?????Thank you for your time Highmike.kind regards Fletch.
  3. Thanks heaps Highmike,I will give that a go and see how i go.thanks again for your time and help.Fletch.
  4. Thanks you Highmike,Unfortunally i am not that good with computers so i don't fully understand what you mean.I used to be able to just tick that box "Make This The Default Flight" and all the setting would just stay for the next game. but now since i reloaded it again i have seemed to lost that option??????thanks again for your time, and help.kind regardsFletch.
  5. Sorry,i forgot to mention what system i have.I run Windows XP.i have also FSX Acceleration pack too thanks for your help.
  6. Hi there,I recently had to re-install FSX and all my Add-ons. Now i can't seem to get FSX to save my last flight or at the very least my settings. I even tick the box "Make This The Default Flight" to save and start up that saved settings and /or flight at the next start up. But it still starts with the default start up page and all the default start up settings. At the moment i have to re-set all my settings everytime i start up FSX.Is there something that i have done wrong or something i can do to fix it?Your help and time would be much appreciated.Thank you very much.kind regardsFletch.
  7. It's all done now, thank you very much for your time.fletch.
  8. Hi thwere all, i recently had to re-install my PMDG 747-400 and i also downloaded the qantas liveries for that model, however i can not seem to down load them.If i remember rightly there used to be a type of loader to use, like the level-D uses a repaint manager.i have not got one for the PMDG 747-400, would someone please help me find/download a paint manager so i can load up the new leveries plese.Thank you so much for your time.kind regardsFletch.
  9. Hi there Glen,Thank you so very much, you have given me some real useful tips.No i have not used the Fuel planning calculations that is in Vrouts and i have the full version. Did not even know there was one.I use the Flight planner and down load it directly to my flightplan/FSM.also did not know about the diversion options either, so thanks for that also. Might need to go over the Vroute sight a bit slower to see what else might be there.I am now [since i first posted this,] climing slower and using the "OPT" cruise hight in the FMS to more effect.Again thank you for your time and help.Kind regardsFletch.
  10. Thank you all guys for your help,I am taking it all on bourd.Kind Regardsfletch
  11. Thanks Steve, all useful info and helpful to my original question.I now not need to worry about my FMS being out/wronge. I am also learning that the PMDG 747-400 is oh so close to the real deal.thank you all for your time and helpful feed back.Kind regardsFletch.
  12. thanks guys,As you guys would of guessed i am no pilot and i am just new at the simmers world too, so i am learning new things everyday.thank you.kind regardsFletch.
  13. OK then, i guess the PMDG is a lot more realistic than i thought.thank you for the insight and i stand corrected. If that is what it is like in real life it just goes to show how "standard" the default 747-400's are in the FSX and how great the PMDG 747-400 realy is.thanksRyan.
  14. Hi there guys, this might sound a little petty but i have noticed that the nose light on the 747-400 does not turn with the nose wheel. This is a small thing but i was wondering if there was a fix for this. As all my other FSX defalt 747-400's [and all other planes] do have a turning nose light. The PMDG 747-400 is such a pleasure to fly and a lovely looking aircraft, it is a shame about the front nose light.kind regardsFletch.
  15. Thanks Fidel,I will also give that a go too.thank you.Kind RegardsFletch.
  16. Hi there Andre',Thanks for getting back to me with your suggestions and help.1) I am using vnav and i set my cost index to 50. is that enouph?2) Would you mind telling me how i find out the outside temp please, is it the temp in the lower right corner of the PRIMARY EICAS DISPLAY?3) As far as fuel planing goes, the flights that i have been doing are at least 13 hours long so therefore are almost a full tank. i do try to stick to the "opt" cruise level going by my FMS, however it seems to happen in the climb part of the flight, not the cruise. From what you have told me, i am sort of on the right track by NOT just setting the FMS and then just letting the FMS take me to that ALT, instead i should slowly progress my climb. Does this sound right?Thank you once again for your time and help,Kind RegardsFletch.
  17. hi there guys,i have the PMDG 747-400 and use rex weather on my FSX, [Windows XP]when i am climing to my set FMS's cruise ALT of 330,000+ft the plane tends to loose speed and pracually stalls and smoke comes out of all four engines [as the engines are reving pretty high.]why does this happen?the only way i know how to prevent this from happening is to step up my clime, from about 20,000ft and gradually getting to 330,000+ft about 5000ft at a time once it has settled into a cruise. which is truely a pain.thank you for your time.kind regardsFletch.
  18. Hi there all,I was wondering if it is normal for the FMS to show cruise speed at .8.2/.8.3mac at 350,000ft Alt as it's top speed.butWhen i look at the speed ribbon on the flight panel in the primary flight display it shows it is no way near it's max speed. to get to 320 at 350,000ft i need to put in a woppin .9.0mac in the FMS. is this right?what i am trying to say is that if i wanted to travel at 320 indicated in the PFD at 350,000ft i need to enter .9.00mac in the FMS. i am not sure if this is standard procedure or not.thank you for your time.fletch.
  19. thank you very much, will try both suggestions.thank you
  20. Hi there all,I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?I sometimes get/ have the little hidden TOGA screw available and can use it BUT sometimes it is not, and can not be used.I have the PMDG 747-400.using the FS2Crew.thank you for your time.fletch.
