Hi all,
I would like to suggest creating a sub-folder under the MD-11 with "Lessons"
In this section videos can be attached to be used as a learning base as there are a lot of MD-11 users who could share their knowledge with the whole PMDG community.
It would be very nice to see, and not just read in the forums, how proper take off's and landings are made, crosswind mastered or failures overcome. These videos can be together with comments or mentioning where in the manuals their actions are based on.
For example, I would like to see how flaps are properly extended during approach / landing phase.
Thanks,
Christos

Hi all,
I am looking for a freeware mesh covering Norway (and whole Scandinavia) above 60 degr. north.
I used one but it created a problem at 60 degr when joining the Europe mesh.
Any suggestion?
Thanks,

The issue I had using REX is that it was stuttering heavily with dense cloud coverage at descent phase in big add-on airports(say approaching EHAM). Thus, I uninstalled it although graphics were great.
Since then I overclocked my i5 2500k to 4,5 ghz and locked frames to 30. All runs smoothly.
I don't want to experience again these stutterings and I am reluctand to re-install REX.
Any comment on this?
Is AS equally frame demanding or causing stutterings?

Hi all,
I am looking for real flightplans of (preferably) major European operators to use for PMDG aircraft.
Who can assist me?

Hi all,
My screen, on chase view, shows kind of horizontal line going down.
It starts from about the middle of the screen and goes down, like a small thin wave, destorting the image at that point.
How could I overcome this?
I have an i5 2500k cpu overclocked to 4,5 ghz.
Graphics card: gtx 560 Ti.
Monitor refreshing rate: 60 hz
Any hint?

Ok, I will later install HWMonitor to double check the Vcore voltage.
Yes, it is a Gigabyte motherboard Z68X-UD3P-B3.
By the way with Core Temp VID reading was 1.4011 V during the stress test. (I don't know if this is something different.)

I have made a stress test with Prime95 for 3 hours now. (Later I will do an 8 hour test).
The readings so far:
All self test until 16k passed succesfully.
CPU Core Voltage: stable at 1.056 V
Core Speed: 4,5 ghz
Core temperatures highs (all at 100% load): #0 = 67, 1 = 70, 2 = 74, 3 = 68.
How does it look like as regards the performance and stability of my system?

I am already monitoring the Vcore throught the CPU-Z and I never noticed it exceeding 1.056 V.
Usually it is at 1.044.

About setting the Vcore some help needed please.
My bios states under "Mother Board Voltage Control" / CPU Vcore:
Normal = 1.380
Current = [Auto]
Raising my CPU Vcore means replacing "Auto" with, for example, 1.380 V?
Does this mean that Voltage will be permanently steady and not exceed 1.380V?

I have overclocked my i5 2500k finally to 4,5 ghz.
I have not touche the Vcore voltage but everything runs fine.
Should I increase the voltage anyway?
Thanks,
Christos

Hi all,
I have the GTX 560 Ti graphics card.
What driver would you suggest for it (290.xx or higher)?
I have now the 285.63 which works good for me but I want to use the Frame Rate Limiter which is included in these drivers?
Thanks,
Christos

Thanks for your replies but:I have fsx on a dedicated physical drive (F). All windows programms are on the other physical drive C.The question again is which other folders/files (except the fsx folder in drive F) need to be copied from drive C.For example the files in the "users" folder etc. Thanks,Christos

Hi all,I want to make a proper back up of my fsx (too much effort and time invested in there...)The question is which files / folders to include except of course the fsx main folder and fsx.cfg file? How should a re-installing of the complete fsx setup be made without having to re-install all add ons one by one again? Thanks,Christos

For an initial overclocking to max 4,2 ghz do I need a good cooler?I don't know what cooler I have installed but it is the standard one that goes with the computer. Also can anybody assist me in finding a threat about overclocking my i5 2500k in connection with my motherboard (Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P-B3)?Thanks,Christos

Hi all,Roughly estimated, how much more frames will an overclocking of my i5 2500k give to 4,2 ghz?Is a slight overclocking (to max 4,2 -4,3 ghz) worth the effort?My computer:M/B: Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P-B3.RAM: DDR3 Corsair 8GB.G/C: MSI gtx 560Ti - 2GB.O/S: Win7 Home PremiumThanks,Christos

Hi all,I would like to ask if installing Flight in the same computer (or hard disc) together with FSX will create any problems / incompatibilities to my FSX files. Thanks,Christos

Hi all,Has PMDG given any indication about where the new 744 fits in into their general release shedule? Thanks,Christos

Hi all,I know PMDG's policy about release dates but do we have any indication/clue when this new 744 fits in into their general release programme? After the 777 or the dash 8?Thanks,Christos

Hi all,My question is about the responce of the plane when giving rudder input to de-crab.The airplane seems not to respond to the rudder input when trying to align with the runway centerline on de-crab.However, once the main gear touches down rudder input has an immediate effect on swinging the plane's tail. But why not before touch down?Do others have the same experience? Thanks,Christos
2D cockpit display problem
in PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)
Posted
Hi all,
When switching to the 2D cockpit the MCP does not "stretch" completely from left to right of the screen.
There is a small gap left on the left side.
The other part of the cockpit (except the MCP) displays correctly.
Thanks,
Christos
