lodestar's post in 737NG Install vs FSX sp2 or FSX w/acceleration pack was marked as the answer
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Minimum
OS: Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 (latest service packs), Flight Simulator X with SP2 or Acceleration installed.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD equivalent
RAM: 2GB if only running the NGX, 4GB if running other addons (scenery, traffic etc)
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 512MB of video memory (examples: Nvidia 8800GT, AMD/ATI Radeon 4870)
Best Performance
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 or i7 (Sandy Bridge core) or better
RAM: 4GB+
Video Card: Nvidia GTX560 Ti, 570 or 580 with 1GB+ of video memory or better
Monitor: Widescreen 1920x1080+
PMDG *highly* recommends the use of 64-bit versions of Windows due to memory limitations in FSX. Note sp2 "or" acceleration. So yes, it is correct -
lodestar's post in Confused about Virtual Memory Size Recommendations - OOM Issues - What is the best size for the paging size? was marked as the answer
RAM and Virtual memory are not the same thing. 8GB of RAM is recommended, and default paging file - leave it to system managed. This if you have Windows 7 / 64bit which is also highly recommended and absolutelly the best for FSX.
To avoid OOM errors:
- set Texture_Max_Load in fsx.CFG to maximum 2048, never above
- REX clouds 1024, max 2048, DXT optimized
- Microsoft patch for heap limitation applied: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947246
- i use SceneryConfigEditor every time before i start FSX, to enable only scenery i need for my next flight http://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/files/V1.0/
Important is to disable all payware, especially photoscenery. I enable only 1-2 continents(2 for long haul)and 2-3 airports.
- Virtal memory management should be system managed on windows 7 / 64bit(don't change default paging file like some people suggest)

lodestar's post in J41 lights was marked as the answer
If you are useing REX, restore original FSX textures(original aircraft lights will be restored too) and after that in REX "options" under "light textures" ensure that "aircraft strobe" and "landing light" are not selected. Then, you can apply again REX textures.
Re-install or repair JS41 will put lights back to, but they will be overwritten next time you apply REX textures

lodestar's post in Error Message Exasperation was marked as the answer
You can solve this in two ways:
1.
- Start your sim and go to scenery library
- find and exclude this airport(EKRN) from scenery library
- uninstall airport
- run fs9 once to update scenery library, just to be sure
- close fs9 and reinstall EKRN
I don't know what EKRN you have, but be sure that you folow all instruction about instalation
2. This metod will help you to get rid of that error message, but check that EKRN works well after that - if not, apply metod 1
- go to that folder or area from error message, and just create a new folder with name that is missing
