  1. I don't know, i have vector and i always run this tool after new airport is added. Never had elevation issues after discovering this nice tool
  2. In Vector configuration tool / Airport Elevation Corections, just run Auto-configuration once
  3. you are right on this. My SSD died and i'm using HDD again until i buy another SSD. I have microstuters and slow loading scenery. I'm 100% sure it wasn't so on SSD
  4. You can try this fix, not sure that will solve mountain flickering, but i didn't noticed any cloud flickering for a long time: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?1308-Fix-for-flashing-clouds

Thanks Richard, I tried to figure out if DX10 is realy necessary. If that's right, i probably don't need to go for DX10, my DX9 FSX looks and performs just great, without CTD's or OOM's. I actually tried DX10 once - after enabling cockpit shadows VAS was slightly higher, and FPS was worse. But now i'm considering P3D for the first time

Great shots! You said in DX9 VAS and fps were low. Just out of curiosity, how is the VAS usage/fps with your settings using PMDG 777(or 737)in similar situations? Thanks

I remember that Ryan's post, but i think he said that applies to VC textures, not sure about exterior... But yes, both VC and exterior model are two MDL files, so that's probably right
  8. Another suggestion: Digital Aviation Piper Cheyenne Very nice plane, systems are there, automation too, lower engines then B60, and great FDE. It's a old product, graphics are not so polished as RealAir, but still one of the best
  9. if you uninstalled ORBX Vector and don't want it anymore, just remove it from scenery library, it can be done with SceneryConfigEditor too. If you didn't, reinstall Vector, that should fix it. It's a simple notification, you have area 166 in scenery.cfg, but for some reason folder is not there anymore. You can also just create empty folder with that name in that location and message will disapear
  10. Agree. I'm switching to X-plane after many years of FSX... I've been waiting for IXEG Great Shots!
  11. My experience with SAPI voices and VoxAtc: VoxPop Voices offered for free on voxatc website are using a lot of memory and cpu on my system, scenery laoding is suffering(visible)becouse of that. I don't know about available freeware voices, i have Cepstral voices for some years, and they are realy great, and not affecting FSX performance. Only negative things i can say about Cepstral voices is - they are not for free
  12. Absolutely. Nothing to do with VAS, run process explorer to see how much VAS FSX is using, you don't need to care about other processes. I run a lot of things with FSX, surfing, watching movies on long haul flights etc. You need to worry about VAS only when FSX is approaching 4GB. But that squares are definitely not becouse of VAS
  13. It's probably about graphics card or FSX tweaks. Tell us about yor system and fsx tweaks you have(or not). That usually hapens if FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION is set to low for example
  14. from what i read so far, Leonardo Maddog would be the best choice for you, but i'm not sure if it works with P3D. It is a complex, it has old stile gauges and one of the best systems(even circuit brakers are functional) and flight dynamics ever. Except graphics, which are not realy bad, but just not there for today standards - it's a top addon, on par with PMDG and Majestic. It has working shared cockpit feature too, and there is a FS2CREW for it. I would not bother with QW and CS, since you want something complex with good FMC
  15. I'm using FSX mostly, but still have FS9 installed, try this(i'm not sure if works with ATI) http://www.uk2000scenery.org/forum/index.php?topic=7309.0 Look at Reply #3 I know there was a nice guide for fs9 but link is dead now. I still have it somewhere on my external HD, i'll try to find it tomorow
  16. lodestar replied to jcpg's topic in Hangar Chat
    +1 for Maddog
  17. yes, just set it to 0. This will increase your FPS also, and default vehicles are not realy nice anyway
  18. at all airports? it happens to me but only at fsdreamteam airports, but i'm not sure what TCAS is detecting there, maybe ground vehicles... But not default vehicles, i have that option disabled
  19. here is a solution for MT6, in other avsim thread: http://www.avsim.com/topic/466769-my-traffic-6-with-voxatc-major-problems/ You need to coppy MT6 Aicraft folder to SimObjects folder, and edit fsx.cfg to adjust new MT6 location. Then run indexer again. I hope this helps
  20. i'm not sure about what you want from MT6 and VoxAtc... VoxAtc works fine with all AI traffic addons, you need to run VoxAtc utilities(indexer etc) for VoxAtc to detect installed sceneries and AI. Then set VoxAtc traffic to 40-50%(or any desired positive value), and AI Traffic to 0. VoxAtc will then use / control AI Models. They will not folow AI flightplans, but you'll see enough traffic, and VoxAtc will comunicate with them. UT2 bridge is needed for UT2 becouse this AI addon is different, it uses simconnect to inject AI Traffic to FSX / P3D. After running UT2 bridge, UT2 should be disabled in exe.xml for use with VoxAtc. With your settings, VoxAtc is not aware of AI traffic. I liked VoxAtc and used it for a while, the only thing i don't like about - with VoxAtc active, the scenery seems to load slower. I'm not sure why, but i suspect SAPI voices - they probably use a lot of CPU. Didn't tried to find out what exactly happens, i prefer vatsim now
  21. I'm curious about his opinion, and especially "fine tuning" And I totally forgot about trim fine tuning in FSUIPC... Thanks for that, i think i'm going to try it again. I used this plane a lot in FS9 with FS2Crew and TSS HD sounds, i'm not sure why i didn't liked it so much in FSX, but i'll try it again now. Just remembered something important about this plane - to avoid app hanging and CTD's, look for Level D entries in DLL.XML. FSUIPC should be before Level D, and FSCopilot(if you use it)after Level D entry. Just rearrange them manually. I have FSUIPC allways on top, and FSCopilot at the bottom of DLL.XML, it seems to be important for stability.
  22. Just update your FSX Navdata every month http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html And use real world charts after that, or navigraph, Vatsim charts or so.
  23. No, trim is working just fine, but i find this not so realistic for my taste, like on Maddog and PMDG planes. I may be wrong about that. Flight model is good
  24. If you are looking for serious simulation, i would not recommended Captain Sim, i don't think there can be something realistic and accurate realated to CS. I own Level D 767, not using it so much this days, but it's a good old addon. You can download alternative VC cockpit from Level D forums, and add TSS engine sounds. There is also FS2Crew available for Level D(never considered for CS), so you can deduce what to expect from this addon. Here is the link to some youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0--OFzbupLw I'm not sure how realistic are engine parameters, but systems are realy good for addon that is about 10 years old. The only negative thing i can say about is that level d 767 is missing the real need for trim - just my opinion, on Maddog and PMDG planes that is done well. In any case, Captain Sim is eye kandy only, don't expect systems and flight modeling. I don't own it, and i'm not buying anything from them
