July 24, 20169 yr The Lighting is nothing short of Stunning!!! 100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
July 24, 20169 yr Beautiful lighting indeed! Nice set. Intel i-9 13900KF @ 6.0 Ghz, MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X 24GB, MSI MAG CORELIQUID C360, MSI Z790 A-PRO WIFI, MSI MPG A1000G 1000W, G.SKILL 48Gb@76000 MHz DDR5, MSI SPATIUM M480 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB, Windows 11 Pro Ghost Spectre x64 “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the day and night to visit violence on those who would do us harm”.
July 24, 20169 yr Agree. I'm switching to X-plane after many years of FSX... I've been waiting for IXEG Great Shots! Zeljko Budovic
July 24, 20169 yr Nice shots. However, for a simulation (X-Plane) that prides itself on having the very best night light environment, I am surprised that the runway lights are so far off. In real life, there is no way you could see the runway lights at such an angle (50-60) as the one shown in Pic 9 and Pic 10. At the very best, runway edge lights can be seen once the aircraft is almost lined up with the runway. Pic 9 and 10 seems to display 360 degree beacons visible at all angles... Or maybe it is made on purpose to help those pilots with sloppy navigation skills? My experience flying is that an airport in the middle of a large city at night is best found by searching for a dark patch almost non-illuminated in the middle of the many city lights. As a matter of fact, the largest aiport in the world, KATL, can best be found by searching for a red "Fly Delta Jets" billboard in a dark patch rather by trying to find non-aligned runways.Minos
July 24, 20169 yr Looks great! Can you tell me what files from w2xp you use, and if yo uadd anything else? (talking scenery, not sky, weather, etc).
July 24, 20169 yr Author Looks great! Can you tell me what files from w2xp you use, and if yo uadd anything else? (talking scenery, not sky, weather, etc). Hi Carlos, I'm using SimHeaven's W2xp Europe Mix: http://simheaven.com/?wpfb_filepage=w2xp_europe_mix-7z The file is huge and extracting takes some time even with an SSD. The other files you might want to download are mesh v3 files. Download only the regions you need. The files are also large, but easy to extract. http://www.alpilotx.net/downloads/x-plane-10-hd-mesh-scenery-v3/ You can download free Austrian airports at http://www.x-plane.org/ Lastly, you need an SSD and at least 16gigs of RAM for best results. Enjoy! Nice shots. However, for a simulation (X-Plane) that prides itself on having the very best night light environment, I am surprised that the runway lights are so far off. Minos When flying at night IRL, I look for the beacon. I'm well aware that I am flying a simulator. I'm not overly critical with how the runway lights look since the majority of XPlane airports are free. But, I do understand what you're saying. Thanks for your post. MSFS
