  1. We could use a second networked computer acting as the FO but providing 2D panel displays on separate monitors?Just a thought. CheersJohn
  2. Yes but I use eGalaxTouch for my screen. It has Win7 support.http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/Touch_Drives.htmlcheersJohn
  3. It's just a screen I picked up from eBay (around $160 USD). It has a VGA port and uses USB for the touch screen. If I run an MFD on it I see some performance loss, my PMDG gauge update rate is 10 fps. But if I use it for the CDU's I see no performance loss.cheersJohn
  4. I cannot detect any frame drop even with two CDU's running. I'm very conscious of anything that reduces my fps and this has no perceivable effect. The screen is only 800x600 and it's powered by an ATI 5770, the renderer should be able to draw very quickly to that display.
  5. I didn't think of that, thank you!Do you know if there is a way to have fsx remember the panel positions or do you manually drag them to your touch screen for each flight?cheersJohn
  6. Hi,Installed a second graphics card in the PC then connected a small 8 inch touchscreen LCD and moved the MCDU to it. Sits just beyond my my throttle levers so I can rest my hand there and use my fingers to operate the unit.I know its nothing new but helps to improve the realism.
  7. Hi,I recently bought a 6970, upgrading from a 5850. I found the performance allot better in FSX. I tried the GTX580 but had to return it when from what I could tell two screens spanned in Win7 was not possible with NVidia cards. (Surround mode requires two cards and has to be three screens.)cheersJohn Headlam
  8. Hi Mike,Do you run in Dx9 mode? I used to get this in Dx9, no issues with Dx10.cheersJohn Headlam
  9. Hi,I was wondering if anybody knows why the indicated airspeed in the PFD is different to that of FSX? That is when you compare it to the stats using shift-z.Thanks.cheersJohn Headlam
  10. Thanks Markus, I used the Martin Air and Swiss Air MD-11 DVD's to craft the fonts, sample the colours and place the various objects. The PMDG MD-11 is a joy to fly, well worth investing the time to build this app.cheersJohn Headlam
  11. Hi all,I've been working on a DX9 glass display for the PMDG MD-11. It connects via simconnect so it can be run from another computer using separate displays. I cannot access any FMS data so the amount of data I can show is limited. All lines, arc's, fonts are generated using tiny triangle-strips to keep the edges sharp and the rendering time minimal. It runs very smoothly on an ATI 5770, about 2.2ms to do all three displays. All flight data is interpolated to give the appearance of real-time operation.cheersJohn Headlam
