  1. The view from T5C is amazing!! 9L and R were both in use and very interesting to watch. Sadly, LHR wasn't that busy because it was a Sunday morning, but it was still very entertaining! Thanks for the response and feel free to check out my channel on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/airindia16?feature=mhee
  2. Oh wow that's rather depressing. I only have just over 2 hours so I think going to different terminals is a waste of time, energy, and also a huge danger if I miss my flight... So what can I see just from the gate? Normal parking and pushback? Is there any point which looks out toward the runway(s)? I apologize for my lack of info, I usually do not go to LHR and am therefore unfamiliar with it.Essentially, what I'm asking is whether or not Heathrow has place like the one circled in the attached picture (its of Newark Airport EWR).Thanks again!
  3. Hey Guys,So I will be stopping over at London Heathrow for two hours while waiting for a connecting flight. So I was wondering what I could possibly do there, and if you could suggest some location (within the airport, I'm not leaving LHR at any point) from which I could watch airplanes. It would be cool if I could watch them landing and taking off; get like a nice high overview of the airport activities, but I'm not really picky. How easy is transport between terminals? Is it free?So I appreciate all suggestions about where I could planespot from at London Heathrow.Thanks!airindia16
  4. When you have a noise cancelling headhphone (you can get one for just about 30 dollars from logitech), you can still hear the engine noise, its just that it is not very audible from the headsets, right? So I would hear it from within the headset?"Logitech ClearChat™ Comfort USB" http://www.logitech.com/en-au/notebook-products/pc-headsets/devices/3621Thanks!
  5. This is what my app data fsx folder looks like, it doesnt have the fsx.cfg...
  6. so if I do have noise reduction, what will I hear from my headphones? Can I hear only the radio of airplanes talking back and forth, or is it just like what I hear right now with my speakers? The thing is that I will only use the headphones for multiplayer, and I do not need it for normal flying because you are never talking, just pressing some key to talk to atc
  7. So for a newbie like me a 30 dollars one is fine? I mean, I am really just interested in being able to communicate with other players in multiplayer... Other than that all other details are welcome, but not needed, really. And what does noise reduction do? Reduces engine noise? Thanks a lot. It's great to get such quick help from Avsim.
  8. I'm sorry, what is speech recognition? And I take it that in order to transmit in FSX, you have to hold down a particular key. I think it was shift+control, something like that.... There is no other way to transmit, right? Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone,I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a decent quality, but not too expensive microphone/headset or whatever is needed to communicate with online flyers in FSX multiplayer. In case it makes a difference, I have Windows XP and an Intellistation Pro Z computer. Thanks for the suggestions!Airindia16
  10. You may have solved your problem but just in case, there is a similar thread going on in flyawaysim forums in case anyone is interested.Good Luck!http://flyawaysimulation.com/postt21781.html
  11. Originally it was hidden, but then I had it display everything; I moved the cfg to the desktop, ran fsx again, but could not find a new fsx.cfg in the same place where it was just a while before. Actually, wouldn't deleting the saved loopy larry mission file resolve this problem also?I really appreciate the help and this case is essentially solved.
  12. I'm sorry, I said that wrong; I found the FSX.cfg file without a problem. I moved it to the desktop, shut off and restarted FSX, and paused the sim. I then looked back at the same location from where I removed the file and I can not find the FSX.cfg which was supposed to have been rebuit.
  13. So does that mean I would have to fly from that location to retain those settings? I can't save it as default from that location, and then say, do a free flight in a completly different place, aircraft, conditions, etc. and still retain those settings (such as parking brake on and throttles at 0%)?
  14. Alright, it's solved! My only question is that when I do a free flight with a 747 at the gate, it still seems to have the throttle set higher than 0% because it would crash into the building if I did not apply the parking brakes. In my default flight, the parking brakes are on, so I do not know why that is still happening. As far as loopy larry goes, he is again confined to that mission. When I moved the fsx.cfg file, the new one was never reconstructed. There is no fsx.cfg file in the fsx app data folder after I removed it...Thanks a lot! I owe you all one.Regards,airindia16
  15. Ah that makes sense. So just get the 172, and set it like I would like to start up any other plane, save it as default and then any other aircraft flown in free flight will retain those settings?Thank you very much!!airindia16
