FSX Multiplayer Mic help.

Featured Replies

No one can hear me in the multi player setup. But I can hear them,I have tested my Mc using the Start-Program-Acessories-entertainement thingi. I have also tested my mic using the FSX sound menu. They all seem to work. When I join, the Radio seem to default to the right frequency...thats why I can hear them.Is there something I have to do to transmit? I am just speaking on the mic and but no can hear me.Any ideas?Manny

hold caps lock while you talk. or it might be shift+capslock as well. one talks to everybody and one just talks to tower.

Thanks Dave.. I shall try that.Manny

I have same prob and shift did'nt work for me - do u have to change channell for comm1 or is it automatic if some one is the controller. I've tried a lot of things but nothing seems to work/ Could do with a noob tutorial.

FWIW the session host decides whether voice is always on (the default) in the game or whether you need to tune a radio and push to talk. Next time you might try using text chat to ask the host what setting they're using.

Hey Mike..The Multiplayer is really nice. It all depends on the quality of the Tower person. The one where the Tower person is knowledgable... its really really nice. The free for all is fun too. Each one has its place.:)Other comments, Issues and Qs:1. I Need to figure out which session are there for the long haul. Meaning.,. Would like to return to some group but not all. 2. I think I have figured out, the addon sceneries I may have on my PC, thats only visible to me not others..even If I host the session. Right?3. Add on aircrafts. I had an add on F18 Hornet. And I checked with others, they saw me as a lear jet. I wonder if we would be able to share addon aircrafts. How the system resolves this anamoly.4. The Host may determine the weather and what not. But do they also control things like "Bloom", autogens and other performance related settings?5. A nice to have would be the Ability to change airplanes in the Lobby. Hopefully in the next version.6. How to improve the geographic scope of this? Meaning.. how do we fly from Seattle to San Francisco? IF there are 5 controllers. 3 ATC and 2 at each airport.. would 94 other players be able to fly back and forth in that geography? If that is so... then we need to have teams to meet on a regular basis for this.7. Connectivity, I get dropped out at times.. saying the Host has just left. I know some folks really do leave. But I suspect, it gives the same message when connectivity is lost. Not sure.8. Aircraft call signs. I was in an F-18 hornet and I had to ask the controller what my call sign was... he said he saw me as "GMM" don't know where that is. Is that the one that says ATC call sign where I could change it when I select the aircraft?9. This Mutiplayer thing is so addictive... even if it has a slight game feel to it. This is going to be a sure winner... Inspite of my earlier misgivings at P-12C Pilot's blog.10. I wonder if I could enter my "gamespot" (Is that what its called..i forget) Logon and pwd could be saved in the cfg file. so I don't have to use my keyboard and do this everyting.11. For serious flying.. we have to figure out how to join back in without a break if we lose connectivity.12. I love it.;)Manny

>The Multiplayer is really nice. It all depends on the quality>of the Tower person. The one where the Tower person is>knowledgable... its really really nice. The free for all is>fun too. Each one has its place.Glad you're enjoying it.>Other comments, Issues and Qs:>>1. I Need to figure out which session are there for the long>haul. Meaning.,. Would like to return to some group but not>all. I'd take advtange of the Friends List feature to track who you like to play with. After you log into GameSpy you'll be able to see who's on-line, even if you're not in a game. You can then invite them to start a session.>2. I think I have figured out, the addon sceneries I may have>on my PC, thats only visible to me not others..even If I host>the session. Right?Correct. Many, many issues involved in sync'ing add-ons.>3. Each play can have their own settings that work well for their PC.>5. A nice to have would be the Ability to change airplanes in>the Lobby. Perhaps someday we'll have more features like those found on virtual airlines, VATSIM, etc.>7. Connectivity, I get dropped out at times.. saying the Host>has just left. I know some folks really do leave. But I>suspect, it gives the same message when connectivity is lost.>Not sure.Yep. Same message when the host losses his connection. (If you think about it the error is generated by your computer so it has to guess why it's no longer talking to the host.) Probably a good idea to have folks with fast connections be host. Also, you might consider running FSX on two machines--one to simply host the session and one for flying--you just join your session from the 2nd PC.)>8. Aircraft call signs. Also, the FSX default aircraft include your callsign on a placard in the cockpit.>9. This Mutiplayer thing is so addictive... even if it has a>slight game feel to it. If the host losses a connection the game is over. :(>12. I love it.Great! Tell your friends. ;)
