December 30, 201015 yr Hey guys,I've got another problem. The "loopy larry" mission, is always playing. That means that when I am in free flight, I hear the loopy larry audio and the box telling the bus when I am ready to go. That basically renders all of my critical tools for flying (like map, realism settings, and atc) useless. Take the attached picture for example. First off, for some random reason, my plane starts out on full throttle in the beginning of a free flight; you can see that I am being hurled into the terminal at Midway, near Chicago when the game finished loading mere seconds previously. And I am not really a suicidal type of flyer ;). I have also checked, my throttles (G940 joystick), is at 0%. That is another problem http://forum.avsim.n...e-flight-speed/Next, because of the Loopy Larry issue, my atc menu fails to properly function. Furthermore, I can not change any setting because FSX thinks that I am in a mission! I would really like some help on this because it seems like my game is just rigged with bugs and getting them all fixed would be a miracle. Thanks for your time!airindia16 P.S. the other picture shows what happens seconds after I unpause the game; after that picture comes the "you failed your mission" screen... frustrating, I know
December 30, 201015 yr simple generic fix for most FS problems -remove the FSX.cfg file to your desktop. (don't throw away as any custom 'tweeks' will need to be kept for reference).start FS ... the game will make a new cfg file and 'reset' to first run status.see if you have any problems.if none, set your sliders back to their prior settings and test.if no problems, one at a time, move your custom cfg 'tweeks' from the save 'old cfg' on your desktop to the new cfg file. test after each change to make sure one of the 'tweeks' wasn't the problem.-- D. December 30, 201015 yr Now that's a new one!!! The only thing I can think of, is that some how you saved that mission as your default flight. If that is what happened, try and load the original flight and set the default flight check mark. If that doesn't work, delete (or rename would probably be a better choice) your fsx.cfg file, and let FSX create a new one. That should definitely clear it up. You will have to set it up again with whatever tweaks you made. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

In previous versions of FS, when you would save it as default, then I think that the game would start up with that flight. How does it work in FSX? Okay thanks though. I will try moving the cfg to the desktop and let you know how it goes.

The only way to clear it at that point is to load another non mission flight. Just setting up a new flight won't do it. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
December 31, 201015 yr Author Alright, it's solved! My only question is that when I do a free flight with a 747 at the gate, it still seems to have the throttle set higher than 0% because it would crash into the building if I did not apply the parking brakes. In my default flight, the parking brakes are on, so I do not know why that is still happening. As far as loopy larry goes, he is again confined to that mission. When I moved the fsx.cfg file, the new one was never reconstructed. There is no fsx.cfg file in the fsx app data folder after I removed it...Thanks a lot! I owe you all one.Regards,airindia16
December 31, 201015 yr There is no fsx.cfg file in the fsx app data foldercorrect because the FSX.cfg file is in the OS 'user documents' folder as MS designed the game to allow multiple users (computer accounts) to create his/her custom configurations.-- D. December 31, 201015 yr Author correct because the FSX.cfg file is in the OS 'user documents' folder as MS designed the game to allow multiple users (computer accounts) to create his/her custom configurations.--I'm sorry, I said that wrong; I found the FSX.cfg file without a problem. I moved it to the desktop, shut off and restarted FSX, and paused the sim. I then looked back at the same location from where I removed the file and I can not find the FSX.cfg which was supposed to have been rebuit.
December 31, 201015 yr I can not find the FSX.cfg which was supposed to have been rebuit.it was ... the game would not have stated without building the file. -- D. Scobie, feelThere support forum moderator: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/169-feelthere-support-forums/
December 31, 201015 yr Do you have Windows Explorer set to view hidden files and folders? By default the fsx.cfg and the folders which contain it are hidden.
January 12, 201115 yr Author Do you have Windows Explorer set to view hidden files and folders? By default the fsx.cfg and the folders which contain it are hidden.Originally it was hidden, but then I had it display everything; I moved the cfg to the desktop, ran fsx again, but could not find a new fsx.cfg in the same place where it was just a while before. Now that's a new one!!! The only thing I can think of, is that some how you saved that mission as your default flight. If that is what happened, try and load the original flight and set the default flight check mark.
