  1. Hello NGX Drivers, I have a question concerning the VC cockpit view for final approach situations. I have trouble keeping track of the PFD information and looking out the window at the approaching threshold and remaining on line with the runway while flying a hands on final. I'm thinking of setting up another monitor and moving the PFD and ND over to it. Will the Wideview software be the best application to do this for me? What do you all find the best way to manually fly the final approach with the VC? I dont have tracker or ezcam , but hat pov does work in VC, but not my 2D. Update:Think I've solved the issue, was able to undock and drag over the FO PFD and ND to another monitor from the FSX window without the use of additional software.. They aren't in full window mode though, not sure how that part is done yet. As another thought, has anyone been successful in undocking and moving the MCP and the EFIS to another monitor or is it even possible to move them? I can't seem to get them to leave their seats. All the best,
  2. Thanks Guys for your help. Found it in the manual as well.
  3. What noise does the horncut out on the throttle cancel. I hear all kinds of warning noises, but clicking on the horn cutout button seems to have no effect. Can someone tell me what it does please and thanks? Ed Burton
  4. Great work Greatly appreciate your efforts and looking forward to this. Thank You Ryan for all the hard work.
  5. Hi all,Didn't really intend on starting a frazzle over spelling. I'm from Canada btw, and we do spell many words differently than out counterparts in the UK or even in the US, or elsewhere for that matter. . :-) My apologies for putting this in the 737 forum. I was reading Mr Randazzo's comments on Spc in the pin and he had mentioned at the end of it all about the 777 news coming at the end of the quarter and without thinking to heavily on it, I posted in the 737 forum. My apologies for that.Good flights to all,
  6. Can't wait to see the PMDG Air Canada Tripple 7' :LMAO:Ed Burton
  7. Hello everyone'First, a thankyou to all who responded to my query on upgrading to Windows 7 a while back. I upgraded this past week to W7 and added another 4G of ram, total of 8 now. In the process the fan on my GT9800 died and the card quit. (hoping a new fan will bring it back to life) Between the video card going and W7 constantly denying me permissions, I just about went mad, but In the meantime I bought a second hand GTS250 to replace it and that seems to be doing ok so far. After installing FSX I installed the PMDG 737NGX. The install went smoothly and the online activation went without a hitch. (Nice stuff)What I'm wondering is whether the Acceleration pack will enhance the NGX? If not I wont bother to purchase it.All the bestEd Burtonwww.737ngxca.com
  8. Excellent Videos. Nice work. Ed Burton
  9. Hi guys,Thanks for responding, nope, don't have either of those,( Trakir or EZCAM), just the mouse and keyboard at the moment. Are these tools kind of necessary tools to use the VC? I'll google up these items and see what they're all about. Appreciate your advices.Ed Burton
  10. Hello Everyone,I always hear everyone talk about how easy (or how much better) the VC is to fly with, but for the life of me I can't seem to get the hang of it. For instance to view the overhead.I scroll up with up arrow key and my view of it becomes sideways. Also the switch captions seem to be blurry.to look at. To view the switches on the overhead I have to turn my head 180 degrees to the right (face close to my right shoulder) and then try and cock my head to 90 degrees upwards at the same time, all the while trying to read which switch or toggle is which.Surely there must be a better way of navigating about this VC cockpit?Anyone have some good tips? (I'm still reading manuals and have always been a 2D person, but no throttle quad in 2D so I'm trying to force myself to go VC now.)ThanksEd Burton
  11. Thanks for the replies,I agree on the 'hidden bits' :-) I googled and found NickN's fsx guide. Looks like it'll be a big help.I'm currently running an i5 running at 750 2.67Ghrz . My video card is a NViidia GEforce 9800GT. I hear others have overclocked thier cpus but that's something I'll have to research before I try that route. With W7 I'm hoping the addition of more ram will speed up my system.Ed Burton
  12. Hello all,I'm currently running XP Pro but planning to upgrade to W7 64 bit system in about 2 months. Is there anything I need to do in advance in order to facilitate a smooth re install? I don't think I can install W7 'over the top' of XP so will probably be wiping the slate clean. Ed Burton
  13. Hi Rob,I have the 79 dollar model . lolEd Burton
  14. Hi Bart,I jumped into that boat also, building home cockpit and the NG will be my ship of choice. I am only on the TQ build yet, but so far thrust and reverse thrust on the TQ seem to be working flawlessly on the NG. There's also a general builders forum at mycockpits.org that contains a wealth of information on just these types of questions. Seems to me many of the guys there are using the 737NGX in thier home pits. If you are already a member there, please disregard my notice concerning the site.Regards,Ed Burton
  15. Happy New Year to all from Northern Ontario, Canada. All the best to everyone in the upcoming year.As PMDG says:Captain Ed Burton (gotta love that) :-)
  16. Ian,Of course you are right, It is a steal of a deal :-) I didn't want to appear less than honest so I toned my comment down slightly. hehehe :-)Happy flightsEd Burton
  17. I agree with Jordon for this kind of quality, $100.00 is truly a bargian.Ed Burton
  18. Thanks everyone for your comments.Ed Burton
  19. Hello all. PMDG please respond also.I guess this will probably sound stupid but does printing out the PMDG manuals for ones personal use violate the copyright agreements? I'm one of those who love reading in bed but right now I use my netbook and adobe to read the PMDG Manuals . (Talking about the 737 NGX Manuals.) The reason I ask is that each page says 'Do Not Duplicate' so I suppose this answers my question, but still I wonder does this also apply for personal use? Thanks Ed BurtonStill reading manuals and hope to take her up soon :-)
  20. Looking for a Toronto to Heathrow flight plan. Thanks in AdvanceEd

  23. Hi everyone. Well..I've ventured back into the realm of flight simulation again. Have been away since I stopped using FS2002. Life got in the way for a bit. Son bought me a copy of FSX in 2006..but was busy going after a PPL at the time so FSX took the back burner. Recently... he's been bugging me to fly online with him..so I did a few flights..and I've been bitten by the bug again. I like to get into it a little more deeply than he does though..and as a past owner of the PSS 747.. the more realistic..the more I enjoy it. Goes without saying I guess. Anyways..sorry for being so long winded..but...I discovered the PGDM 747 and started reading the Pgdm forums. It seems to me..that the PGDM 747 would quite nicely slip into the jetway previously occupied by the PSS ship. I'm a little concerned though..about only being able to purchase as a downloadable. My first question..is there a place that sells the CD Version. I'm always messing things up. I need to be able to have the ability to reinstall when ever necessary. I've already reinstalled FSX at least twcie in the last several months. I'm concerned after reading the posts concerning users who tried to re install and could not.Off topic..but if no cd version..I think I will wait for the 737 to come out. Any ideas when that might be?Ed Burton
