How to make FSX smooth with any LCD, LCD Monitor or Plasma TV connected by DVI / HDMI No cfg file tweaks needed just widescreen true and vsync ForceFullScreenVsync=1 Go to your video control panel AMD Catalyst or Nvidia Control Panel. On Nvidia Control Panel go to Display Select Change Resolution Select your Refresh rate 60Hz, 50Hz, 30Hz, 24Hz (30Hz is best) If you have an AMD / ATI Card go to AMD ATI Catalyst Select Desktop Management Select Desktop Properties Select your Refresh rate 60Hz, 50Hz, 30Hz, 24Hz(30Hz is best) Load FSX go to settings Select Graphics Target Frame rate Adjust your frame rate to match your Hz (30Hz Best) ADJUST YOUR SCENERY, WEATHER AND TRAFFIC SLIDERS AS NECESSARY ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE SURE FSX MAINTAINS YOUR FRAME RATE. I’m running 3 screens which are 24” at a res of 6048 x 1080p 30FPS, 30Hz and it’s smooth Please note this works for me and it might help you. Lipster

Monitor or System Fault
Hi All, I recently updated my computer to an i7 2600k CPU, 8GB RAM, solid state drives.I have tried all of the following GPU’s ATI 5870, ATI 6970 and Nvidia GTX 590I am having problems with tearing and vsync, if the vsync is on I get bad stuttering, if it is off then I get bad tearing. The monitors that I have are three Dell 1920 x 1200’s @ 60hz which previously with my old system (i7 920) worked perfectly with FSX at 30 or 40 fps. I have tried FSX running at 30 fps on my new set up with no good results. I have tried the external frame limiter at 30fps but this fluctuates. The only way that I achieve good results is by using an HDMI cable from my PC to an LCD TV which is @ 100hz, if the TV is at 50hz and I run 50fps with vsync on it’s smooth. I only use this PC for FSX, I have downloaded some demo games to test the system which have all run perfectly on the three monitors. Has anyone got the slightest idea as to why this is occurring as I have read across the internet that a lot of people manage to run the game smoothly with a similar set up to my own. RegardsJimmy
