2011 iMac's
Robinovich replied to Robinovich's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThat's reassuring. Looks like I'll have considerable improvement with my FSX experience on the new iMac. On my current setup I can only run at 1024x768, no anti aliasing, most sliders to the left, the lowest water setting (the sea looks like mud!) and very little traffic. In fact most days it looks like I am flying over Lego land! Thanks again for sharing your experiences. I'll be ordering my new iMac very soon.

NGX+ iMac = true?
Thanks Joseph. My posting on this discussion was to try and prompt a response from 'Cast65' who posted before me regarding purchasing a new iMac. I wanted to hear how the 2011 iMacs perform with FSX.I have also posted on the hardware section of this forum for anyones experiences there, and any comparisons from PC hardware. No response as yet...As for buying a PC, much cheaper and faster yes, but unfortunately not an option for me. My job dictates that I have to use a Mac. In an Ideal world I'd have both, my finances dictate I can't...

2011 iMac's
Hello all,I have been following a thread on 'PMDG General' section of this forum regarding iMacs, unfortunately that discussion seems to have run cold.So I thought I'd ask the question on a more relevant section.Has anyone one had any experience running FSX (via Bootcamp) on the 2011 Sandy Bridge iMacs? And if so, how does FSX perform? Also if anyone has a similar spec'd PC and/or has a good idea how the new iMac may perform I'd appreciate your views? I am looking to buy a 27" i7 @ 3.4GHz (no over-clocking on a Mac).I am not looking for a debate on the pros and cons of buying a Mac and not a PC, my profession dictates that I use a Mac. So I'd appreciate views and experiences of just the above questions only.Cheers!Robin

NGX+ iMac = true?
Hello all,I read this post a few weeks ago and I am waiting with interest to see what performance experiences people have had with the new Sandybridge iMacs. Can anyone enlighten me to how FSX runs on the 2011 iMacs?I am at a point where I need to replace my struggling 2009 Core Duo iMac and I would welcome anyones experiences before I commit to new hardware?RegardsRobin
