  1. I was flying from KSLC - KATL using "Wx influenced" autosubmit. All along the route, the WX never changed, though the ASG said the graphics were changing. Nothing changed outside. The "decoded" box kept saying 'no clouds, no precip'. After to re-set the AS6 'options' to "default", it now works fine and the wx changes from city to city. I have only one question: Is there anything in the 'options' default settings that you recommend changing that doesn't mess up how the program reads and changes the wx. Or should I just leave it alone?
  2. ASE? I'm using AS 6.5 with FS9. I did notice that all along the route, the entry in the 'decoded' box in AS kept saying 'no clouds' no precip but I knew there was. I want it to where anything that can update, will do so along the route. So I have ASG auto-submit using 'WX influenced for both the full sky theme and the cirrus. I also have 'force sky' ASG clicked. I restored the 'options' defaults and now it works more like it should. I wonder if I had clicked something that suppressed the clouds and precip. Maybe I should just leave the default settings?
  3. A curious observation. As I fly from KSLC to KATL, the wx outside never changes, but the ASG "Selection details" change dramatically. The wx reporting stations report changes in the wx along the route but I don't see much change. Just light bluish haze with a pollution ring on the horizon. I'm using the 'wx influenced' graphic setup which I have set to 'auto submit' so that is working fine. No changes outside though.
  4. UPDATE!!Now I feel kinda dumb though I'm not sure how it happened. I looked inside AS and found there were TWO wx themes titled "wx influenced". I checked the properties on one was created last week so I'm wondering if I inadvertently saved a weather theme and didn't rename it. I deleted that one and checked the other and that one was created in 2006 is no doubt the one that came with the program. I tried everything again, loaded different flight plans and NOW the selection details change substantially! So the other one must have been a fixed theme that was never going to change. Thank you for setting me in the right direction but I guess this was just something dumb that I did. All seems in order now. Many thanks
  5. Did all that and yes I'm referring to the Graphics. The WX does change and that's never a problem. ASG auto submit is definitely checked with 'wx influenced' as the choice. The "selection details" is what doesn't change. I 'fetch' wx for different cities and 'refresh'. the same selection details throughout. from cloud textures down to haze color and density. All these cities wouldn't display the same graphics. Does it have to do with the default start up location? It seems to want to default now to KSEA but that's where I last took off from. I pull in the wx from other cities though and the graphics still show3D clouds 01 thick, sky color is the same 'fixed polluted A2 day set', haze is still 'bluish', density is still "6". It's probably something simple but it's gone past me for some reason. I hit refresh and it says it's updating graphics, but it still shows the same 'selection details' no matter what wx station i input.
  6. I'm sorry, I'm still not getting any wx changes. Here's the process I'm using: FS is CLOSED My flight plan is KSEA-PANCAS 6.5 is 'paused'I import my flightplanI have 'autosubmit wx influenced" checkedI "fetch" wx for KSEAI process the imported flight planI refresh the AS6.5 (I have not yet started FS9)I check the graphics and they are the same as the last 4 flightplans. Each category is unchanged. The same clouds, same haze color and density, same environment, same everything. what have I missed? ThanksWayne Maynard
  7. Hi,I did have one last question. Is the above procedure also supposed to change, in addition to the sky theme, the 3D clouds, the Environment, cirrus clouds, sky color in the ASG? Reason I ask, is on the last 3 flights, I see the same cloud, environment, etc. settings as previously. Aren't they supposed to change according to wx influences? thanks
  8. oh well that's easy. I was selecting the 'wx influenced' theme at the graphics menu but I noticed the same kind of wx kept coming up. I also was starting FS9 BEFORE anything else so this is very helpful info and I thank you.
  9. Under "graphics", I see: options, save them, quick select, selection details, browse, send to fs, close. All I'm trying to do is get AS to use 'wx influenced' graphics for the sky, clouds and environment each time I start up without having to go in and re-set each time.Wayne Maynard
  10. Guess I'm dense. I'm not finding the 'snapshot' system. Is it called something else? ThanksWayne Maynard
  11. Really?? why is that? ok, my name is Wayne Kenneth MaynardI was born in Queens NY,I presently reside in Miami, FLmy taxes are paid up and I'm registered to vote in FL. Now, could I find out about the wx influenced settings?
  12. I'm a little confused on this setting. when I set for WX influenced, do I changed each of the categories or only the "sky theme"? Also, do I have to set this each time before I fly or just do it once and then it remembers? Thanks
  13. Hi,I wanted to ask two things:1. Can the aircraft parameters be changed in RC? Things like rate of descent and things of that sort? Reason I ask is that in my heavy jets it seems like to turn to final can be pretty tight and I often overshoot the beam. It seems I'm vectored to my final turn when I'm already perpendicular to the runway angle. Maybe I just don't make sharp enough turns? :)2. Other question, how does RC select runways, especially for landings? Unlike the FS9 ATC which vectors you to the closest runway, RC seems to vector to the farthest one. Today, from MMMX-KATL I was vectored to rwy 8L which is the northern most runway and my path intercepted other inbounds. For t/o from MMMX, i was directed to 23L, rather than the 23R. None of this is a big deal, just more curiosity as it seems to operate much differently than FS9. thanks much
  14. I just noticed I'm missing the 'check for updates' button. All the others are there, but there's a blank spot where this one should be. Did I set up RC incorrectly?
  15. Well it's at least good to know what causes the crash. I hate it when things happen and the cause can't be found. I added that 'removeATC" line in my FSUIPC.ini so Saturday I'll try my KCLE - KPHX flight again and see if I can bring her in.
  16. This is useful information. When I had my crash, I was FL 350 over Missouri somewhere, changing Center frequencies. My airports have had their frequencies changed per real life approach/center info pulled off the Internet. I did insert the line mentioned in the FSUIPC.ini so we'll see how that goes. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait for RC5. That would be a bummer as RC has a lot of nice features.
  17. I finally got the hang of RC 4.3 and was flying along nicely from KCLE to KPHX when 2 hours into flight, my screen goes black and I get that dreaded "Microsoft Flight Simulator has encountered a problem and .... bla bla bla". You know the rest.At that moment RC was giving a command to change Center frequencies. I don't know if there was a connection or not, as this had never happened before when using the generic FS9 ATC. I really like the Autopilot options in RC where you can auto tune frequency changes and fly your route all on AP. I'm going to try the flight again this weekend and see if it happens again but just wondering if anyone had run into this. Not sure it was RC, it was just odd that the problem occurred the first time I used RC on Full A/P. Thanks
  18. The easiest remedy I found for the 'pushback/tail left/tail right' issue is to change the commands in RC rather than FS9. I just changed the commands in RC where the '1' and '2' commands were changed to "CS+1" and "CS+2" for ATC acknowledgments. FS9 keys were left alone so no more problem.
  19. Hi,the simplest solution was the most obvious. I just re-mapped the RC keys "1 and 2" to CS+1 and CS+2 and left the FS9 key assignments as they were.
  20. roger all that and thanks!
  21. wow, I was a bit behind on the 'makerwys' part of it. I was on ver 4.2, the FSUIP was ok at 3.98 so everything now updated. Thanks for your help on this. Much appreciated.
  22. I did check all that and looks correct. I only noticed it this one time so far. When I landed at KLAX all seemed in order. There were a lot of AI's coming in to PHNL at the same time. BTW, how do I check the 'makerwy' version? I think it has to be ver. 4.41 or something like that? Thanks much
  23. Much appreciated. It's not a big deal unless I have a big jet that's in a tight parking spot. It really helps to get her turned around in the general direction of taxi.
  24. I got my throttle issue fixed. I'm still working on the Pushback re-configuration. Thanks for your help
  25. I notice that RC seems to be behind on AI announcements. While waiting for my departure from PHNL today, RC announced that Pan Am 1016 was on 6 mi final, when in fact, it had already landed. Is this just one of things about RC that might need a little work? Thanks
