  1. Ed, Once you have the scenery folder, you will have several .bgl files including the AFX file we created for the patch. After that, everything should line up properly.
  2. Ed,When you run the installer for FlySeattleFSX, it creates a new folder in your Addon Scenery folder called "FlySeattleFSX" which contains two sub-folders called "Scenery" and "Texture". See below: If you click and open up the "Scenery" folder, you will find several .bgl files listed. The "AFX_KSEA.bgl" is the AFX file we are referring to. It should be included in the download. If its not there, then try to reinstall the entire thing. We created the AFX file to match up all the gate parking and to set the correct elevation. Hope this clarifies.
  3. Paul, You are correct in your observation that the PDX patch causes shorelines in both Portland and as far North as Seattle to be screwed up. Part of the reason I had mentioned previously that this patch indeed needs some work. I have not yet found a solution but would like to find the original fix that was created for the FS9 verion. Any outside help would be appreciated.
  4. The latest information from both FlyTampa and Orbx was that the plan to update KSEA for FSX has been dropped. The guys at FlyTampa say the Seattle area is plagued with too many issues that cause big time Framerate hits in FSX, which is true. You will no doubt have framerate drops with this patch as well. There are some detailed instructions included in the ReadMe file that address this issue which might help. As for Orbx, they have dropped the plans for both KSEA and KPDX because of the size of the airports. There focus, according to a statement on the webisite, is to concentrate on smaller GA airfields. And they do a fantastic job with GAs, I might say. Thus, our decision to create the patch file for FlySeattle. So unless the new Microsoft Flight or X-Plane 10 has some great surprises for us, this is the best we can do for now. Although there is a KPDX FlightZone 02 patch download on our site available for download, it still needs some work. Hope to work on a KPDX update this winter. [email protected]
  5. Was Re-Uploading the Installer files to the website on Aug 4. All should be well now. Let us know if you experience any other download issues. Larry

  7. Hi Guys,Larry here from www.myflightsimblog.com and co writer of the KSEA patch. Please keep in mind that this is a Beta release and we really appreciate you all raising the types of questions that you have in this forum so we can iron out the kinks. Just to chime in and possibly answer a few questions. Just as Anthony had mentioned, We had some big time spamming issues on the old myflightsimblog forum page. In an effort to tighten security to eliminate spammers, I added the Rule that you would have to register by email. I tested it with my email and received an instant response when i simulated a new registration. Could it be that the email went to your Spam box? If others are having the same issue, let me know and I will remove the "register by email" requirement. I will post a link of this forum onto the myflightsimblog forum for those seeking info. Ed, by looking at the pic above, your runways do not match up with the satellite image, and it should match exactly. There is a new KSEA AFX file included with the patch. Looking at your pic, it suggest you may have another KSEA AFX or Afcad file in a higher anarchy than the one included with the patch. DO NOT place the afcad file that is in the old FlySeattle FS9 file into the new FlySeattleFSX scenery folder. Try placing the new FlySeattleFSX scenery file at the very top of your FSX scenery library and see if it makes a difference. We have had very limited testing of this patch WITHOUT the use of Orbx PNW in place. Also, the new Installer files on the website have been corrected to create a separate FlyTampaFSX file with both a "Scenery" and "Texture" subfolder. And YES, you should copy all textures from the original FlySeattle FS9 Texture folder to the new FlySeattleFSX texture folder. We will update the pdf manual to include these instructions. BTW, the only difference between the Windows 64 bit download vs the Windows 32 bit download is a slight variation in the directory path where the installer places the files on your HD. Otherwise, the files are exactly the same. We thought this might prevent some possible confusion. Thanks again for the input. Feel free to drop me an email anytime at [email protected]. I will continue to check back on this forum periodically as well. And thanks to Anthony for already answering so many questions. Larry
  8. Hi everyone. I am pleased to announce that with the assistance of Catchman86 and some guidance from George at FlyTampa, we have completed a new Beta patch entitled FlySeattleFSX merge file for FSX and Orbx. You can download the patch with complete instructions at http://www.myflightsimblog.com. Please keep in mind that this is a BETA test file. Any feedback about performance and problems you experience would be greatly appreciated. You can either email me from the site email link or use the website forum to post questions and/or comments. We feel that this release will fill a huge gap in the FSX sim world. You will need an original copy of FlyTampa Seattle for FS2004 and of course, FSX. Limited test have been made with installation without the use of Orbx PNW Blue scenery, but it appears to work fine without Orbx as well. Enjoy! Larry
  9. Leen,You are a freakin Genius.....well at least more experienced than I am with re-textures. LOL. Apparently, the photo editing program I was using (GIMP) had changed the file type for me whenever I would save it because it wasn't sure how to handle a particular layer. I choose "ignore" and saved it as the same as the original. Further investigation had reveled the same to happen to a second texture. Thus, the reason for the black on top of the car and the rear bumper. Correction of these two files resulted in a perfect texture. Thanks for your insight. I think I will now Upload the repaint to AVSIM. Below is a photo of the finished product showing the hood, top, and back.
  10. I am having a problem with re-textureing of this addon. I want to re-texture for District of Columbia Police car. It looks pretty good at this point, but when I try to recolor the hood, it just turns black. Also, the top is black and two areas on the bumper are black. This isn't the case on the original. I have tried changing every black texture in the model with no avail. If anyone would like to take a look at my new texture file, then send me n email at: [email protected]. Thanks in advance Larry www.myflightsimblog.com
