  1. ok, think i have this thing figured out, has to do with some sort of other fuel valve in addition the the 2- shut off valves on left side cockpit. The way i see it is certain aircraft in FSX have different mechanisims programmed in to control fuel flow, I THINK. For example, look a a default c-172. You push in mixture, and set fuel tank to on, very similar to older cessna, but in the newer generation 172s there is an additional tiny fuel valve shut off control in cockpit, very easy to miss, and by default it is on. Some add-ons mimic this valve in some way, and its easy to access, and some have a fuel on/off valve, but it appears to be related to some other system. so, problem with me is the following. my default start-up flight is based on a 172 cold and dark, most cold and dark set-ups have most items shut down, but this fuel valve appears on, so if you s/w to another aircraft, regardless of fuel mechanisims, this function allows fuel into system. Well, i like a very realistic cold and dark, so in additional to everything being shut down, i also have this valve turned off. so when i load the c90 cold and dark fsx also has this particular fuel related valve turned off, as programmed by default load scenerio. problems appears when there is no equivalent on/off s/w, or valve in the c90, at least i cannot find one w/o a good reference manual, many times simply moving mixture to rich will allow fuel, and if there is a valve, as on a jet aircraft, i.e. 737, below main throttles, which allows fuel in, as well as the c90, but not in the same way, or least i cannot find how. you would think the two shut off valves on left fuel panel will mimic this, but it does not. So, i noticed recently following the saving of this default cold & dark set-up i have a no start problem n a few other complex a/c, with even auto start not working. i had this happen ercently with new CS 737-200/100...could not start no matter what, sometimes, but not always..may have to do with what i was doing prior to s/w to 737. So, i tested this theory and voila..it worked. I.E., went to my start-up aircraft, the c-172, found that fuel shut off valve, turned it on, and s/w to c90..started in 30 secs..no issue at all..and i do like the little experience i have had in this new c90..sure some bugs but so far seems pretty good. so anyhow, now i set up my new default flight in cold and dark, everything off, except that little fuel valve in the c-172, or i guess i could just save a default flight using another default aircraft, but whatever you are basing this new fault flight on, i.e. a 172..need to make sure that before you s/w to naother default start-up bird this valve is left on. so anyhhow just a theory, it works for the c90 and the other start up problems every once in a while, i have with other add-ons. having a similar problem with electronic but with my ariane 737. no matter what i do, power seems on, apus, s/w set for proper power, radios look on, but some sort of circuit, that i cannot locate, so set up using checklist, but cannot use radios until main engine started, and cant start engine, unless auto start, many times...again every power light on, apu, ground, etc..all showing power, but some sort of bus and/or system not powered up enough for radios and main engine start...any suggestions..i think all these issuses are somewhat related to how i program my cold and dark start ups and what aircraft is part of that start up flight. so at least try this and see if your c-90 starts following normal procedures...thanx jjetmec
  2. thanx guys for quick feedback, unfortunately, like i said in my original post, followed all checklists by the book, as printed by carenardo. i even have some stick time, and was an A&P mech on B1900D for US AIR EXPRESS working the PT6s, so now only followed carenardos lead, but also my own techniques, based on expereince..,then i just said what the heck, and tried every combination possible. so b/c no other reporting this issue, must have some bad code, or bad file, or something..so easy enough to uninstall, and re-install, or even re-download. if anyone comes up with other options, or ideas in the meantime let me know. i will give it a go..thanx jjetmec
  3. Hey guys..you all seem to be doing better than me. I spent two hours last night just trying to start pt6 engines. very experienced simmer, never gave up on an engine start, but after two hours enough was enough. i did fly it though, only after loading another aircraft on the ramp, starting her up, then switch to the C90. Following that I thought it flew okay, better than some, yes did notice a few glitches, but could live with many for a while. Did also struggle with setting headings, and course for nav options..whats up with that. never had two many issues with carenardo in past, but this one has me ticked. but before i go on blamming the developer, maybe i am overlooking something stupid on my part. I followed check list by book for start, but nothing but starter wine, then i went on trying everything i know regarding propjet starts, and just could not make it work, a matter of fact could not even get the right engine to even engage starter, only left, although checklist suggests right start, as with most twins. so any advice on that welcomed. yes i did email carenardo, and they responded right away reporting no issue reported on that following initial sales. they said try starting the way i did, i.e. go to another airplane, then s/w back. i had already done that with success, so system working, but no follow=up from them again. so what am i doing wrong? thanx paul
