  1. Please refer to this. They exist and are different things. Texture_Max_Load is the maximum texture resolution. I believe that 2048 means FSX uses textures up to 2048x2048. However FSX returns this value to 1024 every time. TextureMaxLoad is related to how FSX loads textures. They say changing this value correctly results in improving the blurries or stutters.

  4. Hello. I'm a bit bored to fly today's typical commercial jets. I wanna fly different situations, so I'm interested in buying SSTSim Concorde or VRS F-18.Of course, they aren't comparable. I'd like to ask you some questions of them. My PC is old. The spec is following. CPU:Core2Duo OCed to 3.0GB. OS: Vista 32bit. Memory:3GB usable. Graphics:9800GT 512MB.1. Frame rate of VC. I prefer VC and want 25fps at least on my pc.2. Refresh rate of VC Gauge. Normally, that of FS9 seems limited to very low. I don't want to see HUD stuttering.3. Navigation. I don't want to waste my time to input coordinates of waypoints to CIVA INS. But I also don't like default GPS. Can I use a 3rd party navigation system with them if I bought it?Thanks.
  5. It looks that there are no airways, because SID's end and STAR's starting point is the same, AVE VOR.You should check the charts required. Look at PORTE3.AVE, which is a transition of one of SIDs in KSFO.It ends at AVE. Then look at AVE.SADDE6, which is a transition of one of STARs in KLAX.It starts at AVE. So, the route should be "KSFO PORTE3.AVE(SID) AVE AVE.SADDE6(STAR) KLAX".According to the chart, SADDE6 is radar-vectored STAR. So you'll be vectored to final approach course for KLAX.I'm not a native English speaker, so it may sounds weird.
  6. You had discovered a great thing!Thank you for your effort. This topic should be made sticky.
  7. For commercial aircraft:1.Turn on NAV lights when you got electric power except from battery. I mean APU or GPU. Also turn on logo lights and wing lights as required(night time).2.Turn on red beacon lights before activate hydraulic power to let ground persons know it. This should be before pushback.3.Turn on taxi lights after you got taxi clearance.4.Turn on landing lights and strobe lights, then turn off taxi lights when you got takeoff clearance.5.Turn off landing lights when you climb through 10,000 feet.6.Turn on landing lights when you descend through 10,000 feet.7.Turn on taxi lights, then turn off landing lights and strobe lights after landing.8.Turn off taxi lights when you got to the gate.9.Turn off red beacon lights after deactivate hydraulic power.10.Turn off NAV lights when you make aircraft cold and dark situation.I want to know about general aviation aircraft. Anyone?
  8. In real, generally you will be lead to an approach fix(IAF, IF, FAF) by STAR. Then you start an approach normally. But in some large airports, especially in USA, STAR will lead you not an approach fix but a waypoint, on the way, ATC will vector you to approach course. For this type of STAR, sentences like this, "...then via R-123 to AAA. Except radar vectors to final approach course." are given on STAR charts. In FS, FS ATC has no concept of SID/STAR. You takeoff, are vectored with climbing, proceed on course(along airways), level off and cruise, then FS ATC will give an instruction of vector to final approach course when FS ATC decide. You set STAR, then descend along it halfway, but FS ATC will vector you suddenly. You may follow the instruction. But there is an another way that you ignore FS ATC and just continue your route along STAR to an approach fix.In this case, FS ATC will annoy you with frequent command, but just ingore. It hands off to tower when you are near the arrival airport.Of course, in real life, ATC is like a god except TCAS. You must not ignore them
  9. For commercial flights, they always use IFR. So they got instructions from ATC.For example, if you filed a flightplan that leads you to a waypoint which is common to some SIDs, ATC will choose one.Though it may be refused, they can make a request in flight. For example, on an approach, direction of the wind has changed rapidly. The pilot may ask the tower if he can do circle-to-land.Company radios may also help them know the weather conditions, but you should listen to the ATIS, which tells you runway using, before contact with tower.
  10. First, I'm not a pilot.About the 1) question, check your DME receiver. Make sure its source is set to NAV1.About the 2),No traffic pattern before an approach. A traffic pattern is a part of landing. In addition, when you're circling, you must be able to see the runway visually on the traffic pattern at all times in IFR. If you missed the runway on the traffic pattern, you must go missed-approach. I mean, no ILS are required on traffic patterns. If your position on approach is not aligned with the runway using , FS ATC recognize you're on the traffic pattern, but that is a mistake of FS ATC design.Generally, you'll get to an approach fix on your chart with STAR. Charts of the world are available on the net. Just search [the country] AIS. For USA, access flightaware or airnav. But in some airports, is especially big or in USA, or in FS ATC, you'll be vectored. In this case, just follow the heading directed by ATC.Set the ILS frequency and the course to your radio. But be careful, there are two types of radio. One is NAV(VOR) & LOC integrated, the other has separately a NAV receiver and a ILS receiver. When you find your localizer needle starting to move, turn in order to capture the localizer on center. When the glideslope is centered, just start to descend .If you perform circling, and got runway insight, stop descending to enter the traffic pattern at the altitude of the traffic pattern. Then ILS/LOC of the runway is not required anymore. Land visually without radios. If you don't perform circling, just continue descending. If it's not ILS approach but LOC approach, check altitude restrictions on chart. When you got runway insight before DA/MDA(DH/MDH), just land. Autopilot is not for persons who can't fly himself, so practice hand-flying without visibility(before DA). I recommend a small GA aircraft for it first.Sorry for my English.
  11. Oh, that's a sad news for me...Thanks for the info.
  12. It didn't work at all.I want to ask what version of FSX you use and if MomentumEffect=No and [DynamicHeadMovement] work.Maybe is it fixed on Acceleration Pack? If so, I'll buy it.I'm using FSX SP2 and the tweak didn't work.Thanks.
  13. Hi. I'm annoyed at head movement effect, or "Momentum Effect".I put this to fsx.cfg:[DynamicHeadMovement]LonAccelOnHeadLon=0.000000LonAccelOnHeadPitch=0.000000RollAccelOnHeadLat=0.000000YawAccelOnHeadLat=0.000000RollAccelOnHeadRoll=0.000000MaxHeadAngle=0.000000MaxHeadOffset=0.000000HeadMoveTimeConstant=0.000000and for cameras.cfg(both one in appdata and another in FSX's root)MomentumEffect=No(I also tried FALSE)In addition, I pasted MomentumEffect=No in Camera section of aircraft.cfg.But they won't work. I still got the effect. Am I doing wrong?I'm using vista 32bit.By the way, does anyone know how to activate "fake spoilerons" visualy without affecting flight dynamics? Thanks.
  14. If you are annoyed at ai traffic, just use time acceleration above or at 8x times, then set back.It will eliminate flying traffic.
  15. Thank you for your reply. And I'm sorry that my post caused a misunderstanding my intention.I mean that I want to correct the whole colors instead of [colorCORRECTION] of ENBSeries, not related to visibility or fog.
