It's for sure improving, but that AS screenshot looks terrible.

It's a subjective matter, people could say the more complex the better, but others could say "it looks horrible", that's maybe why there're so many beta versions trough their open beta program and a very few official or stable releases (and the latest are the ones I'm waiting for, after the "old" v8883).

I don't think you guys in the US have switches on your power outlets but we in the UK do

I don't have those power outlet switches, but my PSU (Corsair, desktop) has a switch I only use to turn off everything when I'm away from home (usually three/four weeks trips).

  3. This simple question is directed to trying to keep our PCs in the best possible condition. After a day of work or simulation, we can decide to turn them Off, put them to Sleep or to Hibernation every night.

Each condition is different and according to several sources on the web that I read a while ago, it would be better not to turn it on/off every day because it could cause a lot of stress on the machine, and on that occasion those sources recommended instead putting it in Sleep or Hibernation. I usually try to put it into Hibernation every night, but I tend to think that it is not too safe because a external power supply problem (a storm, a power failure, a voltage overload, etc.) to our homes could cause problems and damage compared to having them off, or, as has happened to me on some rare occasions, the Hibernation or Sleep do not work as intended during the restart of the computer the next day.

What is your opinion and your preferred practices?.

Filou convinced me to give this a whirl and went first to Flightsim.to and downloaded their copy.   I installed it, and it tells me the version is expired and directs me to Github.  I download its latest version and it's asking for payment and this is the first I've heard you have to pay monthly or yearly to use it, whereas I'm sure I read it is/was free.  Also, apparently there is a watermark w/ Google on it and there is a 'Bing' version that doesn't have the watermark:

    1.  Where to get the Bing version?

    2.  Is it still possible to try it for free?  The interface to pay scared me a bit!

    Thanks in advance

There's a free Bing version available from the main drop-down menu of the Map Enhancement. Look for Bing Maps (latest). These are the ones I keep using and in my opinion are better than Google Maps.

The current version (Github) is v7.6.0

have also updated with weather presets? Doe anyone know what these are?

Weather presets are used to simulate weather that matches the conditions for certain effects to appear or be noticed from inside and outside the cockpit. P42 has a huge experience in special effects for flight simulator since the FSX and P3D times. You won't waste your money.
