Not yet, I think you are one of those lucky enough to not have the issue, it would be interesting to know what the source or combination was that caused it.

Apparently solved for people in the SU15 beta. The good thing about this bug is that the spinning circle "CHECKING FOR UPDATES" is not present 😆

Changing the CEO will do NOTHING to solve whatever the problem is. The problem is systemic, Just changing the "management" won't fix a thing. IMNSOHO.........

It's somewhat true, but the move is needed for many additional reasons

Not what the OP was talking about, Windowed mode thing still the same for this non-beta user but there's already a thread for that issue.

(They are separate issues, I have the windowed mode bug but not the stuff Bob Mentions in his first post)

Yes, probably. It's weird all those kind of things happening at the same time.

  4. Got the same quick Installation Manager update screen, that disappeared too fast to allow me to check anything. Then the sim started to load in windowed mode, so I pressed the Alt + ENTER to put in full screen and luckily everything went fine and could complete a short flight. I think something's should be going on with the MS Servers.

Definitely not normal. Alt+F4 normally closes all windows. You could try "Window" -> "Reset Window layout to default". Maybe a stray dock window acting up or a warning/error window hidden behind the main. The latter case should normally not happen.

Error or warning windows normally remain open and do not disappear automatically. Maybe that's what you closed using Alt+F4. This makes sense.

You can always download one of the 3.0.5 Zip files and use the portable mode to try it out without messing up your main configuration.

To speed up starting disable all unneeded online stuff. Especially online services which can delay startup or block the program shortly after starting.

    1. Disable web server in menu Tools
    2. Uncheck all unneeded weather in options on page "Weather" and in main menu "Weather".
    3. Deselect "Download oceanic tracks on startup" in menu flight plan
    4. Exclude the LNM options folder "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel" from anti-virus scanning. Maybe the LNM installation folder too. Instead scan the folder manually after installation.

Edit: You can send me an issue report if you run into the same problem.

    Ok, thanks, I'll try

The program is not frozen if you can close it with Alt+F4.

You maybe ran into a issue with the web server which took too long to find all computer addresses. This was fixed in 3.0.4.

What I meant is that the LNM window was not active when opened, and had to press Alt + F4 to make it active. What I noticed when I tried to start LNM is that it took long to load the main view (map view) and it tried to open a small window in the background that I suppose was the window that remained active, but it disappeared after the main screen was loaded up, and that is when I needed to press Alt+F4 to make the main LNM screen active. Is that a normal behavior? and what should I do to avoid this?.

the presets are good, the issue is the dependencies. if you change computers or re-install windows it wipes those out, even thought I have the app running on an external ssd. i'm looking for a way to change dependency location to save onto my SSD

The dependencies (part of what I call configuration files of the app), are all stored in the same location in C:\ProgramData\....

A computer change or a windows re-install are operations that I suppose you don't perform very often.

  8. On my two MSFS installations (PC and laptop), the configuration files like presets, dependencies, etc. of the MSFS Addons Linker are installed by default on C:\ProgramData\MSFS Addons Linker. So, each time there's an update of the application, the configuration files should remain unchanged.

There's an option in Tools --> Options --> General Tab to change the location of your presets if you wish.
