  1. Delta never operated the 717 in the past. They did sell a bunch of DC-9-30's to ValuJet (who later became AirTran), but the 88 717's they are leasing from Southwest will be the first time Delta had the 717.
  2. I think you have that backwards. Delta is getting all of AirTran's 717's because Southwest doesn't want them. Southwest only wants to operate 737's to keep their operating costs down. Boeing inherited the MD-95 program when they bought McDonnell Douglas. Since the design was pretty much finished they decided to continue and produce the airplane and designated it the 717 since they skipped over it in the past. They dropped the program because it was too similar to the 737-600 and didn't want to undermine their own product.
  3. Delta is retrofitting the MD-88's and MD-90's with new avionics. I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon. http://presscenter.innovative-ss.com/press-release/innovative-solutions-support-inc-receives-delta-air-lines-inc-award-nextgen-flat-panel
  4. Marcelo, this link no longer functions. Any way I can get this texture fix?
  5. Has anyone painted the retro liveries for the Alaska Airlines -800, American Airlines -800, and Continental -900 (I believe it might be a -900ER so this one should wait until PMDG releases the ER package)?
  6. Aloha did briefly operate a -800 that they leased from Transavia Airlines.
  7. American 25, Boston - Los Angeles, Just over Albany VOR
  8. I was flying a route from PHNL to PANC that required lat/long waypoints be entered in the fmc this morning and noticed that with LNAV engaged upon passing the custom waypoints, my -800 would turn about 45 degrees to the left of the magenta line and would continue heading in that direction. I disabled LNAV and used heading mode to steer back on to course but the aircraft would make the same 45 degree turn as soon as I turned LNAV back on again. The only way to stop this turning and allow LNAV to track the proper course is to activate direct to for each of the custom waypoints. Any ideas?
