  1. Folks,The first thing to check , if you cannot align with the ILS, on autopilot, or manual (the needles don't line up), is if the airport uses the same ILS frequency for different runways. Example: JFK ILS 4R and ILS 22R use the same frequency in FSX and in real life, 109.5. The problem is, FSX defaults to a mode where it always recognizes the backcourse of an ILS...and consequently, it picks the closest ILS antenna, which, btw, is at the END of the runway...so to make a long story short...I was lined up on the localizer for 4R at JFK , NAV 1 tuned to 109.5, and my JS41 was picking up the ILS 22R backcourse localizer, and it was just not lining up, of course not, they are different runways. In real life, the tower has toggle switches, and they would rarely have them turned on both at once. OK , now that I muddy up the waters nice and proper , here is the fix. I downloaded a freeware airport editor for FSX AFCAD files, and along with FSX SDK (Software Development Kit), I removed the backcourse option for those two runways, (at least the folks who designed FSX , gave us the opiton). I would have to do that at any airport which use the same ILS frequency for different runways. It works great, and is easy to do. I just can't fly the backcourse on those ruways, big whoop.I really hope I didn't confuse the heck out of everyone.Good flying, keep the shiny side up and oily side down.Jim WarrenKPOU-PPL, Treasurer, Grasshopper Flying Club
  2. #1 on my SP2 List is making the 'Hold" function work on the GNS-xls.But if NGX comes out before JS41 SP2, I may not even remember that I have JS41 installed, just kidding :)Thanks,Jim WarrenKPOU - PPL
  3. Well folks, a great day indeed today.I had my biennial flight review earlier today...and the Captain's set of manuals were sitting on my front stoop on my return from the airport. Thanks PMDG, looking forward to a great read over the holidays.Jim Warren, KPOU
  4. Thanks Ryan and Rob,Much appreciate the concern you guys have for your customers...top notch.Looking forward now to a great holiday, not that I wouldn't have anyway, but now it will be better. :)Thanks,Jim Warren, KPOU
  5. Thanks Ryan,For some reason I (mistakenly) read that post as STARTING to ship again on Wednesday, and I was assuming at a worst case scenerio that mine could ship later. I see now that mine will ship tomorrow, Wednesday, which is just fine. Thanks for setting my mind at ease. Too bad PMDG didn't forecast the demand correctly (hard to do, I know), but very glad for PMDG that they were so popular. That should also give you a heads up on how much demand there will be for the 737NGX, I can't even imagine. Good luck with that.Looking forward to many hours of fine reading over the holidays. Thanks, Jim Warren, KPOU.
  6. Just read in one of the 'pinned' topics, (that's why I didn't see it before), that PMDG ran out of stock and don't expect to start shipping again until Wednesday. I wish I knew this before I ordered. Bummer. I knew there was a problem. Let's say mine ships on Wednesday, does anyone know how long to NY? Is my Christmas delivery screwed? If so, is there a way to cancel the order? Thanks,Jim Warren, KPOU
  7. Captain'sOrdered my Captain's set of manuals early Friday morning, and as of Monday afternoon it hadn't shipped.(still being processed). Also, there is now a note at the bottom of my order page ( was NOT there when I ordered) saying my manuals may be shipped in separate packages, because they may be coming from different warehouses. Is there a problem now with shipping and delivery, or maybe a stock problem?? Just asking the forum, are there any other customers in my situation? When should I push the panic button :)Thanks,Jim Warren, KPOU
