Yeah looks very similar. I'm currently downloading FSX Steam again so will try putting Anisotropic filtering on. Traktor isn't connected up all the time so yeah probably putting it on the SSD is daft but I like the faster loading. I think im going to invest in a few more SSD's and have 1 for FSX and 1 for X Plane 10 Matt

Thanks for the reply. I've actually just wiped my computer and in the process of reinstalling everything. I will download it again and try that if the problem rears its ugly head. Prior to wiping I fired up X-Plane 10 and it worked flawlessly. I had 50-60fps without HDR and 30-40fps with HDR on and that was everything the step below maximum. I believe X Plane 10 uses Opengl? If so perhaps its a directx issue? Will reinstall everything and let you know Matt

Hi, I'm having problems with FSX Steam Edition. I have just built a new setup with the following spec.. Amd FX 6300 6 Core Processor (stock not overclocked yet) Msi 970 Gaming Motherboard 8Gb DDR3 2133hz Ram Msi Gaming Nvidia 960 2GB (stock not overclocked yet) 240GB SSD (550/500) 1TB Hard Drive (FSX is installed here) LG 24GM77 144hz Monitor - set at 120hz I have just done a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and everything is running perfectly. When I run FSX I have these funny graphics and the fps is low 30s (I expected more really) Any ideas? Matt

Hi, Going to build a new PC this week to use X-Plane 10 and just after some advice. Processors: Intel i5 3570k OR Intel i7 3770k OR AMD Piledriver 8350. All will be overclocked. Is the i7 ALOT better than the i5? Is the AMD better as its 8 core? Graphics Card: NVidia 2GB 660 TI OR Nvidia 2GB 670 OR AMD 3GB 7970. Ive heard AMD aren't as good for X-Plane but not sure. Hard Drive: Going to get a 256GB SSD for the Windows 8 and another 256Gb SSD just for X-Plane 10. Will an SSD make a lot of difference if I was to use a dedicated 1TB 7200rpm Hard Drive instead? Any help really appreciated Matt

Hi,How many cores does FSX utilise properly?Im just wondering whether to get an i3 and overclock it to approx 4.6ghz, get an i5 760 quad and overclock it to about 4.2ghz or to get the latest sandy bridge 2500k and overclock that to 4.8ishI know the sandy bridge will be fastest but will FSX really run that much faster using the 2500k than the i3 if the same graphics card is used? Surely 4.6ghz is going to be faster than the 4.2ghz i5 750?Just wondering as going the i3 route will save me quite a bit of money in the build.Matt

Hi,I will have Windows 7 Ultimate, FSX and other programs such as Photoshop CS4 so id rather buy bigger than run out of space. I will however be having 2x1tb samsung F3 7200rpm drives raided mirror for backup of my pics, music etcThe SSD ive seen is actually 240gb and says it has Sandforce SF1200 controller, and read/write speeds of 285/275mbpsMatt

Hi,Narrowing down my hard drive choice to either a 300gb Velociraptor 10,000rpm for my OS and a seperate 300gb Velociraptor 10,000rpm for FSX OR an SSD for the OS and a seperate one for FSX.My question is this.... If i go the SSD route is there any disadvantage by having a 320gb SSD for both os and fsx as i understand the main benefit of having seperate hard drives is that fsx will load faster and load textures faster as its pulling off its own hard drive and hasnt got to find it all mixed up with windows. On an SSD that wont be the case will it as it will always be in the same place so i cant see any benefit of having 2x160gb SSD instead of one 320gb?Matt

Hi,As per my other thread im going to be buying a decent system on tuesday (i5 2500k etc etc) and am thinking of which display to go for. Out of the following , which would you think would give me the best results? 3x 24" 1920x1080p monitors 42/50" plasma tv 42/50" lcd tv 1080p projector running at 1920x1080p 27" 2560x1440 monitor They are all going to cost similar money so cost doesnt come into it.Must admit the thought of a big 100"+ projectoed image sounds mint to me but will it be good being that big if its 1920x1080p?Matt

Hi,Why not bother with SSD's? My mate has one of them and they are amazingly fast compared to standard hard drives. They will also be quicker than the caviar black and vrap according to the internet. What do you think to this spec as the memory will run at 1.45v so fine with sandybridge , also i will have one ssd for main windows , 1 just dedicated for fsx and then the 2x1tb for my music/photos etc etc
