New A2A Spitfire Movie
I just discovered A2A a few days ago and purchased the p47 Razorback + Accusim. WOW!!! These guys have taken aircraft modeling craftmanship to a new level. All of a sudden, real cockpit management comes into play like I've never experienced before. The modeling which with systems change with varying parameters during flight (temp, pressure, alt, power etc...), the need to monitor these fluctuations on guages that really work, and the fidelity of the controls in the cockpit to manage these systems - and get real results - is nothing short of astounding! Not to mention the need to fly properly and by the book... If you think I'm just rattling off, try landing this bird using your normal tried and true FSX proceedures... and I'll say a prayer for you. This is the closest thing to actually getting a real feeling for what those pilots of yesteryear where into when they took those birds up into battle... or just up into the air. Not only that, but you really learn a lot about flying techiques, especially becuase you can learn by doing... a little studying, a few flights, a few mishaps, and suddenly the finer points of flying high performance planes becomes crystal clear. I know I now have a much greater understanding of cowl flap usage, turbo boost - the why and how its supposed to be used, oil temp and CHT temp monitoring. All the things I've always been a little mystified by in the past. I knew I was into something terrific when my windows started fogging up the other night as I gained some great altitude... and I had to turn on the window defroster. It worked too. That's sim modeling!!!

C208 Grand Caravan operation/ITT
Thanks for that. It may well be an FSX system limitation.

C208 Grand Caravan operation/ITT
2 quick questions:On takeoff In the 208 grand caravan, are you supposed to watch your ITT and keep it in the green - which on a standard temp day will certainly go beyond that threshold at full power (at least in Carenado's model), or is it proper to always set full throttle for takeoff no matter what the ITT is reading and then get it back into the green during climb?Which leads me to my other question: Is ITT maintained solely with the throttle/power setting? Thanks in advance.

Trackir center view /w eyepoint adjustment
Ryanbatcund, I am aware of the centerview feature with Trackir - use it all the time. I think you misunderstood my question as it pertains to changing what the center view shows. But thanks for the reply none the less.Mad Dog, thanks for the input... I do that trick all the time myself. That may be how I'll have to resolve the situation.dighost, your advice is more along the lines of the kind of thing I was looking for. Sadly, after tinkering with the main panel file in the main Digital Aviation folder (which I think all the variants adhere to) nothing seemed to change when changing the VIEW_FORWARD_EYE. All three were set to 0.00 but the changes I made didn't have any effect. Still a great plane to fly, though...Thanks all for the replies.

Trackir center view /w eyepoint adjustment
I've been flying the Dornier Do-27 lately. With my Trackir it's an easy thing to center my view in the cockpit. The problem is that that center view defaults to where I'm sitting more on the backrest of the seat than ON the seat. The problem presents itself most when trying to look out the side window and having too large a portion of the airframe block the view.Adjusting the eyepoint (with my prefered zoom) with the keyboard is no problem... thought I seem to be able to adjust it ONLY if I momentarily disable the Trackir. The problem is that when I enable the Trackir after doing this, it just reverts instantly back to the defualt eyepoint. So, does anybody know a way I can adjust the Trackir 'center view', make it closer in, and make it stick? Thanks.

Dornier do-27 radios and circuit breakers
It seems that I can't get the master avionics circuit breaker to turn on (stay in the IN position). It's the only breaker on all the different variants that won't click in. I can't get awos/atis nor use the nav radio because of this. I haven't even tried pro mode yet so it can't be that I broke it and it needs maintainence. Could I get a little help here? I know I'm missing something. The before startup checklist says to turn off Master Avionics switch before engine start. Is this breaker the switch in question?UPDATE: Disregard folks. It turns out I DID need maintanence after all. All is well.
