  1. No possible... the AI required to make the computer be the Pilot Flying is way beyond what is possible.

Only way would be to create totally 'scripted' flights using full automation, and even then that's dicey.  All it would take is some weird FSX wind shift to somehow jostle the plane and trip off the autopilot and the whole thing would go to pot.

Sorry, looks like you misunderstood me.

I ment to be a pilot flying but on the right seat. So at the gate I do most of the job on switches but Capt does the checks.

  2. guys for now just fly your NGX with side by side displays, no winglets, eye brow windows, and the honeywell mcp.. That basically looks indentical to a classic and its what I do to simulate BA :)

Today there are many classics with winglets.

Don't know about enigma's systems, but it would be awesome to have their VC and Visual and IXEG's systems...or at least wilco's...

  3. for those of you that expect to get desktop performance out of a laptop are going to be very disappointed. I can't seem to understand why anyone would want to "cut" out the best FSX has to offer by getting a laptop. There is no comparison period.I had both and the only thing I use my so call fsx laptop for is weather and charts along side of my real Fsx computer.

Laptop can run FSX not very badly mostly depending on the scenery. If you had celeron 1.7 or cheap AMD processor with integrated videocard, that doesn't mean that ivy bridge mobile with the lastest NVIDIA/ATI can't handle it.

Everything in your arms. I know people who can't run FSX on i7 2700k + GTX580 without lags.

  4. allienware is too expensive for it's components/quality. There are many other, much better options then dell. Olso it looks to childish with all those lights and crap, while others look more presentable in my opinion.

Here is a link to one good US shop: http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-clevo-sager-notebooks-ct-95_51_162.html

Sagers are good for quality/prices and have top end components.

here is a good shop for EU : http://www.mysn.de/brand.asp?userid=E6D2271BAF144B0AB342B1BD1C0D1F65&KategorienOrder=010;020;010

But there are many others. I was researching for gaming laptop for half of a year, but went for desctop anyway. It's much better in terms of perfomance.

  5. So this is normal from TOC to TOD constantly? Yes i am aware that RPM is not the exactly correct way to put it when referring to a jet. However if you want to be picky about it, a turbine rotates and does so at differing rates of rpm according to the thrust the throttles are set to.

Just looking for some 'friendly advice'

    Regards,

Well, To be straight, all I did is install ASE/AS2012, FSUIPC last version (full version ISNT required), turnoff turbulence in FSX menu, change turbulence scale in FSX.cfg as said in ASE/AS2012 manual, reduce max turbulence effects by 50% (as well as shears and so on) in ASE/AS2012, turnoff wake turbulence.

That's all. You might get little speed jums especially at the areas with high mountain dencity, when the stations get changed. The truth is that it's actually not normal thing in flight sim (jumps caused because of DWC mode limits in FSX weather engine). But another fact about it, is that in real life you also get these jumps in turbulent areas and this makes you to feel fine about it.

  6. I have ASE and although i have almost elimated s turns, i do still get a lot of engine RPM variance up and down during cruise.

I guess you never been in the cockpit when the plane gets into different airmass or crosses jetstream and the wind changes in a matter of a second. There are thousand of people got injured and many even died from not fastened seatbelts at cruising level.

When in turbulence, you have to disengage autothrust and on boeings the engine power isnt measured in rpm...

  7. Don't forget FS2Crew. I was deciding between FS2Crew and Ground Service X and went with FS2Crew -- learning the flows is great. Now all I have to is learn what switches my co-pilot are pressing until I can fully operate it bymyself :)

Learn Aplified procedures chapter in FCOM and print a checklist, and you don't need any FS CREWS adn other stuff which automizes the stuff that already atomized as hell.

  8. I don't get PMDG policy here. Everybody asks for the future, and PMDG rejects it.

I thoght the best way of keeping customers, is to watch what they want sometimes. Even if it's going to kill FPS, everybody would buy it...With or without it, there are hundreds thread about FPS.

  9. No, I don't have FS2Crew. I read this requires to switch Windows language to English to use voice control (I would prefer this version than button control). I avoid to make such kind of changes in my OS, so that's why I didn't bought FS2Crew.

But your sound - just done for fun as you wrote - made me really happy :) I often fly with Ryanair and always hear this "cabin crew seat..." phrase, so every time I have a big smile thinking "yeah, just like in my NGX" :) :P

Basically, it's possible to connect the sound of the cabin with pax (and attendant) via any default sound. For examle after landing, you could merge sounds of attendant speaking and saying goodbye with speedbrake deployment or somethening (just to leave a gap for 40-60 sec)...But i wonder what we can merge for takeoff?

The only thing is to make some attendant after engine start. But many airports has h/p very close to the terminal, so it's possible that you could takeoff before attendant stops speaking.

I wonder if someone can create a few contact points (buttons) anywhere in the cockpit, so if you press it (your custom sound will play). I think it not hard with SDK availible, but i am noob at this stuff :)

  10. I also use a free LogMeIn account to display the FMC on the iPad. You need a dual monitor output video card and two monitors connected to it. Unlock and slide the FMC from the VC over to the second monitor, and the iPad will display whatever is on the 2nd monitor. I do all FMC programming using the touchscreen, and can still easily move back and forth between the FMC and whatever charts I need.

What about fsinn? My laptop is finally broke, so i wonder if it's possible to put fsinn on ipad and run FSX in fullscreen mode as well, as switching to charts if needed...

  11. Also, FSX applies the surround sound concept even to stereo speakers - again the sounds vary depending on viewpoint position.

I meant not the 5.1 or 7.1 compatibility. I meant the way how the actual sound is recorded.

did you do any fix for that?

No, I tried to rip from many different videos, but didn't come up with good result.

But, I wrote one letter to 737-800 pilot and asked him to try and record the trim. Maybe we will come up with something more realistic.

  12. i am definitely not saying PMDG didn't do great job, definitely not!!

None sais that actually. The thing is that they didn't put enough effort in to surround effect for all these sounds. When it's played in FSX, it doesn't give a full feeling of the cockpit.

    Here is comparison of video

    1. with default GPWS

    2. with my GPWS

    3. Real cockpit

  13. Hey mate, i do really appreciate your great job. i don't really know how to explain that, but the sound of the GPWS that we hear in the NGX are little bit trebled, i am not sure if there's kind of word, but when i was in the cockpit of a 757-300 the altitude callouts were with way more bass, i am not sure that i explained myself well, but it's very hard to explain, but cheers for your hard work.

Use my pack here. It olso contains some other sounds.
