  1. Guys, I cannot believe it. I run into a buddy who plays a lot of games. He has the same Soundblaster I have. He told me he couldn't get sounds reliably with "surround sound" selected......... So I call up the SB control and deselect surround sound and select "stereo A/B" and VOILA, I have the ATC voices. Between us, there have been several hours invested and the friggin SB needed to be in the stereo mode. God bless for all your efforts. Amazing JDH
  2. Ron, we have nearly identical settings. I have "pilot autoreply" checked also. RC has worked perfectly for me until I did the new download / key following the purchase of my new system (specs outlined above). No other program has given me any hassle. My soundcard is the Soundblaster Recon3D PCIe and seems to work perfectly in all other software. Did I get a bad download .zip this time? It seems we've pretty much exhausted everything else.
  3. Hi Ron Yes, all other programs have normal sounds. I did as you requested with FSX and RC. I deselected all ATC options in FSX. I used a default A310. The RC window appears normally. I selected the wx option and it did not play. I selected the clearance option. No sound, but it did advance to "push back and start engines" and "ground control". No sounds. Engine sounds are normal. I did not see an error message. JDH
  4. I gave up and did an "uninstall" and reinstalled from my program download, then I entered my key and all went well. I deleted all flight plans and will start fresh. Install (right click "run as administrator") created rcv4 and rcv4x folders. Properties revealed both were "read only". I deleted rcv4 since I only run FSX with Acceleration. I then created a shortcut to my desktop and opened Radar Contact with the "run as administrator" selection. RC opened normally. I set up my options, then went to "Voices". I clicked a number of the controllers, but still no voices. Since this is a new install, I thought my problem would resolve, but no such luck. What the heck? JD
  5. Here's my rcv3.dat file. It is not marked "read only". I notice it doesn't point to the flight sim flight plan folder in the second area you highlighted. It goes back to the C:.... MS games\ FSX. This is what I see in the FLT/WX path window. 6. This a.m., with RC / FSX running with right click "run as administrator" and incorporating your suggestions, no ATC voice. I double checked the .FLT/.WX path. It had defaulted back to "C" and not to my flight plan folder. I repeated the selection process "user / JD / my documents / Flight Simulator X Files". It just reverts back to "C" allowing my problem to continue. I have no voice upon clicking the individual controllers in RC either. If I could get .FLT/WX to remain on the FSX files folder, it possibly would work, but it just keeps reverting to "C"...... I'm sorry I'm such a computer illiterate and a continued pain, but I really enjoy RC and hope I can get it working. Many thanks JDH
  7. I use the flight planner in FSX
  8. JD I saw only your note before giving it a go. PHNL KSJC Level D 767-300ER The flight completed, but no ATC voice start to end. At the end, I saw a dialog box with "Run Time Error 52". I have created a log file per your directions, but I have no idea how to attach it, so I sent it via e-mail to the address in the "How to create a log file" directions. Ron, I'll try your suggestions next time. Many thanks to you both. JDH
  9. Radar Contact 4.3 3845 System Spec: 1.) OS Windows 7 64bit 2.) RAM 16 Gig Cosair Vengence 3.) Video card MSI Twin Frozr Radeon HD 7950 4.) No overclocking 5.) Hard drive Western Digital Caviar 1 TB (96% free space) 6.) Radar Contact 4.3 3845 7.) FSX with SP2 plus Acceleration 8.) Internet connection active 9.) McAfee antivirus 10.) Firewall turned off when using FSX 11.) FUSICP 4.9 (updated May 8, 2013) Problem: I open REX Essential, then FSX, then after starting and opening the flight to the gate, I open Radar Contact. It's worked great since my initial purchase, but with my new system (above) I have no ATC voice. The data box appears on the screen with the aircraft, but no ATC voice.... no AI either now that I think of it. A couple of times I saw a "run time error 76", but other times, it just quit running and FSX then crashes along with it. I open my task manager and it shows REX operating fine, FSX not running, and Radar Contact not running. I have to close Radar Contact and FSX. FSX runs fine on FSX radio so long as I do not open Radar Contact. All programs including Radar Contact are run "as administrator". Thanks in advance for any help. JD
  10. I upgraded my computer to an I7 quad core running at 3.5ghz with 16gb RAM All was fine on my old computer with MTX ver5.4a. I copy/pasted to transfer the installation folder. It doesn't work. Can I redownload the file or purchase an upgrade to 5.4b?? Any help appreciated Jim
  11. Further discovery... I was looking in the simobject folder for the JS41 and noticed the file pmdg_j41 . I noticed in properties it was an installer file, so I clicked it. An applet popped up saying I had a damaged AIR file and I should request a new one. I already started a ticket with support, but this is new info if you think it applicable. Ticket Number 1E8-15F172F4-7552
  12. OK, I uninstalled both the BAE4100 and the 747-400. I deleted all repaint for both and basically everything I brought up in a search "PMDG". I deleted all flights in the "Save" menu and all flight plans in the Flight Menu. I defragged and ran "chkdsk /f". I then ran FSX and a game 737 model for a full flight. It worked fine. My Level D 767-300 works fine. My 747-400X works fine. I then reinstalled the BAE4100..... CTD on loading the aircraft just as before. I have to admit my maturity became questionable for a moment here. I just cannot figure what the heck. I even deleted the original downloaded .zip file and re-downloaded a new one. Every time, it CTD's when I load the aircraft just after the picture appears. It never starts to rotate, so I guess it's failing to load completely. The repeated CTD's (approx 7-8 by now) cannot be doing my drive / game /etc any good. I do use FSUIPC 4. I have no add-ons other than those I mentioned in my previous posting. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts and help. I will try Support. BestJD
  13. There are no error messages and the installation is totally unremarkable. Very straightforward without touching a thing. Yes, I use the PMDG model & I've tried the unpainted model also. I dumped the paint files, uninstalled via the Installer, defragged, and re-installed. Same result. CTD loading the aircraft. I'm flying FSX with Accelerator. The PMDG 747-400X CDROM version is installed and works fine. I also fly the Level D 767-300 as my only other add on aircraft. I do use Radar Contact 4.3 and MyTraffic 5.3b. No other addon's. I run Windows 7 Home Premium on a 3.00GHz quad-core, 16GB RAM, with an ATI Radeon HD 5450 500mb video card. I've made several attempts and I'm feeling a mite discouraged. If this is just some weird non-resolvable incompatibility, can I trade it back for credit on the new 737 model...? Thanks for your help JD
  14. FSX Gold with Acceleration, 3Ghz quad-core, ATI Radeon with 512mb, 16Gb memory. I already have the 747-400 sim installed without issues. I just bought the BAE4100, installed it without issues, activated successfully and installed several repaints. All OK and all show up in my aircraft collection. The problem came when I loaded the aircraft for a flight. ( I used the American Airline paint scheme ) It never fully loads, but crashes short. This happened twice in a row on first startup. I did load the zip into a subfolder in my PMDG folder created by the 747 install. I didn't think that would be an issue.... Other than that, the install proceeded without problem. ThanksJD
  15. I've run into the circular computer page syndrome trying to order the 747 sim. I log in fine and go to check-out. I check the "I understand blah blah" button and then "continue". All it does is reload the page. I wasted an hour trying to find an email to communicate with customer service or some way around to just check out and pay for the damn thing, but . . . . .Anyway, would you be kind enough to notify customer service that I'm having problems?email: removed for securityThanksJD
