  1. Big thanks to you guys for your thoughts. So far, so good the majority of the time. Jim may be right in one of my airplane add ons. I'll check that out with a new airplane designed specifically for P3Dv4.5 Best Jim
  2. I downloaded and installed the Add on Organizer suggested. All my scenery files including MyTraffic6 were highlighted in green. I noticed it didn't include my aircraft (PMDG 777 and MilViz Cessna 310). I also use Active Sky for P3Dv4. I know my PMDG model is designed for P3Dv3, 32bit, and v4, being a 64bit design.... might that be an issue? I went to the PMDG store and the new one for v4 is the same 32bit I already had, so I am using it. One curiosity with the Add on Organizer is it finds a script error in the PData/LM/P3Dv4/add-ons.cfg folder. I checked and that folder is empty. I deleted the folder and P3D made a new one. Same error again. I have no idea. Best Jim
  3. I'll download it this a.m. Jim
  4. Hi Scott I renamed the files to "dll.off" and turned up my sim to higher settings. Two successful flights with no CTD, but on flight 3, it crashed. I checked the files and sure enough, the P3D app had rebuilt both dll's. So I tried "acexml" and that didn't work. P3D ignored it and built a new dll. I then tried "dll.old", but same result. I think you're right about those two files. I have no idea what to do next. If I just delete them, P3D will rebuild them. Jim
  5. I'll try it tonight. Thank you so much for taking the time. Jim
  6. System: new Alienware Aurora RX9 (I7-9700K @3.6, 16Gb RAM, nVidia RTX2070S 8GB GDDR6) Add ons: Active Sky for P3Dv4 I fly: PMDG 777-200 and a MilViz Cessna 310 I optimized my graphics card for performance per nVidia recommendations. I have not tried overclocking. My problem: I CTD via the "ntdll.dll" failure again and again. I delete P3D.cfg and accept the default recommendations, but it still CTD's. It's not every time, but I bet 7 of 10 is close. It's quite frustrating to see videos on YouTube of folks with settings max'd. Even the guys posting the settings guides frequently have everything max'd. Heck the guide provided here on site has higher settings. My default settings per P3D.cfg are quite modest, but still I frequently CTD. Good old "ntdll.dll" nailed me again tonight KDFW - KSFO At least for P3D, is my system regarded "high end"? More RAM?? Any thoughts appreciated. I am stuck. Thanks Jim Hillman

    FSX key

So my Grandson showed me how to search.......... Voila, lots of similar queries Hell to get old Thanks JD
  8. I decided to return to FSX Gold with Acceration update from P3D. So I went to PMDG and redownloaded several airplane (737NGX, 777-200, BA-4100). I then used the key specified with the file download, but to no avail on any of the aircraft. I'm sure key issues have been addressed, but I don't know how to topic search the forum Anyways, thank you for any help. J D Hillman
  9. I solved the issue. I placed P3D on a special optical drive, but the installer still placed its necessary files in my C drive "user" files. I had deleted them from both "local" and "roaming", but it never occurred to me to check "all"...... there sits 'simobjects.cfg', deleted the MyTraffic entry and VOILA.... I know, a brain f*rt on my part. Thank you folks so much for your efforts. Jim
  10. I use a second drive for the P3D files with the exception of MyTraffic. MT6 is on my "C" drive because the installer prefers it. P3D and other addons are on a dedicated drive with gigabytes of room. Prepar3D 3.4.14.18870 (recent update of full program) addons: PMDG 777 P3D, Active Sky Next P3D, and MyTraffic Professional 6.0 All worked as advertised until the P3D update to 3.4.14.xxxx . When I updated the P3D, I downloaded the entire program again along with the SDK files. All addons work fine except MyTraffic. I get to the Communicator, when I localize the Traffic and Prepar3Dv3, the simobject installer window opens, but when I click "ADD", a box opens saying "MyTraffic folder already exists and does not need to be added".......... No MyTraffic folder is in the P3D scenery library. This has me stuck. Where the heck is the folder so I can delete it and get on with the install? Also, I can't find my P3D simobjects.cfg folder...... Other than all that, I've had a wonderful day and hope you have also Jim

    777-200 install issue

I uninstalled both Prepar3D and the PMDG 777. I then reinstalled the Prepar3D on a 2TB optical drive and ran all three SimConnect.msi installers. Following this, I reinstalled the 777 and rebooted the machine. I ran the flight sim with admin priv and ensured I entered the scenario screen, checked the subject "box" and closed the program. On reopening, I loaded the 777......... ugh, I still have the same problem. I have to admit I'm feeling a bit discouraged. I believe I've followed the directions closely several times, but to no avail. J D Hillman

    777-200 install issue

Thanks very much for your suggestions and I will check the Simconnect issue. I just purchased the product, so the only simconnect I have is what was included. RE: my name My full name is J D Hillman. In the Navy, they used J(only) D(only) Hillman and it wound up Jonly Donly . . . Jim's just a nickname. JD Hillman
  14. Good morning. I just purchased Prepar3d V3 last week and the PMDG 777-200 for Prepar3d. I have the problem described so beautifully in the PMDG Support page where no switches are clickable and the panel won't fully load. The 777 is the only add-on I have. I did follow the steps outlined in the PMDG Knowledge Base, but whenever I load Prepar3d, the scenario page has the F-22 in the window. Anyway, I'm all screwed up and would appreciate any help you can offer. My hunch is I'm not correctly making the 777 the "only" aircraft loaded. Many thanksJim J D Hillman
  15. Guys, I cannot believe it. I run into a buddy who plays a lot of games. He has the same Soundblaster I have. He told me he couldn't get sounds reliably with "surround sound" selected......... So I call up the SB control and deselect surround sound and select "stereo A/B" and VOILA, I have the ATC voices. Between us, there have been several hours invested and the friggin SB needed to be in the stereo mode. God bless for all your efforts. Amazing JDH
