I upgraded my computer to an I7 quad core running at 3.5ghz with 16gb RAM                  All was fine on my old computer with MTX ver5.4a.      I copy/pasted to transfer the installation folder.   It doesn't work.

 

Can I redownload the file or purchase an upgrade to 5.4b??

Once you have installed RC and registered, the .bin file is gone. The current version is version 4.3 build 3845. If you need to download send an e-mail to [email protected] Subject: User Data Update and Download Link. Include your current and original e-mail address and user name when registering and what purchase information you have.

 

That way he can also update your user data in the registration database so you can auto-register to get a new key. Be sure you run the rcv4.exe used for install by right clicking on it and choose run as an administrator, an app level, not user account level for W7 or VISTA.

 

You will also need for Win 7 to obtain some runtime library modules no longer included in Win 7. See pinned topic 713 errors. When you get your new key and copy/paste it from the e-mail to your RC registration dialog be sure no extra space characters are at the beginning or end. The cursor should rest after the last character after pasting. If not backspace to get rid of it and then proceed.

 

You can now set up a shortcut to rcv4.exe and right click on properties setting it security/access level to run as admin.

 

After RC installs and attempts to run makeryws (scenery rebuild), update makerwys.exe (in your FS folder) and fsuipc from the links at the forum top. Then run again the scenery rebuild from within RC.

 

Be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through your ISP and pc spam filters.

 

No, you can't just copy an existing RC folder to another PC or disk because certain parameters are set during the install.

that error occurs because you tried to run the .exe directly from the zip file. that is a terrible performance hit, so the instructions are to unzip the files into a temp directory on your disk, and then run the .exe from the temp directory on your disk
