For some reason, I always seem to have the odd and very weird problems...

Ok, after playing around with Flight Sim Commander 9 and FSX, I've been able to get this result: if I set up the route and save it to my FSX file in My Documents, I can then open it in FSX' flight planner and load it. This allows me to use VOR - VOR, High altitude, and low altitude. However, I can not just set it up totally through FSX Flight Planner. Very odd.

Hi, Simmerhead and Mad Dog,Thanks for your replies! I've been finding many great addons and aircraft for Russia and the surrounding countries. I'm curious as to why my flight planner does not work for those areas of the world. I may have to try re-installing and see if that helps.Thanks!

Hi, All,I have recently begun flying in some of the old Eastern Block countries (Ukraine, Poland, Russia, etc) using FSX w/Acceleration and I have notinced a peculiar problem. Whenever I try to set up a flight through flight planner, the only routing it will allow me to use is GPS. Period. It says there are NO nav to nav, high flightways, or low flightways. It says this whether I try setting up VFR or IFR, and it doesn't matter what aircraft I try to use.Has anyone else seen this? Do you know a way to fix it? I have tried setting up flights in Flight Sim Commander 9 and importing them into FSX; FSX refuses them. I don't get it. You may have noticed from my other posts that I tend to find the odd problems...Hopefully my finding these problems and hopefully solutions will help others down the road.Thanks everyone!Steve

I got an email from Milton late last night, and he Is in the process of doing a full upgrade of the Dash - 7 himself, which should be out in about 3 months. I would still love to do the full glass panel, though!

Hi guys,Thanks for the responces! Sorry, I was tired when I posted and I forgot to say that I have Ultimate Terrain X USA by Flight 1 installed, with all patches applied. The airports themselves are default, not addons. I haven't tweeaked the config files. I tried uninstalling UTX, but that didn't change anything.These are the two worst examples I've found; the others are usually stuff like a building in the middle of a taxiway, etc.

Here is an example of what I'm talking bout. This is KSEA...

Addendum: I have been checking (flying into or out of) more airports around these two. So far, these two are the only ones that are toast. Even Boeing Field, which is right beside KSEA, is fine. Very odd...

Hi everyone,I decided to fly in an area I usually don't fly - the U.S. Pacific North West. The airports I have been to so far are KSEA (Seattle - Tacoma International) in Washington and Portland International in Oregon.Big Problem: The airports are FUBAR! The runways are covered by sand dunes, half the buildings and parked aircraft are floating in the air, some are half below ground. It's very odd to see the tail of an airplane cutting through the tarmac like the fin of a shark. I can take screen shots if you'd like to see them.I haven't tried any other airport in that area, but California seems ok, and I haven't noticed this problem anywhere else in the U.S. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?Thanks in advance,Steve

Hi everybody!I have Milton Shupe's Dash 7, which is an awesome plane. Many of the gauges, though, are from FS98. Can anyone give me an idea on how to go about upgrading those gauges? I have sent Milton an email asking for his permission to work on the plane.I would also like to do a full glass panel using something like the Garmin G1000. Any thoughts or suggestions on that? I am new to panel working but I would really like to do this. I could mebbe use a tutorial, if anyone knows of a good one!Thanks in advance!Steve

Hi, Theteeboy, Thanks for your replies! I did notice that those knobs were labelled backwards. I was doing some reading and found another post where someone recommended the units made by Reality XP. I decided to give them a try and bought them. They are awesome! You might want to give them a try too. I have never used the real Garmin offerings because my health is too bad for me to pass a medical so I can't take lessons. But because the Reality XP offerings use the Garmin user guides for operation, they must be close!Thanks again!Steve

Hi, all,I have recently started using the wonderful Carenado Cessna 208B Grand Caravan. I am trying to figure out the GNS430, but I'm having a problem. I can not find a click spot to activate the cursor. I have read the .pdf concerning this GNS, and it says that anything not mentioned (and the cursor is not) works like the FSX default Garmin 530. However, it doesn't work for me. Also, when I bring out the GNS430 as a popup, I can not get it to resize. Any suggestions?Thanks,Steve
