  1. The Austrian Noctua NH-D14 is a monster of a cooler that is pretty much the top one currently. I have one running, but you really need to make sure it will fit in your case before you attempt to install it (in general, you will need to remove the motherboard in order to install it correctly) Andrew
That's right, Noctua, not Noshua. And, you're right, it's an absolute pain to install because you have to mount the backplate. That means you basically have to rebuild your PC. In the end though, it's worth it for an ultra cool air cooling solution.Trevor

  2. UPS and IBM are both actual companies, NG is the name of a plane. X is just referring to FSX
Yes, they are companies. But, that doesn't factor into trademark protection analysis. When dealing with products, the focus is on the significance of the combination of letters and their relation to the particular product. There's also quite a big difference between common law trademark protection and the rights afforded by registration.

  3. FS Commander by far. Although I can't seem to recall a list of features relative to either product, I remember FSC having far greater functionality. Now, however, I use Aivlasoft EFB, which blows both FSC and FSBuild out of the water.Trevor

  4. I doubt it. The term NGX is far too general to be legally bound to one company.
What about UPS? IBM? Whether or not there is trademark protection here would probably have more to do with the fact that Boeing has conflicting rights with respect to the 737NG portion of "737NGX." Anyway, who cares. :)

  5. The X is for Flight Simulator X. It is PMDG's product. The NG in 737NG is for Next Generation, referring to the upgraded models. To phrase it differently, The PMDG 737NGX is a simulation of a Boeing 737NG
This is irrelevant to the legal question of whether there is trademark protection around "NGX."Trevor

  6. I do see a bit better performance just wiping the fsx cfg, now for the tweaking system And Word Not Allowed, you think you can help me get my 2600K above 4.5GHz without it trying to eat me? I noticed the tweaker makes FSX Shader3 compatible, should I use that or get rid of it?
Check overclockers club and related sites. I've seen plenty of users reporting 5+GHz with decent vcore (i.e., that won't cause your CPU to eat you). This guide is a good start, from what I understand (although I have the 965EE): http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265056-29-2600k-2500k-overclocking-guideTrevor

  7. In reply to:[bUFFERPOOLS]UsePools=0RejectThreshold=102400PoolSize=2097152 Guys, it makes me feel really sick that I see such tweaks over and over again. Do you just go copy/pasting tweaks as you find them? There are reasons why UsePools=0 makes your system spin up.You should READ about what those tweaks really do, and you would understand that having Usepools=0 and Poolsize=2097152 doesn't make any sense. And when your sim starts crashing from unknown reason, you will wonder why the hell the newest addon you purchased is crashing from unknown reason, while you will never be thinking about Usepools=0, or so called BP=0 tweak as it was called long long time ago!Argh.
+1 UsePools=0 is for testing (i.e., toggling BP on and off). With an i7 2600K, this should be a five step process: 1. Delete fsx.cfg2. Rebuild fsx.cfg3. Sliders right4. Run fsx.cfg through venetubo5. Fly Trevor

  8. Actually, why don't you delete your fsx.cfg (after backing it up), reboot FSX so that it rebuilds the cfg, and then run fsx.cfg through venetubo again. If you've got multiple GPU entries, your cfg is probably in a state of disrepair. Many people have done this and confirmed that it helps. And, if it ends up being worse, just replace the rebuilt cfg with the backup you made. Voila!Trevor

  9. The draw for this hacker is obviously seeing the chaos his/her attacks are causing.....why not have everyone post pretend 'Great IT WORKS topics' and that'll lead him/her to think it's attacks are not working...................eeeerrrrr, as long as the hacker doesn't try to buy the thing thus realising the servers are down. Chris Farrell
I have a better idea. Why don't we find this hacker and make him pay. :) Trevor Moore
