  1. I found the problem in menu\controls\ I have a 'virtual joystick" listed. assume it gets there because of home built panel switching plugged into a usb port. anyway, its 'axis' tab showed throttle (and others) as - assigned. Deleted all of these and BINGO. You right spirit-66.
  2. Throttle axis look and work ok. no duplications in \settings\controls. Why would changing something in the menu choices as explained, affect the throttle?
  3. Thnx gb but I don't understand what you mean. The 'control' files I know of are control.dll and standard.xml. Could you be more specific please?
  4. No early response over at p3d forum so trying here. I have done a full reinstall of v2.1,deleting what remnant directories remained after uninstalling 2.0. On starting p3d I get the old full throttle, left rudder bug which can be fixed for that flight by juggling saitek yoke quadrant throttle control and applying full brakes. I got this issue in 2.o but it cleared after my first exit/reboot from p3d. But there is more...... When accessing a menu item that changes the sim behaviour eg display\resolution change; or vehicles\select vehicle etc, the problem above manifests itself again. The new version is absolutely fab. but for me, only usable if I don't change anything during a session. Please help, seems I'm the only one. Where do I Iook? I just want to get on with flying. ps I use Saitek Yoke, quadrant and pedals and messing with calibrations etc. does resolve the above.
  5. Been around in circles on this one but can't solve. Standard.xml holds the Event Id's that control various panel switching inputs. I have built a cockpit panel using Pokeys to interface with the computer. Copied my working .xml file from v1.4 to v2 but rotary encodes not working. Any clues please?
  6. Thanx Joop Just checked it out. Looks promising but too detailed to just jump in. Have bookmarked it and will persue. There always seems to be a solution somewhere in the FS world. Love it. Best Regards. Happier 62
  7. With a 3 screen o/s view and a 2nd(4th monitor) for panels, p3d is just too problematical in terms of time to load and time to organise views. I like the scenery improvements and ,generally, I think it runs smoother on my T Model Ford computer system. However, for a FS10.03 version I wish Lockeed had spent more time on performance issues rather than eye candy stuff, that can come later. And especially since this is a 'learning' system. Damn! I get so p-offed with it at times ..... well ..it's slowly losing me. Gee! Iv'e been simming since FS1 and it gives me no pleasure to sprook off like this but the p3d forum has gone dead with bugger-all feed back from programmers. I'm hoping that's a sign 1.4 is imminent. I don't want to go back to x-plane 10 yet so, back to good old FSX. Am I a loner on this one?
  8. You are quite right ctec1. I just deleted Standard.xml and started p3d and it fired up with default key assignments after recreating the .xml file, assumedly, from the .xmlx file. Having these two files in the same directory and using a name change is the FSX departure. Caution all cockpit builders.
  9. That's it exactly Vic. I wasn't game to ask again. Hope somebody responds to this query as it seems to be a signficant departure.
  10. Thanks Fr. Bill So I think I can now say P3D is like FSX but different. Your response will probably save me alot of heart ache down the track. I'll now have to test that p3d.cfg will rebuild itself.....like before. Thanx again. :P
  11. I am about to launch into a heap of dabbles in order to get a new switch panel up and running. I think I am correct in saying that in FSX, the Standard file in User/.../.... is the one to modify/backup because another one in Program Files/...../FSX is used as the resource to re-recreate the former if there is a problem somewhere. I have messed successfully with P3D's user/....Standard file but can't find anything in Program Files/...../Prepar3d. Is there now only the one? Does not sound right if so!
